Some of these tricks I learnt myself from messing around and experimenting, some I learnt from the Forest Forum or watching other deer. I have added some and I want to put them back up for the benefit of any new deer who havent come across them before. These are the deep secret magics of the Endless Forest but there are more than are printed here that even Mushroom hasnt mastered yet...
-- SKIDDING / SLALOM --
Well I didn't see many deer doing this one so -- press UP and DOWN buttons [keeping pressed] and at the same time click the LEFT MOUSE button anywhere [ but not on the control panel ]. Make sure the display settings are turned up - nature details and screen resolution so that you can raise the dust of the forest floor as you skid around all over the place. Altenate with LEFT and RIGHT movements to create a Slalom effect. YEEHAAA !!! - Trail Blazing !!
-- FLYING [THIS IS GREAT] --
Just incase you missed this elswhere on the forums -- Run and jump from a high place and keep hitting the jump button repetivly. You will fly as long as you keep running and hitting jump fast enough. The big rock on top of the hill is the highest place to jump from. The Twin Gods Statues is also a good spot to launch from. Then head down towards the pond and you will be flying well above the willow trees.
-- DEER CHANT [REPEATITIVE MOOING] --
Moo and then as you do so click another action - stand attentive [ listen ] action is probably the best then moo again before the first moo finnishes. Keep doing this. At the moment the Twin Gods have set it to fade out after 4 moos. They did this I believe because we were creating such a racket, espesialy me !! I was the first deer to pick up on this since I've been in the forest. After that it spread like wild fire. I went away one time and when I came back they were all doing it !! Well it can sound wierd and wonderful.
MOO moo moo moo MOOOOoooo . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Oh well sry about that one , I'll try and keep it down from now on ..
-- WALKING ON WATER --
Jump onto the deeper part of the pond but before you land press BACKWARDS button. You will be able to stand on top of the water. Then you will be able to walk backwards on the water but not forwards or you will fall in. You can sit down on top of the water aswell.
-- SKIPPING ACROSS THE POND --
When you are on top of the water you can go forwards by skipping - JUMP but each time before you land press BACKWARDS. Keep doing this in a rythum but you've got to be quite quick on the keys.
-- SIT SLIDING [in a straight line] --
Press left or right and keep pressed then sit down at the same time. As you sit press forwards or backwards and keep pressed you will sit slide in a straight line. It seems you need a joystick to sit slide and turn at the same time ??
-- SLEEP SLIDING --
I use mouse movement for this [ keep left mouse button pressed and move around the screen ]
When the forest first loads you appear as brown deer with no picto. Get up straight away and start moving around using the mouse keeping the button pressed. When you atomaticaly logg in your deers picto appears and he goes back into the sleeping position. As this happens keep the left mouse button pressed and keep moving. You deer will sleep slide and you will be able to turn, slow down, speed up just as long as you keep the mouse pressed. It will finnish when you release the mouse button or try to change the camera angle.
-- MAGIC TREE --
I've spent many hours trying to pull this one off - You need to be shape shifted to a frog, bird, bat or squirral. Then, when no body is watching, go inside one of the bigger mushroom trees so that you are completly hidden and eat the mushrooms for making masks. Then when an unsuspecting deer comes along cast your magic on him. If hes foolish he will believe it is a magic tree !! Keep casting magic but never reveal yourself.
So there you sit inside a tree, waiting, waiting, waiting....
-- SPITTING --
!!! THIS IS VERY OFFENSIVE !!! -- you need a friend to help you. Get your friend to keep putting flowers on your antlers so that you have several sets of the same coloured flowers. Then when you see a deer who you dont like just spit / sneeze the flowers off in their general direction. It has the effect of spitting but you keep your same colours.
WARNING - never spit at the Twin Gods - its eternaly offensive.
Anyway you shouldn't go round spitting at people, you'll end up with no friends...
There are so many little tricks in the forest. Maybe I'll add some more to this list in time but you can get many form the 'Forest Tricks and Cheats' section of the forum. But if anyone wants to add to this list feel free. Im particualy interested in learning FLOATING and TURNING SLIDE SITTING I havent found these yet and realy need to learn them. I'll pay you in mushrooms and berries if you share them with me !!!

I just went to the forest to
Press the UP and DOWN arrow keys at the same time keeping them pressed, then click the LEFT MOUSE button repetedly. It dosnt seem to matter where the mouse pointer is when you do this except dont click on the action bar or you will activate the deer actions.
You can then press the LEFT or RIGHT arrow buttons to go side to side but must keep the UP & DOWN both pressed.
Turn the graphic setting up as high as you can go or you wont see the dust as you skid.

ARTEMIS and KOONIE are awesome together
LT - ah yes the old ' Magic
ARTEMIS - any deer can fly. Launch from a high place, a hill or something. You must be running and just keep jumping at the same time. You have to button mash the jump key quite fast and in rythum. Just pratice this , its just a case of getting the rythum right to stay in the air but it is very easy once you get it.

ya it's hard to find flying
on the game a lot of the time as a deer i flew in the play ground.
but i'm a bird in the forest right now, i'm trying to catch a squirrel now though:)
the squirrel is too fast though:) lol

Learned some new shtuffsh
One that I always use is sitting while flying. This can be used to "climb into trees," sit on the cage or other areas of the temple, You can do this by:
Run and jump from a high place and keep on jumping while airborn.
At any point in time you can ninja your way over to the esc button and press it to enter the menu screen, causing your deer to sit wherever midair they are (once my char is generally aimed to where I'm trying to sit, I take my right hand off the mouse and use it for this)
Timing the Esc button and jumping from the right height to land on what you're trying to get to can take time, but have patience and experiment! You've got this ^^
Soooo, question.
One time, I saw this deer at the ruins. They were at the tallest tomb stone and did like, some weird backflippy things and their deer gradually rose into the air until they landed floated up ontop of the stone and sat. I have no idea how to do this.
Another, is minor airborn minipulation. Like, if you miss your sit spot but just a smidge, it's such a butt to have to redo your whole jump. I've seen, I think it was Emilia, miss a sit, then be able to turn and minor adjust as if they were walking on the pond. I don't know how to do this either.
One thing I do do to switch my sit spot if I miss is:
Press the shift button first while midair sitting,
Then press W to get your deer standing and start pushing that space bar repeatedly right away as they rise. It should get you back into flight and hopefully you can make another pass at your hopeful landing pad without having to go back to your high jump spot.
