Fan art in the game!

Hello there!
I am Margo Putzeys, a student Game- and Digital Design and I am currently doing my internship with Tale of Tales. I am still studying but I will be entering my Master year next schoolyear.
For my internship Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn asked me if I wanted to work with the players and make models and concept art together. And with great pleasure I accepted this of course! This means you will be able to add art to the game!

But there are some 'rules' attached to this: If you make a 3D model, pleas send it as an .OBJ file to me. But a .Blender file ( Blender's file extension ) would be even better! But a .OBJ is good as well! As for the concept art you can send a photoshop file, PNG of JPEG.

So what can you make? Well it's like a set that the deers can wear in the game! This set includes: a mask, antlers and a pelt. Both made for the adult deer AND the baby deer. You can (if some of you know how and want to) texture these models by using a UV map. If you do texture them, send texture files as a PNG. ( PNG supports transparancy )
But of course you are never obligated to making more than you like. The meaning of this task is also for me to make stuff, so if you only would like to make the adult deer's models, that's fine by me. I can always texture them, add models, etc.

So if any of you are interested in putting your art or 3D models in the game. Send them to me and I can adjust them if necessary or take a look if something needs to be changed and so on.
You can of course also send your concept art to me and I can realise that concept art into a 3D model which may have a chance to be put in the actual game: The Endless Forest!

To be clear, we want Margo to do ALL of the modeling and ALL of the texturing. Because that is what her internship is about. YOU, players, are requested to send her concept art or point her to already existing concept art (on this very website, for instance). SHE can choose which concepts she models and textures. But WE, Auriea and Michaël, choose which go into the game. We hope there will be many!

Changed a whole lot about the mask. Texture, colors, shadow/lightening, brushstrokes, details, etc. A bit of everything :3

I like the new edits to the

I like the new edits to the mask, but I think that the orangeish colors on the mask doesn't fit well with the rest of the pelt and antlers.. so there's a couple things you could try. You could switch the orange on the mask to a yellow (like the pelt and antlers), OR you could switch the yellows on the pelt/antlers to the orange you used for the mask. And I actually think that would look pretty cool. But perhaps that's just me, you don't have to change it.

Hmm.. I still love this Egoti set, but I can't say that I totally fell for the new orange-ish color on the mask, it just doesn't seem to fit with the overall set as it did before. And I know I'm just being picky and maybe it's just me, but I'm also not much of a fan of the yellow on the ankles from the hooves, it doesn't look as.. uh.. clean to me as the original design does where it's only the hooves that are yellow?

I do agree with this. I think it'd look nicer if only the hooves were colored the yellow (or orange if you decide), opposed to it fading down at the ankles.

Unfortunatly I cannot change that

I'm not able to color the hooves alone due to a UV map problem I cannot change :3 BUT I do however agree with WonderfullySarcastic and alcinda about the color. I was thinking the same the whole time. It's not the same type of yellow but more orange. However I find this color almost golden-like and more rich. So, I am thinking of making the other yellow (pelt and antlers) to the same golden color

^ Yes, I really like this idea of making the other yellow the same golden colour instead ^^ and personall I like the sort of gradient between the hooves and legs, but that's just me. Maybe it's because gold-only hooves would kind of remind me of the nightfall pelt, which we already have.. though, no matter, I think it looks gorgeous either way.

A few more changes were made

A few more changes were made : Changed the yellow color of the antlers and the pelt (made it more golden) And also tried to add the color only on the hooves and not too much on the legs

LOVING those new changes you

LOVING those new changes you made, it's coming along so beautifully ;; the orange/gold on the pelt seems almost too.. brown / washed out to me though somehow? Like it's too muddy and not bright or golden enough. That might be just me though. This is looking fantastic!

I really love the changes you

I really love the changes you made. The antlers and mask are really beautiful now, love them. The orange color looks awesome. I have to agree with Xemi as well though, I think the pelt should have a little brighter orange to go with the mask and antlers. Yes, it would be perfect then. Or I'd like to say it would be stunning.

Felt so bad for everyone who's concepts I didn't have the time to make because there were still some amazing concepts I saw before and I would have liked it if I did have the chance to make every good concept. But in the end I did what I could

As with everyone else, thanks for creating so many beautiful sets! I hope some are chosen to be placed in the game.
I didn't get to comment on the egyptian set before you finished, but I really love it. You have managed to make the mask look hand crafted and mask like, stylised, rather than exactly like a cat. I hope it is not too predator like for M&A, personally I think it looks rather like an egyptian bull. It is gorgeous either way.

It was really fun to look through the pages of this thread. I hope that some of the designs will make it into the game. I can really see the time and effort that was put into them.

Maybe the next time something like this happens I might try to take part. ;3
