Shiba is a wolf that will be involved in Mitsuko's plot. She is mysterious, and many do not know much about her. After so many years of roaming around Nippon, there are many myths and legends about her. But, here a tiny but of truth that only few know:

Shiba is a Hokkaido Wolf, a species that is thought to be extinct by humans. She is one of the last few of her kind; her father, also a Hokkaido, was born in a small pack where all the Hokkaido wolves in the world live.
Many years ago, Shiba's father fell in love with Yue, the famous wolf-deer that had predicted Mitsuko's coming. Shiba never got to see her father, as he was killed by unknown reasons while Yue was pregnant with her. When she was born, Shiba had an orange tint to her pelt, which is why Yue named her Shiba (Shiba means Brushwood in Japanese). The orange tint faded away later, but she still kept the name as she thought it unique and creative.
Yue's deer genes never passed down to Shiba, so she is pure wolf. However, Shiba was born able to shapeshift into other animals. It is usually said that this was on her mother's side, but Yue only had the power of prophetism. Her father was very unknown so it is unknown whether this was from his side or if this was just a mystery...
Syaoran the wolf-deer was born around the same time as Shiba was, and lived nearby. They became friends as pups and carried their friendship with them as adolescents, and then to adult wolves. Shiba was also friends with Anawa and Minowa, Mitsuko's parents.
Over time Shiba began to grow very close to Syaoran and fell in love with him. When she asked him to be her mate, Syaoran, being asexual, at first refused, saying he just wanted to be friends with her. After a while, Syaoran reluctantly said yes but didn't pay much attention to her as he never wanted to start a mate relationship in the first place. When he didn't want to be with Shiba, she would seek out Anawa and Minowa.
It was like this for a long time until Syaoran suddenly went insane and took over Nippon and Toushin. Shiba, heartbroken and angered, broke up with him, and "moved in" with Anawa and Minowa. She spent almost all of her time with them, shedding all her tears and letting out all her emotions to them.
Shiba went through a huge depression, but eventually got over it. She stopped spending so much time with Anawa and Minowa, but was afraid to leave the herd they lived in, as she didn't know any other safer place at the time. The herd let her live with them, knowing that as she was immortal she did not need to hunt deer.
After a long time of suffering under Syaoran's rule, Mitsuko the Arubino Shika was born. Anawa and Minowa couldn't tell the young doe anything about why she was special or why she was the "Chosen One" and why she needed to stop Syaoran, so they decided to wait until she was old enough to understand. But soon Syaoran heard about Mitsuko's existence, and the parents had to tell Shiba about Mitsuko. They told her that at times she must come into the Endless Forest and tell her about her past and give her help, and make sure she is safe. Shiba promised she would do this and ran to the portal, watching as they pushed Mitsuko into the portal. Shiba knew this was Anawa and Minowa's end, and said one final goodbye before hiding, watching as they were taken away to their deaths.
Shiba will be seen in the forest in different forms, but her true form is a Hokkaido Wolf. In every form she will be brownish-tan with German Shepard like markings. She has pink wings, but only Mitsuko sees them, others see her wingless.
She wears a golden band around her head and blue feathers. She also wears a black belt carrying a Katana Sword. It is unknown if Shiba has drawn it.
Like Yue, she has prophetism but very little of it. She sometimes dreams of future situations, but they are always blurry and very confusing, and very little help.
Although she may have teeth, claws, a sword, and wings, if all these weapons were taken away Shiba would be killed. She is not as strong as most think and is made for flight- but she would rather fight.
Mysterious, many do not know much of her personality, but she is tomboyish and not afraid to get her paws dirty. She loves to run and burn down all of her energy, and loves to sleep. There are nights, however, where she is restless and would rather run throughout the night and howl at the moon.
