All of the other Reindeer...

Are there any other Caribou or Reindeer?
I mean technically they're the same thing..

What I was thinking of doing, was drawing some TEF deer as Santa's reindeer with bells and red tack and all.

So, are there any other Caribou or Reindeer out there? there's Zelig and Toukan, for sure...

If not I'll pick some other deer that are kinda like reindeer =P Like Dag and Virgy and some of the other realistic ones, etc, you know.

Thoughts?

The name that rings in my heart...

It's yours, Gwenhyfar.

I hope this isn't all too sudden, for you. Think it over if you like. But seeing you so ill and fragile has made me terribly worried. I felt, it was best to say it now...

Think it over. Don't feel you need to say anything at all. I'll always be near, if you need me.

Zelig's Emotes

His most common emote combinations, and what they mean.

Every Day
*Bow = Respect. "I've heard a lot about you; it's an honour to meet you" or "Thank you!!!"
*Bow + Confused = Curtsey. "Good Morrow!" or "Why, Hello, Miss." (More often to Does or recognised friends)
*Paw Ground + Dance + Confused = Invitation to Dance. "Party time?"
*Paw Ground + Lay Down = BRB. "Just a moment..."
*Turning around in circles + Pawing the ground + Lying Down= Getting Comfortable. "Well, while we're here why don't we settle down."
*Rear + Roar = Joyous bellow
*Sad + Roar = Empassioned cry

Movement:
*Hopping whilst walking slowly= Prance, Prance, Prance...
*Hopping whilst trotting = Prance Prance Prance!
*Jumping and Running = Bounding. "Whee!!"

During Rain:
*Standing over Sitting Deer = Umbrella Mode.
*Listen On+Off = Shaking coat. "I'm soaked!"
*Cowar+Sad+Cowar = Shiver from Cold. "Brrr!!"
*Standing Close to anyone = Huddle together for warmth "Brrrrrrrr!!!"

During Rut:
*Paw Ground + Dance + Confused = Invitation to Dance. "You have such lovely hooves... I bet you dance well!"
*Lower antlers + Confused = Invitation to Spar. "Best Two out of Three? C'mon, you pansy!"
Walking slowly amongst does or rutting stags + Listen = Pose. "Check out this sleek coat..."

Any Seers?

I'd like to set up something for Zelig. I'd like him to find out what happened in his past life, before he came to The Forest.

This requires any deer that could somehow, through magic or perhaps psychological suggestion, start to trigger dreams that slowly piece together into fuzzy memories...

Which I will write episodically and possibly illustrate, too, over the christmas period =P

Any Takers?

Advanced Emote Combs

Because I want to see something more positive on here, dangit!
(and just so I can get the joke in, C-C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!)

These are some longish chains of emotes that I use, and what they mean. Share yours!

Taking a bath:
Step 1: Go to the shallows in the pond, away from the reeds, where it's very deep without being Frog-Depth. A drink is optional, makes it clear you're interacting with the water.
Step 2: Sit down to let the water clean your back.
Step 3: Stand up again and quickly hit Laugh, and wiggle in place by turning while on your back, so that you get every last bit of fur wet.
Step 4: (Optional) Sit down again, lather, rinse, repeat.
Step 5: Walk out of the deep shallows, til the water is hock-high, or up onto the bank.
Step 6: Hit listen, then hit it again very quickly; Now you're shaking off the water! Do this a couple times to get all the water out.
Step 7: Sit in a sunny patch for a while to dry off. Now you're squeaky clean!

Of course, you could always just stand under the Crying Idol and have a shower, via this:

TAKING A SHOWER!
1. Stand under falling water of the Crying Idol.
2. Press 'listen' twice as quickly as possible, so that the deer just shakes it's fur. C:

If you perchance catch a cold, use this fun emote combo to express your blocked sinuses!

Mega-Sneezes:
1: Hit your spells button
2: Select whichever one you like (I go with the one I don't care if I lose)
3: As fast as you can go under your emotes and laugh; this should give the effect of sneezing so hard you fell over. (Works very well for mini's since they seem like they would be easy to knock over...'least Ady does anyway. ^x^

Feeling better? Or is your nose cold?

Debating: Is it Debatable?

Ladies and Gentleman, a debate is not an argument, nor is it a flame war, nor is it a /bad thing/.

If we are all the intelligent, mindful, creative people that I believe us to be, we should all be able to conduct, direct, and engage in a debate about whatever topic.

I caved. I have a few critters from a couple sites, and before now haven't had anywhere to put them.

Zelig's Diary - 15/10/09

Today I met the Great Dead Deer. Or the Big Zombie Dear as some folk like to say. You know who I mean- grey pelt a little on the rotten side, wide antlers, skull face, and /enormous/.

Well, I tried my best to get my Halloween costume in the customary way from him, but I suppose he found himself all out of magic, and vanished just before I could try. I was left with half a pelt and antlers, but no skull. Ah! Well. There will be other times.

My day was vastly improved by the inclusion of Dag, Fay, and a little troop of undead deer and fawns. We sacrificed our holiday guises for a trip into the pond. Dag was very kind to allow me another one of my dizzy spells, and when I got to my feet I was suddenly- Blue! with yellow spots! I thanked him graciously when he then gave me the same brown spotty number that I had some few days ago. I stuck with that for the rest of the day.

Dag retired to sleep, rather reluctantly. I wanted to do the same. So I moved my achy frame to a flower bed, and settled amongst the butterflies.

When my eyes drifted open, she appeared- Lady Gwen at my side! Not in her usual appearance, but looking quite a bit plainer. We immediately set off to rectify this with a little spell adjustment. In return she gave me my accouterments back.

But the magic was in the quiet moment we shared, just sitting side by side. Weary as I was, I stood by her side and kept a bit of a look out- I know she likes to have someone guarding her. Tiredness overtook me, and I sat close beside her, my fur mingling with hers. Before I knew it I had put my head down, and was dosing again. She did not move a muscle, and I sighed a very big sigh of relief, and napped for a while, waiting to see if she would also lay her head down beside mine.

Theatre Troop! *actors, writers, poster artists- helping hooves required!*

*Altering this to include participants, cast, etc.*

We have Seed the Bard, Iaurdagnire the Wise, who respectively write lovely poetry and prose. We have a game, with a host of actions, reactions, and combos to create a vivid dialog without text, and we have a creative player base.

Let's make a deer acting troop!

=The Plan=
We will use pelts, masks, antlers+adornments, and other spells as 'costumes'. We will put a 'play program' on the community website in the form of a blog post, with poster and information of showing times, naming the characters and who they're played by, and a little about what happens in the story.
We could redo works of Shakespeare, or collaborate on our own tales!

=Who's Involved?=

Cast (deer names):
Zelig
Oberon
Adonis
21
(Ocean's deer)

Research:

Writer(s):
Seed(? or did you want to act?)

Artistry:
21 (possibly =D)

Stage Hooves:

=Current Projects=
None =P

Can I ask everyone to make little roughshod applications for your deer for this? I don't need to know much, but you should know that it's likely you'll need a fastish computer to be able to be an actor in the forest. Just stick something in a reply, like your deer's name if they want to be an actor or writer, or your own info if you'd like to volunteer by designing posters for the event, or provide artistic interpretations of how the plays would look (ie if you're an artist) Or what have you.

I had an idea for the troop's first production: Orpheus and Eurydice, also known as "Orpheus in the Underworld". It's where Orpheus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orpheus) goes into the underworld to find his wife, Eurydice, after she dies. He finds her, and pleads with Hades to let her go, and he allows them to leave, on the condition that Orpheus could not look at Eurydice until after they reached the surface. Unfortunately, he looks, and Hades whisks her away again.
