I changed my character's name

It's been a really long time since I've been here, but I often think about and miss the Endless Forest. Recently I've thought about my character's name and back story and realized that the name didn't really work, so I changed it from Adrien to Cypress. If anyone would be interested in roleplaying with Cypress, I would be happy to. <3

It's been too long

I haven't played The Endless Forest in so long, I don't even know how things have changed since I was last on.

Anyway, I really want to get back into roleplaying and building my character, so I'm opening up for character interactions. If you are interested or just bored and have some free time, please go talk to him? He is a lonely deer who wants desperately to make deer friends and learn all that he can about deer culture. Having been abandoned as a fawn and raised by a family of rabbits, he will be awkward at first but should finally be able to understand and adapt.

{Searching For A Father} (character giveaway)

I've been toying with the idea for a while but wasn't quite sure how I'd go about it, but...

What if Adrien were to meet his biological father?

His entire life, the only father he has known is Isaac, but he's not stupid. He knows he was adopted and that the Rabbits are not his biological family. I can just imagine him strolling through the Forest one day and happening upon some kind of Deer gathering in which he might just happen to bump into an older stag with a similar dark colouration, similar facial structure (oh yes, dat biggish nose), maybe even purple eyes; and they'd just stare at one another for a moment.

They might or might not even notice it at first, but the other deer around them might point out the similarities, and suddenly: revelation! The older guy might not even know any more about Adrien's mother than dear bunnystag himself knows. It would be an interesting interaction/plot, seeing how each of them would react to one another and adjust to the idea that he exists.

To be honest, I don't expect anyone here to make any kind of big changes in their character profiles or commit to a long-term father/son relationship (I mean, unless you want to; that's fine with me), but it would be a lot more fun to have the mystery stag being controlled by someone else instead of me just writing the whole story by myself. If I made him up, he would be boring. I'd probably make them too much alike, and they'd live happily ever after. I'm not saying that's a bad ending or that I don't want it to be that way, but I would at least like to have some surprises.

So, if anyone has a character that fits the above criteria (or would like to create one, I don't really care either way) and are willing to have him associated with my deer in this way, please do post about him here. If there is more than one offer (which I doubt there will be) I will choose whichever one I think fits best, and then you can choose how we will start the interaction.

{Grammarshine's Sketchbook - Updates}

These are mostly unfinished sketches or works-in-progress. I may also include a few finished pieces. I hope you enjoy, and please don't be rude. c:

{I search entire Forest; only find alone-ness.}

Okay, so now that Adrien's closest friend has died, he is in a slump of loneliness and depression and is aimlessly wandering about the Forest. However, if he were to meet another deer kind and understanding enough to befriend him, maybe he could be pulled out of the darkness and become the shining, happy stag we all know he was meant to be. Maybe he could even find (dare I say it?)... love.

So go ahead and post your interactions here, if you're interested in roleplaying with Adrien.

One thing you should keep in mind is that Adrien still hasn't mastered Deer language yet, so his poor grammar is intentional and not a mistake on my part. I may also sometimes use italics to indicate that he is speaking Rabbit; it is up to you to decide whether or not your character can understand this language, but I would think that most deer wouldn't, logically.

Hmm... should I play this character?

There's this character I made a while before I discovered TEF, and he fits well into a nature/forest type of theme, but I've been hesitant to try using him as a roleplaying character here because he's so different from most other players' characters that I've seen. Instead, I settled on making my main deer character somewhat similar to him (he's got similar markings on his fur but not much else in common), but I've recently thought about seeing if I could somehow make him a resident of the Forest. I've decided that I will only do so if it doesn't bug other people too much.

I wrote a short children's story based on my TEF characters.

If anyone has any suggestions or notices any mistakes in the writing, please feel free to comment. I'm thinking about actually trying to get this published. I'll probably post illustrations on here once I get them done as well.

Rabbits! {W.I.P. family bios}

***

They had never seen anything like him. The other fawns in the forest always seemed to be running about, calling out to one another, making a nuisance of themselves, but this fawn that had been dropped into their den slept peacefully and did not stir. Where had his mother gone? Why had she left him here? Days passed, and still she did not return, and they all began to worry. None of them knew a thing about raising a fawn, but... without their love and care, he would never survive. What choice did the rabbits have but to accept him into their family? Due to his coat colour, which was slightly darker than that of other fawns the'd seen, they named him Adrien, which means "The Dark One," and they raised him, a deer, as their own son.
