Okay, so now that
Adrien's closest friend has died, he is in a slump of loneliness and depression and is aimlessly wandering about the Forest. However, if he were to meet another deer kind and understanding enough to befriend him, maybe he could be pulled out of the darkness and become the shining, happy stag we all know he was meant to be. Maybe he could even find (dare I say it?)... love.
So go ahead and post your interactions here, if you're interested in roleplaying with Adrien.
One thing you should keep in mind is that Adrien still hasn't mastered Deer language yet, so his poor grammar is intentional and not a mistake on my part. I may also sometimes use italics to indicate that he is speaking Rabbit; it is up to you to decide whether or not your character can understand this language, but I would think that most deer wouldn't, logically.
Could I use my Connor? He's
Adrien looks lovely!
Thanks, and yes! c:
Okay, I'll start then.
All around the young buck was the sound of frogs, flies and birds. His ears craned in farther towards the noises of the pond, trying to pinpoint them, but there were too many. He couldn't focus. With a sigh Connor lay his head to the ground and stared at a flower which was right in front of his eyes. It swayed slightly in the wind, and though it's movements weren't as entertaining as hunting for animals to play with, it was enough to keep him from total boredom.
Adrien awoke in the Great Oak
He dragged himself to his hooves with a groan, stretched, and yawned, then, feeling his throat was a bit dry, he started toward the pond to get a drink and wash his face.

Inhale. She closes her eyes, her sight traveling the forest. A stag- running through the Amber forest. Two fawns romping through the Ancient Ruins. Lovers, perched next to the Crying Idol. The smell of fresh pouring tears, she could smell too. Exhale. Her vision of the forest fades now as she returns to herself, lying down in the shallow parts of the pond.
Her ear twitched, she sensed another being approaching. She closed her eyes in anticipation..
Adrien approached the edge of
He stepped into the water and thrust his face downward into the cold wetness, gulping it down and feeling renewed. He stood and shook out all his fur, blowing droplets out of his nostrils and blinking his eyes clear before finally opening them to look at the new day.
The mystic doe opened her
As she took in a deep breath she caught the smell of another close by. With a bit of effort, she slowly rose to her hooves. The dripping and splashing of water could be heard as she lifted her weight from where she was lying in the pond. The fresh water and mud had drenched her underbelly and legs thickly, though her form was absorbing the water and mud into her system as if a sponge. Soon her pure white pelt was no longer dripping with water or stained with mud, instead just damp.
She craned her neck this way and that until she saw Adrien directly across from her at the edge of the pond. Her black circular eyes stared at him for a few moments until she lowered her head downwards and said in a hushed feminine voice, "Hello, new being."
Adrien jumped slightly at the
The being tilted her head
She trotted over to him and stop right in front of him. Her owl-like face was almost completely flat but very wide, the only thing distinguishable thing about it being her wide round eyes. Her nose was like an owl's as well (minus the beak). Her thin feminine human lips pressed into a small smile. Her pelt was completely white and looked as if it were made out of feathers. She looked soft to the touch- like she might fall apart if someone pressed her or she might be blown away by the wind. She looked youthful- in fact, perhaps it didn't seem she had an age at all. But her large antlers showed her true age- for they looked old, worn, and withered.
She leaned forward a bit, closing her eyes as she sniffed his sides and neck. Her ears flicked forward- she could smell blossoms, mushrooms, and another scent she wasn't all too familiar with yet.
She was quite uncomfortably close to him, to which she was oblivious of.
Adrien was confused by this
Finally, he introduced himself. "Name... Adrien." He gave her a small, uncertain smile.
The doe laughed as he
The doe laughed as he sneezed, and it was a smooth hearty laugh. She gave a nod and said, "Good."
Then she stared at the water and her muddy hooves, thinking of what he should call her. She finally replied, "You name me."
The stag tilted his head in
The being gave a nod. "Yes,
She walked past him out of the pond and tapped her hooves on the ground to dry them. She turned back to him and said, "I have no name." So you can call me whatever you want."
Adrien trotted out of the
She seemed like she might be a motherly type of deer, but Arminta was his own mother's name, so he couldn't call her that. He thought of how his sister Chamomile emulated her and cared for younger rabbits all the time... but he felt that this doe needed an original name. He thought of all the plants he'd seen in the forest -- his family had a tradition of naming their children after plants -- and remembered one that had long, elegant leaves, like feathers. It was perfect.
"Can call... Fern?" he asked finally.
@grammarshine} I miss RPing
I miss RPing with you... :'(
The doe smiled. "Yes, of
She felt happy she was given a name by someone. She had not many friends in the forest, even though she could call everyone by name if she wanted to. So to be granted a name made her feel accepted by at least one deer, and for this she felt humbled.
She turned away for a moment and sniffed at the ground, stubbled with lush grass, at an attempt to sniff out something to eat. Her stomach rumbled with starvation. She didn't really need food, however she knew she should still need it because of her physical form. The doe looked back at Adrien and cocked her head. "Hungry?"
@Fainalotea Now might be a
You can jump into this story any time you want, of course, and you can use any character you want; it doesn't even have to be a deer. :3
@grammarshine} OH yes! Good
Hearing that word made Adrien
"Know where flowers good for eating," he said. "Want some?"
@Fain, yes, of course.
Do you want to start, or shall I?
@Yay! I think I can start it
I am really sad though, that Adrian is active again after Flora's death. It would have been really fun to RP with them two one last time...I may have even kept her alive. Maybe Flora's spirit can come to Adrian in dreams or something, but I do not know. She really loved Adrian, but after the months of our RP dying and stuff, I thought you did not want to RP anymore or would most likely not return to TEF. And now that she's dead, Adrian's back and open for love. I hope he finds it... TT^TT
Also glad to see you active here, again.
The doe gave a wordless nod
Adrien motioned with his head
The doe followed him, ambling
The doe followed him, ambling a few feet behind him. She passed right through plants and trees, parts of her breaking off into mist, feathers, and butterflies upon touching the physical atmosphere.
Adrien looked behind him and
"H-how?" he bleated. "How to do that?"
The doe looked around
She turned to face a large tree. Slowly, the being walked through it, her body breaking into a swarm of white mist, feathers, and butterflies. "I do," her voice rang around him.
Then the cloud of substances drifted next to him and pieced her back together as if she was a puzzle. Her wide eyes looked at his calmly, and she reappeared completely beside him as if she had not undergone any transformation in the first place.
The look of amazement on
"Wow!" he exclaimed, wagging his tail excitedly. "You are spirit? I have spirit friend?" He bounced around her like a fawn, forgetting his manners.
At first she just stared and
She was so overwhelmed with pure happiness that she had never felt before. Suddenly, she uncontrollably burst into a flow of white feathers and mist, which hovered around and above him until they were slowly blown away by the wind and all that remained was a single blue butterfly. The blue butterfly floated and flew around his head until it landed on his antlers.
The sight was so beautiful
"Catch me!" he shouted as he ran.
The butterfly fluttered this
The butterfly fluttered this way and that to follow him and then transformed into a doe once more. She ran and ran after him, grinning with glee. Though she could barely be heard except for her voice and laughter- her hooves were too light on the ground.
She felt young, for once. Finally, she was brought into the moment, not of it, but in it. Not feeling infinite, but finite. It was the happiest she had been, so much so, that for the moment she forgot all about her growling stomach.
Even in his excitement,
"Home," he said, "and food. Be filled, friend." He then leaned down and began to nibble at the delicate pink leaves.
((I know there aren't actually any pink flowers by the Oak, but I'm inserting headcanon for the sake of the story. I've read that you also have your own headcanon about the tree; feel free to insert yours if you want, but I don't really mind either way. You don't mind if we mix them up, do you?))
(Nope I don't mind one bit!
The doe looked at the flowers and then at Adrien. She mimicked him, munching on the petals of the flowers. They felt soft and moist in her mouth; she liked the texture. As she ate, she glanced at the sleeping dark red doe in the Oak. She knew her; well, not personally, but she had often seen the doe all around the forest sprouting flowers and rejuvenating all green life- especially in the old oak where she spent most of her time. Perhaps, she thought, it is how the forest stays endless. But she did not know.
Usually the guardian would be up and running, though it seems she was napping in the Oak. The being gave a silent bow to the sleeping guardian, then continued to eat.
Adrien also looked toward the
"Who she?" he asked.
The doe looked up at him and
The doe looked up at him and up at the towering Oak in wonder. "She is the guardian of this oak and bringer of almost all green life in the forest..."
Then she looked down at the pink flowers. "She made these this morning.. I saw her."
"She is resting," the doe pondered, pressing close to Adrien as she knelt down to eat a few more flowers. "Let's not be too loud in her respect."
The stag nodded in agreement
"Rabbit family," the doe
She looked at Adrien, nodding to the Oak and taking a few paces towards it. "Show."
It sounded more of a thought or demand, though she intended for it to be a question.
Adrien pondered her request
"Okay," he said. "Follow."
Between the roots of the giant oak was a tunnel, partially concealed by long grass, leading downward. He was too big to fit now, but as a fawn, Adrien had fallen into this tunnel and was adopted by a family of rabbits living there.
He now leaned toward the opening and called out in Rabbit, "Mama? Papa? I am home, and I've brought a new friend to visit; she is a spirit." He stepped back and waited, and soon several little rabbits emerged from the tunnel.
((Oops. I was having server
(It's all good :>) The doe
The doe watched, tilting her head to the side in curiosity, as the rabbits emerged one by one from the tunnel. She took a few steps back to allow them room. She lied down in front of them; she thought it would be rude to be standing and look down to them. The doe bowed her head in respect of his family.
With a serene smile, she greeted, "Hello."
Then the doe reached back and plucked out a long white thin feather that had blended in with her fine fur. She set it on the ground in front of the troop of rabbits, presenting it as an offering.
Her eyes were wide and dark as she watched them, eager of their response.
The mama and papa rabbits
Arminta (mama) said something to Adrien in Rabbit, and he translated for the doe.
"Mama say feather is beautiful, and much thank you." He smiled.
A young bunny with fuzzy black fur hopped toward the feather and began to stroke it; then he hugged the doe's leg and dashed shyly away to hide behind Adrien. The stag chuckled and explained, "This Moss. He love deers."
The doe blushed as Moss
The doe blushed as Moss hugged her leg and chuckled as he scurried away. She "awwwed" and giggled, "Oh no, please come back.. I don't mind... And I'm pleased you all like the gift."
She looked at Adrien with a tender smile. "You have a lovely family. I like rabbits."
Then she remembered the name she was given and looked at Arminta and the others. "My name Fern," she replied in the broken language, bowing her head again to them. "I am a being of sight and you are all equals in my eyes. You have an ally in the forest."
All the rabbits' ears perked
"Do you want to come down into the tunnels?" squeaked Moss. "My mama and sisters are down there." He was bouncing up and down with a huge grin on his fluffy bunny face. He didn't seem to grasp the concept of size and space relationships and had no trouble believing that a deer could fit through the tunnel entrance. (He assumed the only reason his cousin didn't go into the warren anymore was because it wasn't as "cool" as the forest.)
The being's ears flicked
The being's ears flicked forward and then this way then that, shocked that she had obviously caught their attention in some way. It made her slightly nervous now, she hadn't talked or introduced herself to so many in one day.
Then her attention was directed to Moss. She leaned closer to the small bunny, her face right in front of Moss's. She sniffed at the rabbit, making the connection that this was one of the scents she had smelled on Adrien.
Adrien could see that Fern
"Want go somewhere else?" he asked.
She hesitated, her eyes
"Take Moss..?" she asked.
Then the doe turned to Moss and asked, "Want see forest?"
