Kita trembled and turned slowly in a circle as she lifted her head high, ears strained as she was located Atvana, the one that she wanted to speak with. She knew that it would be able to help her, would be able to tell her if Furfur was returning. She turned and bound forward, racing over the terrain toward her destination. She skid to a stop, spotting the deer laying a few feet before her.
"Atvana." she stepped up beside her friend, watching as it turned it's gaze toward her. She shivered a little, it's stare was intense, drilling into the doe. She trembled as she shook her head, looking back at the deer before her
"I need to know, Furfur, is he going to come back home soon..?" she asked softly.
The smallest of smiles curled across the deer's face,
"Are you so sure he's left?" it asked her, voice even and calm keeping the eye contact with Kita.
She frowned confused and glanced away and down thinking, he might not have left. She glanced back the way she had come and turned a bit. Seshi had been Furfur before he had died. Is that what Atvana had meant? Seshi had come back so Furfur was inside him and had never left? She looked back to ask the deer what it had meant before frowning, it was gone.
A sigh escaped her lips before she turned, walking along back toward where she had left Seshi and his son. She slowed as she came down toward the small flower patch they had been in
"Um hey" she whispered and stopped, tail flicked as she gazed at him.
"Come to yell at me again? I told you already I am not leaving, I am the one who is here to stay" he watched her quietly, frowning a tiny bit as he watched the doe who had come to a stop, ears pricked toward her.
"Listen I am sorry... I know that you aren't leaving now. But I mean...I am sorry..I don't know what to say..." she lowered her head as she gazed up slowly toward him from under her long lashes
He rolled his eyes toward the heavens, studying the sky
"Well I forgive you then." He couldn't seem to bring himself not to accept it. He smiled gently as he watched her eyes brighten up, head lifting happily.
She moved to his side, nuzzling his neck and side gently
"Thank you" she whispered and looked over his shoulder spotting Finata and Kalpita bounding off around the trees. Kita stepped back, looking at Seshi, tail flicking happily, relieved that he had forgiven her.
"I am going to rest...if that is alright?" she smiled and gently lay herself onto the ground as he gave a nod. Her head lay on the ground, smiling gently as she watched Seshi moved to her side, laying down beside her, curling his head down beside hers.
Kita didn't know when she had drifted off, her body curled against Seshi's warmth. She woke as she felt a bit of a pull on her side and her eyes opened slowly, looking back toward her shoulder where she felt the mask moving against her shoulder.
A nameless stood beside her, the same one that had stole her mask, she was sure of it. He was after Furfur's mask again, she couldn't let him not again!
She struggled up, bumping Seshi in her attempts to get up, trying to get to her feet and away before he had taken the mas--
She spun,
"NO!" she cried as she felt the rope slip from around her neck, the mask in the mouth of the nameless
"NO GIVE IT BACK!" he spun on his heels, taking off through the trees. Tears lept into her eyes as she bolted forward after him, she had to catch him.
Shock slid through her as she saw the large stag bound past her. Butterfly marked his pelt, long tines curled over his back. Seshi. She must have woken him with her struggles. She looked confused though, why was he after the stag also. She frowned a bit, ears flicking back slightly, he must have been doing it for her...
She followed quickly, bounding along behind her stag as he bear down upon the nameless.
Skidding to a stop she stood back out of the way, eyes on the two stags as they faced off. She trembled scared as she studied first her stag before she studied toward the nameless. He was powerful, broad chest and thick legs. He would be an even match for Seshi she was sure. He didn't look like he was in good health though, probably one of the disadvantages of not having the protection of the gods.
A shiver slid through her again as she stepped back, watching as the two stags sqared off, the first rearing up in attack. She prayed silently to the gods, prayed that Seshi wouldn't be hurt. Even if it did mean she lost Furfur's mask for a time, she would get it back. Seshi was her only connection to Furfur, she couldn't stand to lose him. Not again.
