(Bio/RP blog) ~The Doctor~

Zyzzy's picture
(Under the cut)

Note: Originally Zyzzy was more an original character inspired by the Doctor- hence the different history, abilities, etc. However, his character has begun changing more into an archetype due to meetings with other characters from the universe. I'm choosing not to change his bio because I'm lazy xD If interacting with the Doctor, you can choose to ignore the differences, or integrate them into the RP/scenario, whatever you prefer!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bio
His true name is a mystery known only to him. He likes "Zyzzy" though; heard it somewhere in his travels and grew to like the weird, funny word so much he made it his name. He is not a god, though he lived when the Twin Gods were building this endless forest. He comes from another place altogether, now long gone from war and destruction. The gods of his world created his kind with hope for a peaceful place, but in the end destroyed their creation, their only hope left being to prevent the spread of the evil that was born there. In his refusal to fight, but instead try to help the injured(where he was given the title of Doctor by many on both sides of the battle field, and still carries it with him to this day), he was spared by the gods, who placed him in another world to start life anew, no memory of his former life to haunt him; but when he awoke, his memories and powers from that old life remained. And so he is the very last of his kind, carrying a planet's history and magic with him as he wanders...
His kind were called Time Lords, because of their mastery over life and death; they cheated the cycle of life with their abilities, and so became eternal spectators of the universe, watching as worlds were born and developed around them, and even helped them in times of crisis- few had the means for travel, used wisely by those deemed worthy enough to be gifted with it. Another gift of the gods to the Time Lords was regeneration- when the body is mortally wounded or simply wears down, an instant reincarnation occurs, creating a new body to shelter the same soul and mind. They had a magic of their own, as well- the ability to understand another completely. By standing near each other, one could sense another's physical health, feel their emotions and even hear their thoughts on occasion. Their minds were open to each other, so with a simple touch one could truly feel another's place in the world, and then help them in the best way possible. They had a wide knowledge of herbal and magical medicinal knowledge, and could heal themselves and others with ease. With these levels of connection, trust and well-wielded power, their world and many around them thrived in peace for centuries... but not all creatures had these gifts of magic and endless life, and an evil was born when jealousy and malice crept into the hearts of a few, to be spread like wildfire into many. The rest is a dark history he wishes not to repeat. All he knows is he is alone now. As he walks the earth in his 400th year, the last of his kind, no companion staying by his side for long- and how can he expect them to? 'Long' to him is centuries; to most living creatures it is mere years- he wonders whether this life is really a gift or a curse...
But in the end, for all his experiences, both good and bad, he always, always, remembers it is a gift better than any other. He has seen other worlds, and traveled the lengths of them. Met incredible people and creatures, made life-long friends, seen spectacular things most could only dream of, and for him, it may never end. How much cooler can things get? He doesn't need an answer to that question as he makes his way into a new corner of the world... a place inhabited only by deer, and with a magic all its own so similar to his... how could he resist making himself at home?
Hello everyone. I'm the Doctor.
Info:
Name: Real name unknown. Goes by Zyzzy or the Doctor. Those names are cool.
Gender: Male
Age: 900(doesn't look a day over 450 though, he swears!)
Pan-romantic
Species: Time Lord. Has had many regenerations in many species. Currently: Stag.
Set: Silver/grey pelt, orca mask, wears poppies in his antlers.
Picto: X
Personality: Silly, charming, witty, wise. He is incredibly talkative and loves telling and hearing stories. Especially loves fawns for their 'newness' to the world, and likes to play with them and show magic tricks. Beneath all his charms and good humor are a few dark corners, though. He draws others in and manipulates them into doing what he wants- he enjoys company and deeply cares for those close to him, but in difficult situations he's known for calling on those around him for help, or more accurately, to fight his battles for him. Most times it isn't even a conscious action, and he would never think of his ways of "making friends" in this light, but it's the truth. In this and many other ways he can be incredibly self-centered. Encountering 'dark' deer puts him in a foul mood due to his sensitivity to others, and memories of the dark spirit that ruined his world. He often creates a delusionally positive view of the world, and becomes angry when reality doesn't meet his standards. These things remind him that the world isn't as perfect as he wants it to be, and that negativity and darkness are everywhere, including(especially) in him.
Likes: Fawns, play-sparring, dancing, running, story-telling, meeting new deer, respect, sitting on the big rock at the playground, shiny things
Dislikes: Genuine fighting, prejudice, stupidity, arrogance(irony of ironies)
Other info:
- His ability to sense others' health, emotions and thoughts is limited with many deer, due to the very private and closed-off nature of many, especially to strangers. The closer you become to him, the easier it will be to sense these things. Others are simply open books.
- He will not heal or help anyone unless he is asked first, to prevent misunderstandings or problems. Sometimes, even if you approach him for help, he will refuse; he's not being cruel, but some things are meant to happen, and no one can change that. If he senses something is meant to be, there's nothing he can do.
- He *will* play tag with you, whether you're ready for it or not! If you see him running at you, stop to sniff you or roar and then run away, it means you're it!
- He is distracted by pretty things, and especially shiny things. If you have a shiny coat, wear any kind of medallion or necklace, or possess anything that shines, he will take an automatic interest in you.
(hopefully this will be a temporary bio... I'd like to have a fancied-up page, but CSS/technology in general is so far over my head its not funny. This works for now though! RPs welcome here, for whoever wants to.)
Anjali's picture
Anjali listened sleepily to
Anjali listened sleepily to Zyzzy's description of his world. It sounded a little like the Birch, here in the Forest—the Birch with its red earth and golden grasses that seemed to catch fire with the setting of the sun, with its trees that seemed to glow in the evening. But it sounded so different as well: colorful trees, places called "cities," and...had Zyzzy said suns, as in more than one?
"It does sound like a wonderful place. I wish I could've seen it." Anjali murmured. He gazed at the Timelord, with his grey pelt and his dark face, and then raised his own face to the sky again. The stars were reflected in both deer's eyes, when they looked up—a universe caught in their vision. "You must miss it. Your home." Anjali said quietly.
Anjali's view of his own home had been greatly expanded today, simply by meeting Zyzzy. The Forest was no longer the entire world, and the heavens themselves were no longer just a smattering of beautiful lights.
"Thank you...for telling me about it...Doctor." The buck's eyelids suddenly seemed made of lead, and his head first drooped, then came to rest on his folded forelegs.
In a few second he was dozing lightly, secure in the knowledge that his friend was nearby.
Things were safe and peaceful in the Forest, for the moment. But Anjali's dreams were strange.
Edit: Wow, we hit page 2! Do you want to keep going? I'm kind of out of ideas for where to go from here, at the moment...but if you want to take this RP in any direction, I'm totally up for it~ c:
*dancedance*
I'm out of ideas at this point too, so maybe this is where it ends for now x) If you ever want to do another one one of these days, by all means! Just let me know Smiling
Zyzzy looked to his friend, still intently listening despite his growing sleepiness. Anjali looked to the stars with him then, eyes opened to a new view of the sky above and all its possible worlds. "You must miss it. Your home."
The grey stag smiled sadly. "I do. Very much. But, I guess I can count myself lucky to find a place similar to it. We had a magic of our own, in a beautiful, secluded world... and here, its quite the same. I can be grateful to find a beautiful reminder of that old world here... how amazing is that?"
The last of Anjali's energy faded fast there though, and the buck lowered his head after thanking Zyzzy for his stories. It wasn't long before Anjali was sleeping, and as the Doctor laid beside his dreaming friend, small, faint images of new worlds and strange creatures popped into his mind, along with the almost nostalgic images of a world with fiery red grass and twisted trees...
"Goodnight, Anjali. May we have many more days like today." He smiled one last time in his friend's direction before lowering his own head, and joining Anjali in dreams.
"Hello Sweetie..."
The words fell from her lips like a small stream cascading over rocks that tried to stop its flow through the trees of the forest. Ears perked forward as she took a step closer to the stag, a confident smile gracing her appearance as she looked him over.
The doe was only slightly shorter then the grey stag and younger by a few hundred years. But oh... she had so many memories of him.
Question was...
Did he remember anything of her?
She didn't know what part of his time stream they were in at the moment. Though he seemed a bit younger then when they last met. The thought made a sharp pain shoot through her chest. That meant he probably knew less about her.
Ears dropped back slightly against her head, but she kept the smile on her lips, green eyes looking at him with a hidden sadness.
"It's nice to see you again... Doctor..."
Have you listened to "Still Got Legs"?
And you'll never guess who this is. ;P
"Hello sweetie..." Those
"Hello sweetie..."
Those soft words broke the silence of the woods around the two deer, and Zyzzy almost jumped in surprise, ears instinctively flicking in the direction of the sound. He hadn't even heard anyone approach...
He turned to face his company, and found a golden doe standing surprisingly close by, smiling sweetly yet sadly, green eyes sparkling with joy and familiarity as they looked him over. She was a total stranger to him, yet she felt so familiar... it unnerved him. Had they ever met? He's not even 500, he'd like to think his memory wasn't that bad yet! He could sense she knew him though, very well... she was an old soul, like him. But what was she? He couldn't tell. He knew though that, like himself, she was no deer. She held her gaze as he stood there in thought, and then as their eyes met, confidently smiled again and said,
"Its nice to see you again... Doctor..."
Doctor?
A small wave of panic washed over him as he struggled to think of where they could have met, who she could be, why she was here... she knew him, far better than he knew her, that was clear... shouldn't he remember something? Her name, who- what- she really was, where they'd met before, anything? His mind was blank... he felt comfortable in her presence, but still felt terrified at his vulnerable position before the unusual doe. He stepped closer, slowly, brow furrowed in confusion and concern, eyes locked with hers... and then a flash hit him.
A woman. A confident, wild woman. A time traveler. A convict. Golden, curly hair. Sparkling green eyes, young and bright but that held so much history behind them... the same eyes that looked up, just slightly, to his own right now.
He knew her. They'd met. They have history. He can't, for the life of him, even remember her name. The sound of water fills his mind, but the hint doesn't register. He simply steps closer, smiling hesitantly, and finally, in a soft voice, asks,
"Do... do I know you?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARGH Zyzzy doesn't know who River is, and I don't even know who you are xD We can't win!! I have a few guesses, though they're probably all dead wrong. Oh well, adds to the fun I s'pose ;P Sorry if I'm not too good at RP, still a bit new at it!
*zooms off to listen to the new album- didn't know there was one til now!*
The sight of his frame almost
The sight of his frame almost jumping at her voice made a soft chuckled escape her, the doe's tail flicking as she continued to watch him. His face was different... but of course it was different and so was her own. One moment, traveling the universe or sitting in a cell and the next in this beautiful yet mysterious forest and as a deer. Last she remembered she could not change again. She had sacrificed her future bodies and lives for... well... for him.
Green eyes continued to search his for any recognition as they kept their eyes locked on the other. River's ears perked forward as she watched the stag take a step forward, the confusion and concern plastered on his face as he thought.
Not long after, a spark?
A memory maybe?
Something caused his eyes to widen and he stood a little taller in front of her. But their eyes never broke contact.
The golden doe lifted her head as he once again stepped closer, if he were to lean forward their noses probably would touch. Then those words... those words she wished were never the ones to fall from his lips met her ears.
"Doctor? Please tell me that you know me. Or at least something about me."
Searching those warm, brown eyes again she then noticed how early it was for him.
"Look at you. You're young... still so young..."
She couldn't help but smile softly, even if her heart ached all too much. He was her with her. Her Doctor. There was still all their time together to come.
XD
Tell me your guesses and I'll see if you've got it right.
And it's all good. Roleplay takes practice, just like any other activity.
Tell me which song/s you like. =)
Really hope my River Song is ok.
Need to get into the whole Doctor Who rping.
I just thought River Song would be easy because two friends have said that I'm like her somewhat.
Oh... and River Song Deer with and without curls.
I was trying to decide which one to make what she would look like. But I think I'm going with the curls.
Zyzzy's picture
That veiled sadness in her
That veiled sadness in her expression was almost heart-breaking. What was it the two of them had shared? And when? He instinctually felt it was wonderful and exciting and somehow horrible as well... this mysterious doe who knew him so well as he stood dumbfounded before her knew many secrets. About him. Them. He was naturally intrigued, part of him practically bouncing up and down wanting to ask her questions- if she was foolish enough to answer, which seemed highly unlikely, much to his dismay; part of him was scared senseless. Was she from his future?
Standing close enough to touch, the golden doe looked up to him, whispering in an almost pleading tone, "Please tell me that you know me. Or at least something about me..."
He could only smile sadly to her, eyes suddenly downcast. "I'm sorry..."
Eyes to the ground, he studied the grass as he paused, hoping for an end to this uncomfortable conversation. He glanced to her hooves, a most interesting shade of red just under that almost glowing gold fur... and just a bit farther up one leg, an incredibly unusual contraption... it looked like a leather bracelet or a watch, but too many buttons and little knobby things and screens to be some mere toy from the human world... and it suddenly dawned on him why he felt he somehow recognized it.
Vortex manipulator. His strange new acquaintance had a vortex manipulator! How had he not even noticed that before? Where in the universe did she get that from? He only knew a handful of people who managed to get their hands on one and keep it intact... and then it hit him, as he stared wide-eyed and slack-jawed at the doe's feet.
The sound of running water. The wild woman with golden curls. The convict, the time-traveler, always running in opposite directions yet always crashing into each other, his companion, his teasing tormentor, and so much more...
"River Song." The words tumbled from him in surprise. Eyes snapped back forward, the dawning realization filling them with shock and surprise and wonder. "River Song." He smiled, saying it louder. "Even changing species can't keep us apart, can it?" He shook his head and laughed, still a hint of nervousness in his voice. He hadn't even recognized her. The woman whose presence could be detected from a mile away, standing right in front of him, and he didn't know. She was going to have fun with that one.
His gaze softening, the excitement replaced by a calm solemnity, he looked down again. "We always meet for a reason, don't we?" He paused for a moment, taking in the few adventures he could recall with her. She was still new to him... but she seemingly had known him her whole life. She always popped up- or crashed in, as the case may be- when something was about to happen. A feeling of dread filled him that he tried in vain to quell as he asked quietly, "Why are you here, River?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your River is fantastic! I hope my 11 is at least okay. xD He might be a bit ooc, but eh, Zyzzy is an archetype, so hopefully differences are accepted! And the art is great, nice to see what she looks like! Smiling Can't wait to see how her bio fleshes out.
I still haven't listened to a lot of the album- arrgh, you lack of free time! And as for who you might be, I can take a few poor guesses to either Anjali, Beaumont13... and I had 2 other people and they just slipped my mind xD Brain no workie, is late, haha. The other 2 are probably wrong too, but hey! Tis a guess Smiling
The small smile lingered on
The small smile lingered on her lips as she continued to search for a familiar spark in the stag's eyes. Something to tell her that he remembered, that he knew her. The sad smile as he looked down at her and the words that left him made her legs wobble slightly. But she kept the corners of her lips slightly up and stood her ground, ears lowered a bit now and the sadness and pain only showing through her eyes.
With the eye contact broken, River hesitated to take a step back away from the Time Lord, eyes moving away from him as she turned her head to the side. Eyes closed and she bit her cheek to stop the tears that were threatening to fall. Maybe she shouldn't have come now. It would've been for the best to stay away a bit longer.
But she missed his face and his personality and the adventures they would have, had... never have.
Opening her eyes she looked back at the Doctor and noticed a difference in his body language. An eyebrow rose slightly and she continued to watch the grey male in front of her. Had something happened that she didn't know about that made him like this?
Ears perked on top of the girls head, glancing around now to make sure there was nothing threatening. Just because she had no fingers and couldn't use her guns anymore didn't mean she couldn't pack a wallop.
"Is something wr-"
She froze mid sentence and thought at the sound of his voice.
Of those two words falling from his lips.
Her name.
River turned back towards him, ears facing forward as she looked into those beautiful, old brown eyes that had seen so much. The familiar spark she had been searching for now filled his entire form as he said her name again and asked a question that could easily be answered by looking at the two of them in that very moment.
Her smile had grown to a content smirk at the thought that he had not felt her present, even without knowing her at first.
The soft gaze made her heart skip a beat and she didn't worry when their gaze was broken as he looked down again. All that mattered was that he knew her and she knew him, even if it was still early in one of their time streams.
His words made the smirk drop and a serious expression replaced that of the happiness that had been on display just moments before.
"I wasn't sure if it was right... but some type of energy surge showed up on a scan I did when I first got here. Now that I know you're here I thought you might have some idea as to what might be going on."
@Zyzzy - Thank you and your Eleven is amazing.
Of course differences are accepted. Everyone plays a character differently and with their own little perks.
As for who I am, well I'm not Anjali as has been pointed out, and the other two guesses you can't remember are wrong as well. =D
But I would prefer to be just Spoilers on here. XD
@Anjali - Thank you.
And you're a wonderful writer. What I've read of Zyzzy's and your roleplay is wonderful.
@Both - We need an Amy, Rory and other characters.
The Doctor smirked at the
The Doctor smirked at the golden doe as she told him about the unusual energy surges in this area. "Ah, River... you, me, possible disaster. Do we always meet like this?" There was a playful glint in his eye, as if the somber stag from just moments ago had vanished. She was still mostly an acquaintance to him, in his personal timeline, but the few times they'd crossed paths before were certainly... adventurous. River and the Doctor, always running from something. Always saving the universe from some very-not-good thing. Weeping angels, the end of the universe itself... never a dull moment with the mysterious River Song.
Realizing he had lost himself in thought for a few seconds, he shook his head slightly and set to pacing. "Energy surges? What kind? Can you pinpoint where exactly its coming from? Any particular thing responsible for it? I've heard from others in this forest that a lot of deer are simply masking as such... there are more aliens and demons and otherwordly-weird-things here than you can shake a... well, hoof at. Any number of things could be responsible." He glanced inquisitively over at River, hoping she had some insight. He knew many things, good and bad, existed in secrecy around this place... where any of them the cause though? He wished he could still tell. He wished he still had a sonic screwdriver. Well... he wished he still had hands so he could actually use said sonic. And his TARDIS... what happened to her? These were things he strangely hadn't paid mind to until just now. Maybe it was the deer brains... messing with this thoughts and jumbling his memories of things. Changing species will do that to you. Speaking of...
"Do you have any idea why both of us are deer all of a sudden?" He asked, suddenly changing the topic with a positively confounded look on his face, as if it never occured to him to ask that before, or even think about it. "I'm a deer now. A deer! And why are you one too?! Was it something we ate last time we met? I swore I'd never eat those Silashian mushrooms no matter how professionally they're prepared- who knows what could happen to you if they're not properly cleaned and cooked in the perfect conditions!" His aimless rambling continued... some things never change, whether to the delight or amused dismay of his newfound old companion unknown as she let him roll on.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I seeeee! I had a hunch, hehe. And Spoilers it is then Smiling And thank you!! <3
Not again. Not someone else
Not again. Not someone else who somehow knew everything about him though they've never even met... could River clone herself or something? Did she have children? That thought was both amusing and disturbing. Either or both were possible with that woman. More than one River in his life and he might not live to the end of a day! But as the owner of that strikingly familiar voice walked closer, a feeling arose that hadn't in a long time... too long a time. That innate, instinctual sense that another Time Lord was present. Couldn't be. How could it be? Refusing to get his hopes up, he looked over at his new caller and found... a pony. A pony? He sighed.
"Sorry, do I know you? Did River send you? Hardly known that woman a day and she's already turning my life on its head..." but as he spoke he glanced over the smaller horse... a light brown pony with an unusual hour-glass mark on its hindquarters. Huh, that would suit me pretty well. Hourglasses are cool. Wonder how he got that. The eyes were what struck him the most, though and sent a nervous flutter through him. Old eyes. Wise, cheerful, mad, haunted eyes. His eyes. The feeling, which had only intensified as they stood there. The hour-glass mark. The eyes. The voice, the attitude, the look...
"Oh, that is ridiculous. Absolutely impossible, incredibly dangerous and utterly insane." He stared at the pony, who stared right back with that infamous attitude of old. "How very me. Us. Whatever." He smirked. "But... wait... nevermind me, I was here first! How on earth are you here?!"
Oh, this wasn't good. There
Oh, this wasn't good. There had to be something wrong with this. It was against the 'rules', for one. Two, who knew what would happen when two incarnations meet? Wait, it had happened before, by chance... but it was a thing to avoid.
It felt awkward to be staring at, well, yourself. Actually, it was downright embarassing. Here this wonderfully magestic fellow was... and here he was... a bloody pony that lacked basic hooves. Shameful, absolutely shameful.
"River? That creeper deerhumanthing with the Vortex Manipulator?" the pony tilted his head, his spiky brown mohawk flipping to the side. "Do tell, me. Do tell." he waved a circular foot in a small circle, eyes brimming with instinctive curiousity.
"Yes! Yes! Completely mad, but you're on the upper hand... hoof... thing..." he grinned, his bushy tail swishing back and forth. "Explaining how I got here would require me explaining how I look like a silly girl's toy... Do I really have to get into it? Or do you go first or what? Dunno." he sighed.
River couldn't help a
River couldn't help a heartfelt chuckle pass her lips and she moved to lift her maw up next to his ear, stepping close enough their shoulder's touched softly.
"Oh Sweetie... Is there any other way to meet?"
She asked, a soft playful purr echoing in her voice before moving to let a soft plume of her breath tickle his ear before stepping back. She continued to watch him quietly before his body turned and he started to pace. His usual mode of talking and spilling information kicked in and she moved to sit back on her haunches, lifting her leg to look at the Vortex Manipulator's screen again. Bringing up the information she had gathered from before as he continued to talk, she scanned it for any clue to an exact location of the surges.
She felt his eyes on her and glanced up before back down to the screen, carefully maneuvering one of the toe-like hooves on her front-right foot to play with the buttons on the small machine. The rambling on the species change and the mushrooms made her roll her eyes. Letting out a small snort to at least grab some of his attention, she answered as best as she could.
"There are a few certain points around this forest where the energy - whatever type it may be - is concentrated more then others. The pond for one, which I passed not soon before I found you. The statues of the forest gods seems to be connected to it also. Well... really any place that has some significant value to the inhabitants of this forest seems to be a concentrated area for these surges."
She glanced up to make sure he wasn't going to interrupt at the moment before continuing.
"As for what's causing it. I don't know. The time vortex... maybe what ever brought us here? And the species change... Well Sweetie... again I have no answers. But it's not all that bad is it? I mean... animal instincts... River winked at him then, tail flicking up in a flirty manner as she stood. She always found it fun to mess with him in his early times. She loved seeing him get all flustered.
---
I knew you'd have some idea. Sadly there aren't a lot of Whovians on here. ;A;
You're welcome. ^^
Oh... we'd probably have to find someone almost as crazy as Amy herself to play her. XD
Zyzzy's picture
He stared, slightly
He stared, slightly dumbstruck, for a little too long after her dirty joke, her smirk spreading at the sight of his embarassment, only making it worse. Was she always like this? Did she do this to everyone, or was he her only target? And what could that mean? His head always spun with possibilities and questions when River was around. Crazy woman. Crazy, time-traveling woman who knew his future. Well, no wonder she liked to mess with him. He'd probably do the same.... not that that made it okay!
Snapping out of his thought-cloud and focusing on her earlier musings on the energy shifts, decidedly ignoring her flirting- for now- he furrowed his brow as he thought out loud. "The pond, the idols... is the oak one of the areas as well? Anywhere of importance to the deer here... something is intentionally targeting these points... for what? Do they have something stored there, inside or underground? Maybe even sapping energy from them? Travelers with low fuel or energy in their ships will often target areas of high energy on nearby planets and suck them dry to keep moving... sometimes to fuel weapons, or to disarm the inhabitants of their own defenses. But this place... its peaceful... no weapons, no malice, nothing..." he sighed almost wistfully at that thought.
"What could be targeting this forest, and for what reason?" After a moment's thought, he added in surprise, "Do you think something's followed us? Something tracked me- or you- to this place? Do you have any idea?" It was unlike him to rely on others for answers- typically he knew before anyone else, and made a proud show of proving it- but he was dumbfounded and more than a little concerned at that latest idea. What if something had tailed one of them? After all, if they were here... who knows what else could be?
Spoilers's picture
She always loved making him
She always loved making him uncomfortable. Even when she didn't know him that well when she was younger. He was just too easily flustered. Hey, if you have it... Flaunt it, right? And no, he was not the only one she flirted with. But he was the only one where she meant it. After all... they were together. At least, in her timeline. She wasn't sure if his time line was up to that yet.
She listened to his words, brain kicking into gear as she thought about what she had learned of this place and what could be happening for all these energy surges.
"If there is something here, trying to get the energy, then it's not showing up on the scan. It might just be because this place is so full of the forest magic, that the Twin Gods have placed upon the land and creatures here, making the Vortex Manipulator go a bit wild. But I would prefer to be safe then sorry.... River stopped for a moment as he mentioned how peaceful this place was, looking at him with a genuine smile this time.
"You're type of place? No weapons or fights. But I guess you'd miss the trouble?"
It was then, with his words of being followed, that her mind jumped back to the two creatures she had met not long after she had got here. Letting out a breath she looked Zyzzy straight in the eye, seriousness in her body language.
"If something is following us then we are not the only targets. Not long ago I met an Ood that had been turned into a deer also... and I met something else."
@ DrWhooves: Zyzzy sensed
@ DrWhooves:
Zyzzy sensed his counterpart's confusion and discomfort, and had to admit he felt quite the same. It was a little strange to be staring at another, younger version of you. And this time they were animals. A deer and a pony, both previously human-looking, both Time Lord. Both the same person, in fact. He wondered briefly if he had been drugged and this was all a strange dream. Maybe some of the mushrooms here aren't edible... that had to explain it. But then... this wasn't very dream-like, was it? Not for him, anyway... and besides, he almost never slept. Odds were, strange as it was, that this was indeed real.
He heard the pony's remark on River through his wildly running thoughts, and had to laugh. "Oh, so you've met our River? Do you remember her from before? I think we met her a few times, in different regenerations... maybe... this is all a bit hard to keep together." He shook his head. "Our timelines are a bit wibbly... keep meeting at the wrong points. She knows everything about us..." he sighed. "And we typically know nothing about her. Figures, really." He smirked. "You'd be better at dealing with her than me. Always had that wit and cheer, you. Me, well... I'm a genius, of course," he smirked wryly at his previous self, his- their- ego showing through- "but I lack that charm and wit of yours, it seems. And apparently my fashion was never quite up to snuff." He huffed, remembering his teasing from the bow-tie days. What was so cool about spiky hair and suits anyway? His bow-tie was cool, thank you very much, and he would defend that even as a tie-less deer.
"But anyway... now you've just intrigued me. How on earth have we got ourselves here? You a pony, me a deer... each in our own separate, continuing timeline, somehow meeting... and nothing is happening! The paradox should be ripping time itself apart! But we were always good at doing things our own way, damn the consequences, eh?" He smirked. "Me.... its really all a bit hazy. After traveling on my own for so long, I suddenly find myself in a forest. And... as a deer. I don't quite remember, honestly. Its been quite some time since I've seen the TARDIS... maybe we've parted ways. I obviously can't fly her anymore..." a hint of sadness reached his voice at that. "I don't know what's happened to so many things. TARDIS, sonic, its all gone... I'm just here, still on my own... aside from myself, it seems. I'm not even sure why." This was the longest he'd thought about his sudden appearance in the forest, and the species change. What had happened? Obviously he regenerated... what caused it? Is it why the TARDIS was gone? He was suddenly quite troubled. Shaking it off, he glanced back up to his pony self, smiling again. "Now, you tell me why you're here... and a pony. And how you got that spiffy hourglass mark! Hourglasses are cool, if you ask me."
He could sense that little
He could sense that little rush of joy that came over her anytime she made some comment that flustered him, or started flirting... well at least someone was having fun. Though he couldn't deny that he enjoyed it as well... had to wonder about that. Instantly he had to wonder about his- their- future. She knew it all... and, quite unfairly, he knew nothing. Were they...? He had to remember to pay attention to River as she questioned the possibility of magic causing the haywire energy... Forest magic, makes sense... this whole place has a strong kind of forcefield about it, probably placed there by the Gods... keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out! Or try, at least... it might keep their magic confined to the Forest, but it doesn't do such a good job of keeping all unwanted discord out...
He chuckled at River's comment about missing trouble. "Oh, trouble never escapes me... I know you'll always show up eventually, dear." He smirked, inwardly a little shocked. Dear? He's calling her 'dear' now? What was she doing to him?
He snapped out of his thoughts as she mentioned some rather interesting encounters... running across an Ood deer- "Ooh, an ood? Love an ood! Wonder why- how, actually- they could be here! And if their brains are actually in their heads this time... little hard to hold it with hooves, hope so for their sakes!"- but his cheer dropped as her own did, and her features darkened, voice lowering as she confessed, "... and I met something else."
His eyes widened at the possibilities of that statement. What else was here? What else had followed them, somehow, to the Forest? A small, but genuine pang of fear reached his hearts as he looked with deathly seriousness back into River's unwavering eyes, softly asking, as if he didn't want her to hear for fear of the response, "River... what else is here?"
@Spoilers- Nooo! Where did all the ponies go?? Thats a shame... hope they come back! Whooves was a fun character.
@Chickenwhite- Its super effective! xD
Love the way the new bio looks. Even as a deer daleks look incredibly intimidating... actually a little more so as deer now that they don't quite resemble a giant fancy coffee machine, as Craig Ferguson once put it, LOL!
I sense an RP in the near future.... >.>
A game she would always keep
A game she would always keep at. 'Little Rush' was an understatement to what she felt when she made him all flustered. It was more like a feeling of accomplishment and a way to know that, even when growing apart, she was still loved in some way by the man that was her world. There was still so much of their relationship he had to live to see. But just as he would, someday, come to realize when it came to the time when she knew barely anything about him, so would it be for her... and the thought made her heart break slightly. Her smile faltered a little and she had to look away from him, not wanting her sadness and worry to show through.
His chuckle caused her to glance up at him from where her eyes had rested on a few flowers growing at the base of a near tree. Her smile grew again and she couldn't help but chuckle, fluttering her eyes as she noticed that he had called her dear. It was nice to hear him say that again. Though she knew the next time she met him after this adventure he would probably know her less.
"You don't have to worry about the Ood. He seems perfectly fine and just interested in meeting you." She said before the atmosphere around the two became slightly tense. Her eyes didn't break the hold they had with his, knowing that this was of utmost importance for this forest and its inhabitant's safety.
The sound of her name in the tone of voice he now possessed sent a shiver down her spine and she swallowed a small lump in her throat.
"It's different from others we've met Sweetie. But your worst enemy is here. Doctor... there's a Dalek in the forest."
---
I don't know and I agree. River was having fun playing with the stallion. XD
But Zyzzy/Eleven will always be her Doctor. <3
Chickenwhite's picture
Glad to know I'm not the only
Glad to know I'm not the only one! XD And GAWD, he has such a brilliant way of putting things XDDD I'm really curious as to how this Doctor would react to meeting "Deerlek" XD
Zyzzy's picture
"Your worst enemy is here.
"Your worst enemy is here. Doctor... there's a Dalek in the forest."
That name made his hearts skip. His oldest and most hated enemy... the most evil things in existence in virtually the entire universe... and one was in the Forest. It didn't make any sense, this sudden gathering of creatures from outer worlds in this tiny place, a forest totally undiscovered by earth's inhabitants. Why were they here? What purpose did the Daleks serve here? Was it a deer too? At that, despite his fear, he barked a laugh, and began reasoning out loud, more to convince himself than River.
"A Dalek? A Dalek deer? No, no... that's not possible. It must be something else. They would have to reconfigure their entire DNA structure to adhere to another species, mixing Dalek with deer. At the very least they would have to replace a deer's brain with their own intelligence system and life-support to make it a living robot. Either way, why would they? They despise everything that's not pure Dalek. They even kill each other. It would be an abomination to them." His rambling ended, and he stayed rooted where he was, searching River's eyes as he spoke for an explanation. Hoping she had one. He could tell by the tone in her voice and that deathly serious gaze that she was not just playing some mad, cruel joke or making a mistake... she had actually seen it. Knew for a fact. He lowered his eyes, sudden anger bubbling up to meet his shock and anxiety.
"Where is it and why is it here?"
Spoilers's picture
River didn't break the eye
River didn't break the eye contact that they started, not daring to look away as the information processed in his mind. She was still in just as much shock and confusion as he was as to why such a horrible, loathing creature had found its way into this peaceful place. The last thing any of the inhabitants of the forest needed was something that wouldn't think twice about killing every single living thing here.
The laugh caused her to jump slightly, not expecting it, but she moved to cover her slight fright with a raise of an eyebrow and a small tip of her head. His reasoning was something she had subconsciously waited for. One thing the Doctor could do was talk and he was good at it. His voice stopped and the two of them stood in silence, staring into each others eyes. To someone who didn't know the situation or the conversation might say they were having a lover's quarrel or something of the sort. Well, they wouldn't be far off with the adventures she had been on with him.
His question cause her to straighten up, turning her head to the side but keeping the eye contact. She didn't want to break it just yet.
"I left him by the twin god statues. He kept demanding that I take him to the source of the power in this forest. But I think he believes that the magic here is just some type of energy that can be tapped into and used at will." She said, ears flicking back at the sound of a roar from another deer somewhere in the forest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Doctor snorted at River's response. A typical Dalek... assuming everything that existed could just be stolen on command and used against their 'enemies' to oppress and destroy them. It had no idea what it was dealing with in this Forest... but he sighed, shaking his head at that thought.
"Impossible as it sounds... if there is any conceivable way that the magic here, this energy, can be sourced to a power-spot and then tapped into, to use against the Forest and its people... the Daleks will find a way to do it." He looked around... he could see the Twin Gods' hill in the distance... not too far from where they were standing now. He couldn't make out if anyone was there, but he'd soon find out.
He looked back at River, determination set on his face. "So we're going to find our Dalek first," he said as he quickly set off in the direction of the Gods' hill.
Spoilers's picture
River was not surprised at
River was not surprised at the Doctor's reaction towards what the Dalek had been planning on doing when it had demanded it be taken to the Twin God Statues. It was her reaction as well, she just had kept a straight face as not to anger the already screeching dustbin. She flicked her ear at his words, a small frown gracing her features as such a possibility was not something that they could take a chance with.
"Well then, there's only one thing to do..."
The sound of his voice as he ended her trail of thought had the golden doe smirking as she moved up beside the grey stag, keeping up with his quick movements as they made their way towards the two, almost Easter Island looking monuments to the creators of this forest and its inhabitants.
"How is it you can read my mind?" She asked playfully, letting the length of her body brush against his. He didn't have to answer and she knew he had an idea that he didn't. But she couldn't be to sure with a pre-Demon's Run Doctor.
The vortex manipulator beeped twice as they started climbing up the hill, signifying that the energy reading had increased as they neared the place where a few deer were bowed down on their front limbs, heads resting against the worn ground from the many who had passed before. River was not one for religion really. There was only one thing close to a God she believed in... the mad man standing next to her as they stopped.
Ears twitched and green eyes scanned the area.
Wherever the Skaro native had gone... he couldn't have gone far.
Spoilers: D'awwww Laughing out loud Such an awesome siggy of those two!
*blushes, but grins mischievously* "Well, I'm never one to break traditions! Well... wait. I can't say that, nevermind, I'm practically the king of breaking rules and traditions, but..."
Chickenwhite's picture
Alright, I think I'll go for
Alright, I think I'll go for after he got attacked by Cyanide, just to mess a bit with time and be forcedly funny that way.
After all, time isn't a straight line, it's more like a ball of yarn, all... wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... <___<
So I'll just jump in now >w<
---
Not far from where the two time travellers were standing, something glinted dully in the grass between three thin, white trees.
A smooth, metallic, copper-like surface symmetrically dotted with sensory orbs running down the sides gave away the Dalek as a few rays of sun licked his armour.
He'd moved away from the praying deer, maybe because he didn't feel like exterminating any of them at the moment... Maybe because of the promise he'd given River Song and the Tenth Doctor not long ago.
A Dalek who'd sworn not to kill anyone... Now that was hardly a Dalek at all! Such strange behaviour from the little mutation encased in metal...
And speaking of strange behaviour... He seemed to be asleep! Head resting in the grass, body still as the grave and no light in his eye stalk. It seemed like this forest had truly done some extraordinary things to his body...
Zyzzy's picture
I LIVE! I'm so sorry that
I LIVE!
I'm so sorry that this has been dragging. Its not that I'm uninterested or even just forgetful- things have just been insane. Jobs, illnesses, holiday craziness, and a rather crap internet connection to boot = no TEF. Sad Bah. Luckily the connection issue has been fixed(yet again. Hopefully permanently this time!) and things have cooled a little, so I will be on more often now, and this will finally get moving xD If this has been abandoned due to total lack of progress, sorry!! I'll still respond, and if anyone wants to keep it going, by all means!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How is it you can read my mind?" He heard playfully from behind before a body brushed against his, and soon River was right beside him as they briskly made their way to the hill. He smirked at her, bumping her gently back as they went, demeanor equally playful again, if only for a moment. He could hear the vortex manipulator's increasing activity as they got closer, and his hearts sped up slightly in anticipation of what they'd meet at the head of that hill.
Reaching the top, standing before the massive stone idols, the two scanned the surroundings for anything unusual. A sparse handful of deer knelt at the hill before the Gods, but otherwise... nothing. Perplexed, he walked in a circle, seeking out anything reflective, any glint from a metallic surface or an unusual light or energy...
And there it was. Just off to the side, hidden just slightly in the trees and taller grass, was a most unusual creature. The Doctor could make out the raised orbs on the body from where he stood, and as he walked closer, saw the impossible dalek-hybrid in full, as it lay in the grass. Quadrupedal, with the build and appearance of a deer... but its entire body was metal, mechanical... designed to be an unstoppable soldier, as a true Dalek was. The trademark sensory orbs lined its copper sides, eyestalk jutting from the forehead in place of more mammalian eyes. Body built sleek, streamlined, but still slightly boxy and robotic looking. Zyzzy noted with confusion that it appeared to be unconscious... and more unusual, damaged. Sections of the metal appeared scorched, and no light emanated from its eyestalk. He couldn't tell from the position of its body, but it almost appeared as if it were missing limbs. What on earth got the better of the murderous Skaro native?
Zyzzy's curiosity then slowly faded away to the realization of just what he was standing over, and the more rational and instinctual side took over once more. Once again, he found himself staring down at his greatest enemy. The most hate-filled, murderous thing in the universe had made its way to the Forest. To River. To him, once again. He felt a long forgotten rage begin to boil over in him again as he looked down at the abominable creature. In a voice that betrayed his collected demeanor, he commanded the machine below him, "Get up. Get up, Dalek."
She watched the stag's movements as he made his way in a circle around the top of the hill, looking in every direction for the strange creature they were looking for. His form stopping made her turn and it wasn't long before she spotted the metallic sheen from the surface of the bronze armor. She followed. Stopping a little way back from where the Time Lord stood, towering over the Skaro native.
River kept silent. Not sure if speaking at this moment would be a good idea as the Doctor's muscles seemed to be rather tense, his body rigid where he stood. She wasn't that surprised as he was staring down at his life-long enemy laying before him, unconscious on the ground. She shifted, ready to jump between the two if something were to happen. The Dalek was still injured after all and after the last meeting with one of the Doctor's incarnations that happened to be in this forest, the golden doe was starting to feel a little sorry for it. Not that she would let it show.
Ears held forward, she watched as he commanded the alien to rise, keeping her distance still, but green eyes watching the stag's body.
The reaction was instantaneous.
A blue flash lit up the eyestalk almost aggressively and the deadly laser - now one of the creature's "antlers" - was directed at The Doctor's hearts with terrifying aim.
But then... The creature slowly lowered its weapon.
"Doc...toor?..." It rasped incredulously, not sure whether this was the same Doctor it'd met not long ago.
The eyestalk rotated from side to side, focusing, collecting data, apparently reaching a conclusion soon after.
"This is not possible..." It screeched quietly, what would have been a mumble if its voice was not a perpetual tormented scream.
