For those who may not know what's going on please look at my last post titled "Leaving The Forest For Awhile".
This will be a direct C/P from my LJ.
So I thought I found my computer today. This is just another weird story to add to the already weird theft of my laptop.
So when I got to UCO I decided to take a nap before class. It turns out my Latin class was canceled so I had time to take a three hour nap. I woke up at around 10 and when I looked around...
There was a guy sitting next to me with the exact same laptop.... BRAND NEW. So I look at him suspiciously and he already looks suspicious. Something just didn't seem right about him.
So the conversation basically goes "This may sound weird but can I see your desktop?"
After a weird and rude look he shows me. It looks either brand new or it was recently reformatted. So I tell him that my computer was stolen and if I could look at the bottom of his computer for the serial number so I could compare and he... re..fused...?
YEAH. The guy refused! And he was acting like a complete douche saying that just because he had a computer he must be guilty and stupid trash like that. So I'm like "Dude... you gotta understand. I'm suspecting anyone with that model. I just want to see the serial number."
His response "Well I'm watching videos on Youtube!"
So I warn him several times that if he doesn't comply I'll have to call security. He continues to act like a douche and says something about how he serves his country in the army or some shit and he deserves better.
Dude... if he's in the army... THEY WOULD EAT HIM ALIVE. Why? Because when the cop comes up, same one I dealt with when it was stolen, he IGNORES HIM. He turns the music up on his god damn computer and ignores him! The cop basically demands he turns it over and guess what?
The computer wasn't even mine! WHY THE HELL WOULD THIS GUY GO THREW SUCH BULLSHIT IF IT WASN'T EVEN MINE?? I mean... SERIOUSLY. If it were you and I explained the situation wouldn't you just go "Yeah sure here." Then I'd see it wasn't mine and say "Okay thanks. Sorry about all that." and walk off! IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL! I'm just a person trying to find my computer!
But the day gets better. A little after I got to work I got a call from the computer forensics lab. Basically they need my friends power cord so they can turn on the replacement laptop. So I call her and she goes and according to her they were finger printed and got to watch them pull up a bunch of files on the other computer and finger print it. So hopefully we're a lot closer to getting the loser that stole my computer.
I find it kind of weird though that they never called me about what happened with the finger printing. I had to call my friend to find all this out.
Wait... this means they don't have a power cord anymore... so did they get everything they needed off of it? I guess they did... Hmmm...
Well hopefully more news tomorrow. I'm going to continue to scope the Nigh building out when I don't have class. Since I have the same schedule as I did the day it was stolen tomorrow I think I have a better chance of running into the thief.

x-x I kinda got in trouble with the cop but he at least understood why I was acting so suspicious of him. We already know my thief isn't very smart and they have been known to return to scenes of the crime and just the fact that he was such a jerk. He'll never last in the army. Army men are supposed to be respectful. He's just a jock douche. I did apologize when I saw it wasn't mine though.
