I'm new... help?

Um, I'm not sure what to do. I know you really not supposed to do ANYTHING, but I don't understand how to interact with other deer.... Or anything for that matter XD So, if anyone could give me a crash-course in how to play and enjoy this game, that'd be great...

How about a "Nameless" Day?

I'd first like to say I can up with this idea from Quad's lovely post about Nameless deer of the forest. Please check it out! c:

I was thinking and we all know that the nameless truly do enjoy the forest. And as Quad said they don't worry about cliques, sets, or anything. They simply play the game.

I think it would be nice if we could all do this again. I'm pretty sure we have all played as a nameless at some point and for me it was a very long time ago. So I'm thinking we pick a day in which we all run around nameless. I think it would be great for our whole community to go and play with everyone. No one can be left out or excluded because you don't know who is who. C:

Mmm. Just an idea. If you guys like it please tell me. C:

Sea Turtle finds a camera

Interesting video a friend of mine showed me. This sea turtle found a camera that it tried to eat, and somehow managed to record a video while swimming around.

A temporary farewell. . . : (

Well, my friends internet is being extremely poopy this week, connection nazi, No TEF for you! And Thursday morning I'll be leaving for Mio (michigan) til Sunday for the biggest tubing trip ever, every year. Totally excited, but I feel I'll be going through TEF withdrawals. I'll make sure to do lots of running through the forest and take lots of pictures for my fellow deers. : ) See you sun or mon! Maybe I'll still get to play once before I leave.

How can I increase my framerate on TEF?

The game is really laggy for me and I was wondering if i can do anything to fix that? Any programs I can use to help?

They... a tribute

They never asked for anything other than to dance and laugh. Have you ever noticed that?

They don't ask to look special or different. The only accessory they ever wear is flowers in their antlers.

They may not understand what we're saying to them, but in the end, they always smile and nod their head.

They nuzzle anyone and everyone without fear of mates, pride, or antlers.

They are not concerned with the latest gossip or news spreading around.

They love the Forest without question, and it loves them back.

And when they leave, it is bittersweet, because we may never know if they will return, or if we'll ever get to meet them again, but we enjoy their company and treasure the memories they make for us.

....Nameless...

The Firebringer

I've been wanting to gift the TEF community with this blog since my joining over a week ago, especially after exploring many post's and discovering among them many writers, as well as seeing the writing events across the site. Writing a story for the Fables event the other day, I used Herne, the God of deer, provoking my need to do so even more. Then another event arose in the mix, The Fawn Storyteller. This also brought many memory's to my mind from one of my favorite authors books from years ago, David Clement-Davies. So with those few thoughts, let me ask, has anybody in this community read "The Firebringer".

Sorry to get off topic, but let me tell you a little first on how I had come about this author. Bear with me. =]

I remember my first time seeing one his books. I can't well remember the age, but I'm sure it had to be before I was in highschool. I was walking through the mall with my mother, and of course, being an avid reader, she stopped at one of the book stores. I always go through the books as well to look for interesting ones. As I searched through the many stories upon the shelves I came across a thick, white, hard cover book. Pulling it out I found only two eyes of a white wolf on the front staring back at me. Being that I loved wolves, and reading, I had to have it! Only at that time it was still a very expensive book, so this was not to happen.

But I never forgot that book, called "The Sight". In my "early years" of highschool I spent much of my time in the library during lunches, actually writing a book about wolves, as in my earlier years of writing I was into animal fantasy. On one occassion I had decided to check into this mysterious book I still longed for from years ago. Surprisingly, my library had it. I went to the isle it was located in and found it sitting neatly on the shelf once again, waiting for me to read it. As I went to grab it another book caught my eye, of the same author, "The Firebringer".

An FYI about Quad and love...

Just a little heads-up to all you young does looking for a mate and eyeballing Quad...

Sorry, but although his mate hasn't been around lately, he is the faithful type.

I know this seems like a mean topic to post up, but I've noticed a lot of 'love-at-first-sight' topics/comments going around on the community site, and also have noticed in-forest that some deer who Quad dances with and such seem to hang around him a little too close later on. There have been at least two does that were following his every move and stuff when I was trying to take screenshots.

Long story short, I know there are does that like big, fat, goofy deer like this:

...but he is taken. Please look for someone else to be your mate. Eye

Oh by the way, Mazey (Quad's mate) did mention that she's gotten her TEF fixed, so she said she plans to pop in the Forest some more.

And Quad will be waiting for her at the Crying Idol.
