Venetian blinds slats, weaved together, then painted on with acrylics using household sponges. The "silhouettes" were created by laying down cutout shapes and sponging paint around them, and peeling the shapes away.

Last year, I had mentioned somewhere that in ceramics class I was making an udu drum - a ceramic drum based off a type of African drum.
On the drum, I carved in images that represent the Forest.
This was the first shot I took, where I forgot I had flash on still. I thought it would turn out washed out, but you can see how surprised I was by how dramatic it turned out.
