A Valentine for Payton

For Payton

How do I tell you, doe who once feared that river-jump, of
How long and poppy-stalk slender your legs have become;
How the red-honey smell of poppies lingers behind you;
How your dark eyes shimmer like the motes of light flickering in the air;
How your laugh is the pop-pop-popping of bubbles blown by koi;
How your fur is as soft as delicate dandelion down;
How your touch lights the world in soft gold summer-light;
How when we dance, when we stand nose-to-nose, when we run, oh
How do I tell you
How I am flying?

((I'll probably put the poem up alone for Seed's Poetry Corner later...also, I like writing sappy love poems.))

Paavo's picture

Cupid's Bow Missed

I can't draw with a crap...but I can take pictures and mess with the settings. XD

This is just a small idea I got while putting away my cello after messing around with it. The picture is full of symbolism to represent Paavo's current state. So allow me to explain:

For those who know Paavo, his cello is the gateway to his heart and soul. He lets lose of everything whenever he plays thus explaining why he's so passionate about it. In the picture, we can see an empty cello case. The case itself represents Paavo; with the cello missing, it is suppose stand for him not being complete. (After all, you wouldn't buy a case without a cello to put in it.) Something is missing...

The little silver piece inside of the case is a heart. Yeah, you guessed it. It's suppose to represent his heart: so small and delicate...The state he is in.

Finally, we have the cell bow. This is simply a play on words. (Get it? Instead of being hit with an actually bow...He's hit with a cello bow since he's a cellist.)

I wouldn't necessarily say that love (as in a mate) is missing in his life (despite the title), but just love in general. Feeling cared for...Having friends...Feeling like today's worth living through. I wouldn't call him "emo", just lost. After the latest role play he was in, I've realized just how lost he truly is.

*drum roll*

Ta-Da! There he is! After four days of waiting, I'm finally revealing "Deer". Whoever guessed the name- Xerxes (Zurk-zes) - they guessed right.

I don't have his full biography completed yet, but here's a tidbit about him:

Biography: Xerxes' father was originally a god-like deer created by the twin gods to go out into the mortal world and try to bring peace to it. While out in the mortal world, his father fell in love with a doe whom he beared a son with making Xerxes a half-mortal. (In other words, he does age and can die but he ages very slowly thus why he still looks so youthful even though he could be hundreds of years old.)

Both his father and himself became depressed as they watched all their mortal friends and loved ones (including Xerxes' mother) age and die before their eyes. The pain was almost too much for the pair. Xerxes thought it was unfair to be immortal because of having to deal with lifetimes of suffering. He soon began to question their motives when he was tempted by an "evil entity". The deal was that Xerxes would let evil be victorious in at least one forest and in return, his mother would be resurrected and granted immortality as well so the three could live forever together. However, the stag was tricked. By not stopping the evil, he ended up starting a war.

As his punishment, Xerxes was taken back to the Endless Forest and forced to relive fawnhood in order to regain morals that he's seemed to have lost.

Personality: Xerxes is more of a wandering observer than an active participant. He rather watch groups from a far than join in with them. He fear companionship in any shape of form due to knowing that he'll outlive anyone he tries to befriend or love. (Of course this doesn't mean he doesn't want it...)
