He feels compelled to teach the young about the forest and how blessed they are to have access to such a verdant and spiritually-endowed place. Though, he immensely enjoys being in their presence, and is often seen gamboling through the forest with a train of fauns, seemingly just for the novelty of it. As a result, his willingness to spend time with fauns designates him as a sort of caretaker, and other deer are free to leave their subjects with him for a time. Yet, mature individuals tend to grow tired of his constantly playful nature and need to interact. When he finds himself without a charge, he is most often isolated, for he has very few friends his age. This is when he meditates, to keep his mind away from his rather lonesome reality.
