It was about 3 in the morning and I couldn't sleep, so I turned on the computer, doodled this and went back to bed where I zoned out, lol.
If you run into Columbus in the forest, please don't feel scared, angry or offended when he sticks his tongue out and makes weird "ffllrbbrbtffbfbbbfbrt!" sounds, and/or raises his upper lip (he has no upper teeth). He's trying to show you he's happy and that he likes you! In the Forest I will be using the nodding emotion combined with hoof stomping for this.
For the curious ones, there's a little story behind this: I do a lot of volunteer work at a petting zoo, where we have a lot of goats. One of them is this gorgeous billy goat, who was the main inspiration for Columbus here.
*photo* Bad quality, sorry, it was taken with my cellphone.
He's really shy but curious and I often spend time just sitting near him to let him get used to me, mimicking the sounds he makes - he has this rather pathetic sounding whiny méééh. XD And I found out that when I mimick the sounds, he gets... happy or excited, I dunno, but he starts doing the raised lip and the tongue thing. It's so hilarious!
He also does it when we bring him a female goat he needs to stud, so it's kinda like he flirts when he does it.
There's also a female goat of the same species I love, cause she always demands attention and cuddles, and she does the raised lip thing as well during cuddle sessions.
So the way I see it, it's a sign of happiness, and the tongue-thing is like flirting.
I'm a goat whisperer! Or, maybe I was a goat in a previous life, I've been hit on by billy goats more than I care to remember. ^-^; *awkward moments*
