Memories
Tabiu's light grey eyes fluttered open at the sound of his mother's voice. "Tabiu.. Tabi," she spoke softly in his ear, nuzzling his head. He looked up at her, yawning, "Yes mother?" he tilted his head, before realizing that there was a small fuzzy shape lying beside her. "Who's that?" he gasped, leaning down and sniffing at the younger fawn. She smiled, "This is your brother.. Dieu," she told him, "say hello to him." Tabiu looked down at his sibling, sniffing him, "Well hello there," he spoke to him softly. His ears perked up as the fawn looked up at him, before pressing his nose to his, and then laying back down. Tabiu giggled, "He doesn't do much, does he?" he asked, looking up to their mother. "He's just a baby, Tabiu, you know that," she whispered, nosing his cheek, "in time, he will start speaking." He looked up at her, puzzled, "When will that be?" he asked, tilting his head. She rested her chin on his head, "Soon, Tabiu," she answered him, "soon."

Tabiu's ears quivered at the sound of rustling beside him. He opened a tired eye, barely able to see in the darkness. He felt.. an odd silence around him. Lifting up his head, he glared through the shadows, looking around. Suddenly, he felt pain piercing his chest. Where is he? He sat up immediatley, glancing around franticly, "D-Dieu?" he called out, quiet enough as not to disturb any other deer. Tabiu stood up, and creeped out of under the large tree trunk, peering around, "Dieu?" he whispered hopelessly, staggering about the quiet plains. As he sniffed around a bit, not being the best tracker, he managed to find.. nothing. His ears flattened, and he suddenly broke out into a run, pain and fury pulsing through him. Where are you?! he shouted repeatedly in his head as he flew through the clearing. He finally stopped when he reached the Twin Gods statue. His ears flattened, hate bubbling in his throat. "You!" he hissed, glaring up at the lifeless stone, "It's all your fault!" he snarled, "He's gone because of you!"
No. It wasn't some statues fault, he was just looking for someone or something to blame.. and that happened to be it.
"I hate you!" he snapped, before turning and bolting off again, fleeing farther into the forest. Tears flew down his cheeks, Why did you leave me..? he sobbed silently in his head, darting in and out of behind trees. He felt pain pierce his face as he flew straight into something.. no, someone. He glared up, cheeks stained with tears. His eyes widened as his blue-grey orbs met the stag's matching ones. The male stared blankly before turning, twitching an ear, "Follow me." Normally Tabiu would ignore such a request, but.. there was something about him. He nodded without a word, and headed after him, forgetting all about the rage flowing through him. As he followed after him, he felt a sense of.. peace. "W-where are we going?" he asked quietly, as not to disturb him. "You will see," the stag answered him, not looking back at him. Tabiu nodded, staring down at the blossoms blooming beneath him. This.. this reminded him of Dieu. He flinched, looking away and up at the stag.
Tabiu looked up ahead of them both, up at the large statue, the Crying Idol. "W-why are we here?" he asked in a hushed whisper. The stag simply looked back at him, before disappearing beneath the statue's tears. His eyes clouded in confusion, before he followed, shivering as the cold water seeped through his rough pelt. "W-woah.." he looked about the stone's interior, it.. it was absolutely lovely. There was something about this place.. oh right. A long time ago.. Dieu had shown him this place, lead him here with nothing but a few 'oh you'll see!'s to his questions. He was about to speak, but his breath was taken away as his pelt turned a bright, orangey-red. The stag didn't seem at all interested in it, as if he'd seen it plenty of times over. "Do you know who I am?" he asked in a dull, emotionless voice. Tabiu felt his ability to speak faltering, "I-I.. uh.." his ears twitched uncertainly. He didn't want to guess and be wrong. The stag narrowed his eyes, "You know the answer," he egged him on, ears twitching.
Tabiu stared long and hard at him, tongue feeling numb, "Y-you're.. my.. father?" he guessed, flinching as if he'd reared and bucked at him. The stag sighed, "Such uncertainty in my young ones.." he murmured. Tabiu's eyes lit up, "S-so you are, my father?" he felt excited, yet there was a second emotion running through his mind, and he soon frowned, "Why did you leave?" He sighed, "I had a feeling that question would come up," he murmured, shaking his head, "It was.. issues came up, I had to leave to protect you all," he answered. Tabiu's ears flattened, "B-but.." he couldn't think of anything to say.. there was nothing he could come up with to explain how he felt. He shuffled his feet, trying to come up with something to say, before it popped into his head, "Why haven't you come back? Even just to visit?" he huffed, tail twitching. "It's not that simple.." the stag muttered, forcing himself to keep eye contact. "Why?" Tabiu stood, ears flat, eyes unblinking, determined to get answers, "Why isn't it 'that simple'?" he snapped.
