.:Stars In Her Eyes and Serenity In Her Soul:.
July 15, 2013 - 12:33pm — Farelia
With wide, ruby-esque eyes the star pelted doe gazed up at the night sky. She was alone; no friends, no children, no passers-by or random stalkers. The loneliness sunk in like a creeping mist, crawling passed her lush fur and under her skin, into her very core.
Yet the loneliness did not seem to bother her much; the wolf-deer was used to it. Her life before that of a deer was one of violence and seclusion. She had no friends, no family, and in the end she barely had a pack to call her own.
Her calm heart began to flutter at those memories, and her lips peeled back from sharp teeth that had no place being in an ungulate's mouth. But before the snarl began to release itself from the depths of her chest, she halted herself, letting her velvety muzzle fall lax. Her eyes tore away from the wondrous nebulae she spied above her, looking around.
When she was sure no one was around, absolutely positive she was not entertaining an audience of any sort, the doe began to mold her magic. A bright, glorious golden light shone, like those that flash when one deer casts a physically altering spell on another. Her body was consumed by it, but her form wouldn't change. As much as she tried, Nadezdha couldn't bring herself back into the form of her previous life. She knew she could do it; she knew perfectly how; she just... couldn't.
The light faded, and she lay in a tired heap on the ground, more forlorn than she was previously. Her eyes found the stars once more, gazing up into the Heavens passed the trees highest reaches. Her long slender neck aided her head in lifting from the ground so she could better see the sky in all of its night time glory.
Her body was bruised and sore, and her mind muddled with tumultuous thoughts, but she longed for the familiarity of a canine form. For some semblance of comfort and soothing nostalgia of fangs and claws, not hooves and grinding flat teeth.
But those thoughts soon left her crooked mind as she became lost in the stars once more, watching as some sailed across the sky millions of miles out of reach. Her eyes grew wide, and face grew blank. The stars and colors of the far off plains of space seemed to flood onto the doe, quelling her inner struggles and aching body. For just a moment, she was at peace. She was gone from the world of the friends she knew, and was... nowhere. She was surrounded by nothing but stars. The red in her eyes began to swirl, as did her markings. And as two far off stars collided, a new Nadezdha sat beneath their presence, and the presence of all the other burning balls of majestic non-life. Her golden markings were still the same, only slightly paler, and in a flowing, gracious pattern. Her entirety seemed to glisten, reflecting the far off stars she stared at so intently, and her red eyes held splashes of amber, as if they were slowly beginning to change back to the eyes of a wolf, back to the brilliant golden yellow eyes she'd once possessed in a life long passed.
The wolf doe blinked gently, slowly, after a moment, and she stood from amongst the tall grasses in the Birch she'd hidden herself in. With her normal calm, well-placed hoofsteps, she walked down back into the forest, towards her home in the Ruins. Her coat still shimmered and with the stars, and her eyes still glowed with new light. Her limps and aches were gone, and her mind was calm.
She ascended her pedestal and sat; legs neatly folded under her and neck arched delicately like a swan at rest. Nadezdha's eyes stared out at the Forest, waiting for daybreak to come and a new day to begin.
Been working on this picture all day. I thought there'd be a nice story to go along with it and a reason for her somewhat change in markings. I know it's not the best, but it's almost six in the mornin'. Have mercy. ;;
