san•guine [sang-gwin] adj
1. cheerfully optimistic or hopeful
2. blood-red
The buck hovered over the water, his nose just touching its cool, clear silk. He studied the spots on his brow: over the last few weeks they had turned from pale pink patches of fur to dark red - the color of blood, poppies, his birchwood mask. They marked the last stretch of his transition to adulthood, and he might have been alarmed by their appearance. But instead he smiled at his watery reflection - at this deer with embers over his eyes, with quiet warmth written in cardinal-feather red upon his face.
Just a bit of selfish art ~ my deer Anjali has now acquired red markings above his eyes as he grows older.
i like it
Thank you, Midnightrose. c:
I love it--I think about
I also love the drawing--those antlers are so well done, and I know you once called your artwork 'stylized' (which, either way; I love it a ton >>) but this feels so NOT. It's just really cool.
Ahhh he's even lovelier now
Red, white, and black are one of my favorite color combos and.. and..
..and he dots above his eyes therefore they are dot eyebrows and I MUST have a fit over how much I love dot eyebrows.
Thank you so much, Ravus and
I'm glad it still "feels" like Anjali; I wanted to add something that would make him more unique, but not change his appearance completely. And I was actually quite surprised at how well those antlers turned out!
YES, dot eyebrows ~ I love markings above the eyes *has fit too*
