The Black Swan
The Black Swan is a keeper of time and Forest history; an ancient vessel created alongside the birth of The Endless Forest. She is rumored to appear as a wandering entity lurking within the deepest parts of the secluded birch, or haunting the
Crying Idol on even rarer occasions. Legend states that if one were to wander far enough, they may stumble upon a clearing in the woods, where all direction and sense of time are lost. Shrouded by a looming mist and dense forest, she appears waiting under the sliver of a new moon. Encounters with The Black Swan are said to be unnervingly surreal and fleeting, and are most of the time written off as just, perhaps, an unsettling dream.
Despite the years, however, after many generations of this story being passed, those who have been visited by The Black Swan all recall the same: facing a pupiless gaze, chilling, and dark; pools of black so bottomless and deep it trapped the light within them. Instead of a window to the soul, they were met with a mirror of the onlooker.
They saw only themselves.

...there was a man living
His only company were three hunting dogs.
The man was very poor, he had always had to struggle for his own and his dogs' survival.
One snowy night he got out of food, and his teeth stuttered as he laid shivering in his bed from the cold.
The wind was screaming outside, but aside from that and the man everything was quiet.
Suddenly he could hear a scraping sound on the wooden floor, and sharp, wheezing breaths in the air.
The man listened intensely, and as the scraping sound stopped, he felt a weight at the feet on his bed. He looked up just to see a pair of huge yellow eyes staring at him.
The creature had the body of a small monkey, with brown patches of fur clinging to the sick skin. His mouth sprouted out multiple small razor sharp teeth, and his feet where equipped with long black claws.
Terrified by the monstrous appearance the man reached for the axe at the side of his bed, and the creature, scared by the haste, jumped back on the floor. As it retreated towards a hole in the wall, the man threw his axe at it. All that was left was a scaled, serpent-like tail.
The next day the man was so hungry that he cooked the tail and ate it, and after feasting on it he was feeling so full that he thought he would never be hungry again.
That night he laid content in his bed - until he heard the scraping sound again.
Suddenly the creature was at his feet, and demanded with a sharp voice "My tail, give me my tail!", and once again he lunged his weapon at it. The creature dodged it, and panicking the man called for his three dogs, and loyally they came and chased the creature outside. An hour later they returned, but now they were only two.
The next day the man still was not hungry, and that night he went to bed still content - until he heard the scraping sound again.
Suddenly the creature was clutching at his chest, and demanded with a sharp voice and fiery eyes, "My tail, give me my tail!".
The man called for his two dogs again and just like the other times they chased it outside. An hour later they returned, but now they were only one.
The next day the man still was not hungry, but that night he laid worried in his bed, and he was not surprised when he heard the scraping on the wooden floor, or the sharp, wheezing breaths in the air.
This time he did not give the horrible creature a chance, he called for his only dog left immediately.
The dog chased it outside, and it did not return.
The man laid curled up in his bed, scared beyond belief.
"My tail, give me my tail!" was the last thing the man heard before his chest was ripped open and long blood drenched fingers pulled out the serpent tail.

You mean from the biography in general or the quote above?
Either way I find that oddly strange but I'm glad this page has moved you in some way...
Jin-
That was so cool.
I thought the most disturbing part out of the entire thing when he actually ate the tail, and when the dogs got killed.
That part is freaky, too...
Thanks for FINALLY SHARING IT WITH ME.
Rayvn, It was not from the
It was not from the quote. I read that before coming here.
I actually didn't even have the chance to finish reading her biography. All of a sudden, simply from being here, glancing over a few words, I began to cry a bit.
It is strange, but strange is familiar to me.
I think I am too.
Saosin,
What a nice story. I heard one like it once from my cousin, though it was referring to a liver that a boy had stolen from a corpse. It reminds me of something from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
Ahh, okay. If you don't mind
If you don't mind me asking, was it because it made you sad or something else...?
Of course not. I'd be asking
I doubt from sadness. It may have been my mood, my lack of sleep...
I may have tuned into her or your essence.
I may have sensed something, let's call it grace, that is a touch of Truth found somewhere in the world. When discovered, one reacts to it in an extreme fashion, typically without any direct knowledge as to why they are reacting that way. It is an unconscious response to the beyond manifesting itself in some way for some purpose.
Or, perhaps, it is something else or a mix of many things.
I'm glad I came here.
You've always interested me in a fashion which I've had no explanation for.
Wow. Reading through The Black Swan Theory really made me appreciate your thoughts and explanations on her. That's a fascinating concept and intriguing application by yourself. Well done.
Quote:I may have sensed
Yes.
I'm glad, and actually surprised you were able to feel this, especially something so hard to grasp and understand.
My lack of words for the actual feeling though, is made up for the creation of Ravyn.
She is exactly that. A medium holding that certain weight of the world of truth and knowledge.
Your words are very admirable to me, but I feel like you sense more than just a character.
This feeling is a part of me and it's something I myself can't understand or comprehend, but I feel it.
I'm not saying that I am truth, but I feel it too, this state of awareness and oneness and distance from the world.
Your words mean a lot to me...
The Black Swan Theory was actually something Dag found on Wikipedia that I was not aware of.
Funny how things just add up like that...
Do you mind if I copy and paste what you said into her biography?
I like how you worded it.
Ah, I'm not too surprised by
I don't believe we need to communicate our thoughts to those on our level to the full degree of which we are speaking. I believe we can allude to feelings with our words, and reach within ourselves to find what they refer to. I say, "a sliver of Truth manifesting itself in the world," and you know what I mean. You know it is not simple, that it is a thought that could take lifetimes to contemplate, even in part.
She is. And I wonder at her melancholy, but perhaps that is due to the differences between aspects and representations.
I generally do sense the spirit coordinating the manifestation. There is something behind many things I see. Something there, creating and fulfilling.
Most certainly I agree that your nature is that of something beyond the material world. I see an aspect of Truth in everything, despite it still being so extraordinary. In every soul, person, in each aspect of nature, in art, Truth resides. Some places allow it to shine through more than others, by their nature and inadvertent will. There are levels of realization, however immeasurable, and the higher they are, the more visible Truth becomes.
Through my time in this life, I have discovered that things have a way of falling into place.
Feel free to use my words. Thank you for asking; it is an honor.
Wait a minute XD you gots a

Sorry about that.
Genesis is just a beginning chapter in Ravyn's life, because to me I finally have her identity complete.
I will take it out of the blog title if it makes you feel better?
I really won't have a problem with doing so if you like. (:
There are no changes required
Serenai- You are absolutely
You are absolutely amazing to me.
"I don't believe we need to communicate our thoughts to those on our level to the full degree of which we are speaking... I say, "a sliver of Truth manifesting itself in the world," and you know what I mean. You know it is not simple, that it is a thought that could take lifetimes to contemplate, even in part."
So, so damn amazing.
Her melancholy is caused by the very truth that separates her from the world.
I feel like with knowledge comes loneliness, and a lot of it depending on how much you feel you have, because it is a realization of the world around you and realization isn't always positive.
But you know this...
"I see an aspect of Truth in everything, despite it still being so extraordinary. In every soul, person, in each aspect of nature, in art, Truth resides. Some places allow it to shine through more than others, by their nature and inadvertent will. There are levels of realization, however immeasurable, and the higher they are, the more visible Truth becomes."
Truth. What is it? Is it just the realization of the world? The oneness and detachment all at once?
I believe it's in everyone too, and that some are just not aware of it because they have been blinded by the materialistic world and society.
I also feel people will always have this sense of longing for something more, and that they also feel an emptiness inside of them.
To me, it's a lack of truth in the world.
I cannot thank you enough for such an amazing conversation...
SAV-
Are you sure...?
And be content with altering. It's an amazing thing to be moldable...
I also change according to other people under some circumstances, especially people that I feel matter to me most, so I understand what you mean.
(:
Ravvy- NO, Are you sure?
NO, Are you sure?
Altering myself for others can be quite painful for me since my mood changes according to those that are around me or speaking with me. Thanks for understanding! P.S: I need a way to get my feelings out. I absolutley love Ravyn as a character since that when I am in complete harmony, I think of a black and white backround with the important details exploding with a transparent yellow color ♥ As for me, I can't describe myself. THATS WHY I FAIL AT TRYING TO EXPRESS MYSELF XD
Thank you for inviting me to
