"Learning Protection..." Non-TEF

Graveyard's picture
I very rarely post my artwork on here anymore to avoid comments along the lines of certain things. Most of the time I keep my artwork to myself anymore and post it on my FA or DA pages. I decided to post this simply because I liked it enough to do so...

Three on one training spare for Aziz and his team. They are preparing for an upcoming match against Team Crossroads. A team in which Aziz's cousin Nigel is in, as well as Charla, his cousin's Lover. It'll be quite the drama fest I would think because neither Charla or Nigel like Rahul... Aziz's team leader.

Anyway, to explain what's going on here... Aziz is using protect against three moves. The protect works like a bubble and the moves are reflecting off of it. I went with Flamethrower (Nereida), Earthquake (Devorah) and Rahul used Ice Punch prior to this.

The major focus was on Flamethrower and Earthquake though. Of course this is a different style of pokemon and all that stuff, rules apply but in the RP/World these guys are from. They are students in a school and all that. So they don't just have 4 moves, because they are Juniors they have a total of 12 moves in their move pool. In Senior year they will have 16 Sticking out tongue

Anyway enough on that, I'm probably boring the shit out of you guys.

Auuw, why don't you post your

Auuw, why don't you post your art here anymore? I liked it and have become a bit fond of you because we both like Pokémon. And this one is rather awesome. Protect is a move I don't teach to anyone because I think it's useless, but you brought it out in a total different way!

Personally, I don't use

Personally, I don't use protect on my Active Teams due to the fact that it just doesn't work for me all that well (While for my opponents, oh my god... ugh) But for things like this and the PCA since the characters aren't limited to just 4 moves I thought well why not? Especially if it's a 3 way going on, I think having Protect would save yer ass sometimes.

I don't post here often because eh, it's just one of those things. I do from time to time but it's nothing worthwhile. I feel lately that my art has become well more 'crappy' than it usually is so I'd rather avoid placing that on here. I guess that's it, I dunno anymore.

I can understand the benefits

I can understand the benefits of using Protect in a 3 way. Else it just postpones the enemies attack. Could be awesome if you could have more than 4 moves. But then I think some Pokémon would be unstoppable.

Do you really think your art is crappy? I am so sad to hear you have that oppinion about your skill. Doesn't matter if other say it's crap, but if you do yourself, then whats left? Belive in yourself, you ARE good!

I do not believe my artwork

I do not believe my artwork is crappy, never said I did. I just feel that the sketches I've been doing lately have not been up to par with other works I have done previously is all. They are a little more as one would put it, less than beautiful and I'd rather not post them in general. It's just how I am, I draw what I like and love and whether others think it's crap or not I don't care.

It would be nice to have more than 4 moves but yeah, certain pokemon (Namely the Legendaries) would be far too OP for that very reason xD

Well, then I'll try to follow

Well, then I'll try to follow you on DA, because I don't want to miss what you draw.

And think of a Smeagle, which can learn almost every move, they would have the super effective moves for every type!

The problem with Smeargle is

The problem with Smeargle is they have extremely low stats. Even if properly trained they aren't the best, sure they can learn almost every move around but the problem is just those extremely low stats XD It's one of the reasons I, myself, have never raised one (That and I've always went with a completely borked team anyway XD) Although me, I'm a completionist and always caught one just to complete my pokedex XD

I tend to spam update my DA, since FA seems to be my major hub of updates. So if you see a giant throw of artwork it's probably because I was a couple days late on uploading it to my DA. There are however sketches and stuff that I keep in Photobucket that haven't ever been uploaded to galleries. Those are mostly because they are incomplete or just for a very specific person/friend for our RPs xD

Well, they may have a low

Well, they may have a low stat, I don't study those mathematic things. I only care about their behavior, habitats and apperance. And about complete the Pokédex, I've never bothered with that since there always seems to be at least one Pokémon that you can't get, unless you go to some big event and get one or cheat.

If you're playing the game

If you're playing the game for fun for the most part stats don't matter. But if you want a decent team the stats often matter. And Smeargle's stats in itself are fairly weak (It only has a 20 base attack power, and a 20 base special attack). Being what I am and what I do, I often study a lot behind the Pokemorphs that I draw to maximize what they can do XD But that's just me.

As for completing the Pokedex. I have a lot of friends that have helped me with that, yeah you can get certain things from all that other stuff (Cheats, hacks, etc.) but when you know friends it's so much easier Sticking out tongue

I am very serious about my

I am very serious about my teammates, and I don't go after the strongest or variable types, but after which Pokémon I like and fits to me. If you're a good trainer, you can with with your favorite team, and thats my dream; To battle with my favorites.
