( Basic Information )
Name: Gwendolyn. ~
Nicknames: Gwen, Owlkid
Gender: Female.
Age: Older fawn; can pretty much be considered a "kid" by now. About 10-11 human years.
Species: Barn owl and TEF deer mix.
Size: About a 3.
Orientation: Too young to tell.
Diet: Omnivorous, with a growing preference for meat.
Appearance
Barn Owl Mask|DOTD Antlers|Antelope Pelt|
Reference: x
~Typical barn owl face. White with a brownish border.
~Eye color is a soft amber.
~Feathery, somewhat deer like ears.
~Has a v-shaped marking just below her chin; ginger, with small white flecks.
~Base color resembles that of sand. Small white dots are prevalent on her flanks. Two small wings sprout from her shoulders, currently unusable for flight. These wings are white tipped, and a small ginger stripe separates them from her main coloring.
~White underbelly and chest. The white on her chest extends into a upside down v like marking, which rises to meet her chin marking. Tail feathers are long and sleek, with their uppermost parts being dark ginger. This then fades into a sandy color, which ultimately yields to a white tip.
~Small grey patches are present on the bottom of her legs. A number of gray stripes has appeared above them.
*Gwendolyn is half bird, something which results in a slightly accelerated pace of growth. Thus, it is likely that her appearance is subject to change rather often.
Possessions: A rose pennant, received from Iden. Wears around her neck often. Treasured.

screaming because this needs to be updated desperately
*Newest traits located at the bottom.
--Was once extremely timid, fearing to approach even the most benign of deer. Has grown out of this for the most part; now far more hyper and curious around strangers. Still holds a sort of wariness about those whom she does not know, and easily panicked by overly rowdy or pushy deer.
-- Perhaps a little more "sassy" around those she knows. Maybe just more open. Seems to take a shorter time getting used to strangers if they are around friends/family; gives them the benefit of the doubt. Doesn`t hesitate to make her wishes known around those whom she is comfortable with.
-- Seems to like small, secluded areas in which to rest. This includes areas full of tall grass. Can often be found darting around, studying seemingly random objects, such as trees or flowers. Flight over fight?
-- Spells seem to startle/terrify her. Though they don`t actually hurt her, seeing her brother`s reaction to being struck by them only reinforces the notion that they are something harmful. If casted upon, it is likely that she will extremely spooked, to the point of running off. The blinding light of the spell itself seems to scare her more than its effects. By now, has started to realize that spells don`t actually hurt her; still averse to getting them casted on her, though.
-- A bit a loner, at times. Has some sort of wanderlust; can often be found on the move, exploring the forest and watching other deer. Awfully curious.
-- Seems to prefer little "perches" to sit on. These might be hills, the rocks at the Playground and the Ruins, or just about anywhere. Just likes being...above things.
-- When sitting with another, faces the opposite side. Vehemently insists on doing so; if the other deer turns to face her, it`s likely she`ll rotate. Seems to be a sort of safety precaution, as if she prefers to keep a lookout. This trait seems to be fading with age.
-- Pretty much jumps at the sight of anything bird like. These can range from actual birds to deer with bird like masks. Anything that flies is subject to her curiosity. Thus, can often be spotted running around and chasing the butterflies present in poppy patches.
-- Seems to have a habit of sniffing sleeping deer. Usually runs off if they awaken, though.
-- Has a slight phobia of those wearing skulls? Not enough to stop her with interacting with them, though it seems to make her initially uneasy. It doesn`t seem to have anything to do with the deer themselves, though. Dubs these deer as "skullies." As of late, this fear seems to have slightly lessened.
-- Somewhat short attention span? Hyperactive at times, in addition to being extremely wary. Often hops, flaps her wings, and cocks her head while walking; likely a behavioral product of the owl in her. Sometimes runs off to go investigate something that catches her attention, even if with friends.
-- Omnivore. Feeds on berries and small insects at this stage; mainly the former.
-- Seems to be driven by an almost feral instinct at times? Her knowledge of hunting has been mostly self taught, and thus needs some work. This seems to tie in to the fact she appears to have a strong belief in her actions; as in, she usually believes that what she chooses to do is right. This may imply that she feels somewhat instinct driven in her reasoning; "go with the gut" mentality?
-- Has a habit of hopping while spinning in a circle. Actually, this is just a habit that the player developed awhile ago.
-- Has a slightly aggressive side to her; occasionally seen playfully headbutting trees and even other deer. At this age, this trait has not fully manifested. Might be a more feral aspect of her personality.
-- Often feels as if she is too small, thereby making her a target of larger deer; namely bullies and predators. Believes that there are numerous disadvantages to being small, and insists on growing bigger. Awfully proud whenever she manages to do something in which she was unable to do before, regardless of whether or not size played a factor. However, seems to also enjoy showing off the advantages of being small, such as being able to access places that most larger deer cannot. Possible that her fuss at being minuscule, then, is a mere overreaction.
-- Both fascinated and terrified by the color red.
-- Showing more predatory instincts by the day. More prone to go running after a small animal if she sees one. Seems to be occasionally be drawn to decaying things.
--Occasionally mimics the actions of others.
-- Seems to be a thinker. Often confused as to the daily happenings of the forest; wonders how such a tranquil looking place can be home to tons of fighting. Attempting to grasp the concepts of good and evil, and is only just beginning to realize that the aforementioned is far more complicated than previously thought.
-- Division between sentient and feral mindset beginning to develop? (will extend on this later)
-- Seems to be exhibiting protective traits toward smaller/younger fawns. Tends to act in a sibling-esque manner around them. Knows how scary the world can be when one is a small fawn; tries to look at for and keep the like out of danger because of this.
-- Snow seems to have a calming effect on her. Seems to bring out a part of her that she doesn`t quite know exists. Highly likely this ties in with her past.
{ Relationships }
Known
Besiini: Link; ----------10/10 Brother. One of the only ones that she truly loves and trusts. Bound by blood; attached to.
Light: Link; ??? ---------- 1/10 Former parental figure. At the time, she was one of the few deer that had managed to earn the little owlfawn`s trust. Came to adore and cling to her; dubbed her as "Mama." With her disappearance, the doe remains a distant memory in Gwendolyn`s mind. Feels now only a vague sense of loss.
Renwyk: Link; Processing. A small fawn, like her. Drawn to his hyper nature; considers a good friend. Has often approached others that she would normally be afraid to because of his presence.
Jack: Link; Processing? One of the first deer she met in forest. Quite curious of. Initially was somewhat wary of him, but this seems to have mostly faded. Nevertheless, will not hesitate to seek out.
Lionel:Link;Connected/Processing|Enjoys the little stag`s company immensely. Charmed-and even occasionally confused-by his quirky nature. Link seems to have processed rather quickly.
Lilith: Link; Seeking/Processing| Acquaintance. Always happy to see the blue doe, and would like to get to know better.
Illrose: Link; Seeking| Acquaintance. Seems to be one of Jack`s friends.
Neela: Link; Processing/Connected| Herla`s daughter. Met when she was still a young fawn. Always looks forward to romping around with. Even a little protective of, at times.
Herla: Link; Processing| A feathered doe; met when she was still young and timid. Appreciates the kindness she showed to her, and is always glad to see.
Kyra: Link; Processing| A fellow owl deer, drawn to her by instinct as well as curiosity. Enjoys her company.
Severa: Link; Processing/Seeking?| A younger fawn she met recently. Curious about her appearance and her origins, and would like to know more about. Rather protective of.
Mirta: Link; Processing/Seeking| A younger fawn; fascinated by her ability to transform into a crow. Was present during a rather difficult time in the owlkid`s life. Feels horrible that she had to see her at her worst. Hopes she`s doing well.
Zhain: Link; Processing| A strange feline-like creature. Took a liking to him immediately, especially because he seems to share her love for romping around. Grateful to for being there when during her period of instability.
Garth: Link; Processing/Possible fluke? A....mouse rabbit thing. Possibly insane? Also kind of interesting, though. Plans to keep an eye out for him, though she`ll probably tread lightly.

Feared
Kaars: Pursued her; likely would have been the end of her had others not come to her rescue. Terrified of.
Reed:Not so much frightened as unsure of. Hesitant to approach, yet still somewhat curious.
Umay: Feared. Chased her for a reason she knows not of. Tends to get anxious when she is nearby, and will not approach unless the circumstances are extreme.
{ History }
The owlet has no recollection of her past prior to arriving in the forest; indeed, she remains wholly ignorant of it. A past, however, does exist-and it makes itself known in the things she does. She was a tiny, timid, thing once. She clings to those whom she cares about, yet ventures out into the unknown. She hesitates not to flee, but always comes back. The secrets ingrained deep within her are a part of her which she knows not, though is.
She was born into a different forest, far different than this one-yet the story remains the same. Surrounded by loving kin was she-her caring parents and dear brother. Does anyone truly know what happened then, the lies that made her so? One thing is for certain-it was bitterly cold and bright when she arrived here. So approach not the restless, cheerful creature in front of you-do not look into her eyes. The naive amber that shines back at you will tell of sweetness and loathing, of kinship and bloodshed. Hesitate to tell her the secrets that thrive within her, for she is discovering them far too quickly. Fear to stare at those eyes for long, for within their fissured pits lies a pitiful bitterness-one that betrays the darkness of innocence; innocence is not bliss, no, innocence is a lie.
{ The Bond }
The energy that lives within Gwendolyn is both foreign and familiar; it is ingrained in her, connecting her past to her present. Indeed, she holds within her a "bond" or sorts, one which allows her to establish mental links with those with whom she is familiar. This ability seems to work as if it were an entity of its own, at times-it operates like a set of"hands" feeling those around her and connecting them. A fully formed mental link would yield forth the ability to send her thoughts and feelings to the recipient across the link, as well as receive their own. It is not known how far the ability could reach.
Of course, the actual nature of these "hands" are not so simple; indeed, this ability is complex and still developing. The presence-or lack, thereof-of this skill is affected by a great number of things, such as distance, personality, and the mental stability of the recipient themselves.
NOTE: If you do not wish for your character to be affected by Gwen`s bond, simply notify me. The character will be referred to as a fluke (definition below.)
Terminology
*This is all still in its experimental stages.
Bond/Link- The ability itself. It manifests and develops itself in multiple varieties.
Varieties: The different stages and statuses of the bond. (More below)
Vector: The one employing the bond. (Gwen)
Recipient: The one being affected by the bond.
Multi-Bond: A combination of two varieties. These often exist in the beginning stages, but are subject to presence in later stages.
Bond Types
Initial bonds: Bonds that exist as Gwen as first getting to know the recipient.
(working on it)
Varieties (Initial bonds):
*While many different varieties of the bond exist, they do necessarily have to interact with each other. For example, a deer may be subject to two different types of bonds, or may just skip ahead to one.
Processing Bond: Somewhat self-explanatory, this is a bond that is attempting to actually connect to its recipient. It may be taking into account the nature and personality of the recipient. A processing bond is crucial to the development stages of the eventual bond; this stage usually determines the ability of Gwen to actually link to the recipient.
Established Bond: Usually follows the processing stages. This means that the link is now "present" but still quite weak. It is not likely that Gwen could communicate with the recipient through the bond at this stage; moreover, it has simply verified the fact that the bond may work. It`s almost like a "clearance" stage.
Seeking Bond: Somewhat like a processing bond, this bond is almost like a halfway point between processing and connecting. A seeking bond may or may not have to go through the establishment stage in order to be present. A seeking bond is "seeping" and "feeling" the recipient. It is almost the bond`s way of getting to know the recipient.
Connecting Bond: This is an unusually strong bond, unique in the essence that it is present despite the vector not knowing the user very well. This bond is almost a form of attachment to the recipient. It can be said that the recipient "clicks" with the vector.
Additional Bond Types (not really sure where to put these, so just leaving them here for now)
Fragmented Bond: This bond is a strange one, one that lacks "clarity", so to say. Imagine being a dark room with only a few spots of light here and there. The vector has established a fractured link; they find it mildly or extremely difficult to employ the bond in this situation. It may actually cause the vector pain to attempt to contact the recipient over this bond. This bond most directly correlates the mental stability of the recipient, though it can be affected by a multitude of things.
Distanced bond: This is the result of a once stronger bond that has been affected by the recipient time away from the vector. The speed at which the bond distances itself depends on the closeness of the recipient to the vector (closeness as in familiarity, not actual distance. While distance affects the bond, a Distanced Bond is the result of the vector not being able to solidify their bond with the recipient enough.
Fluke: Simply put, this is basically an anti-bond. The vector reaches the recipient either very little or not at all, thus rendering the bond useless.
