A curious draw to the forest answered his questions upon his visit. Could tell almost immediately what time of the year it was. Anxious when Suki followed him a few moments later. And, despite a want to speak with her immediately, allowed her visit and made a point to revisit the topic in his mind, with her, later in the night.
Did just that, though the conversation went to, and ended, in a way he did not see coming. During it, however, held steadfast to his place and his words. Tried desperately to educate and warn, though realized it was going nowhere but causing a rift between the two (however temporary it was going to be). Saw her off and has yet to speak to her since. Was not dumb to her disappearance the next day, and as much as he wanted to follow her into the forest, could not leave their property as he was readying it for the cold that was nearing.

Finally built the courage to ask Yumi to his ranch, something he had mentioned for months a couple of times but never actually went through with it. This time, grew the appropriate size balls for it and did just that. Elated at her acceptance, left pretty much straight afterwards to keep some light for the visit. Showed her around the grounds first, explained the small creek he had dug out for the animals that went to their paddocks, and allowed her to feed some treats to his miniature goats uvu Endeared by her expressed impression of him. Usually would not take it, but this time feels it was deserved. When she shared of her animals, accepted her offer of eggs to hatch whenever he got the coop up and ready. Knew Suki would lose her mind at that and only gave him more motivation to get it done just so he could see it. After a showing of the barn, and waiting patiently for the barn cats to acquaint themselves with Yumi's scent, took her inside to try the bread he had made, and the butter (from his goats) to go along with it.
A short quick meeting between Suki and Yumi before the girl was asking for a sweet and running back to her room to practice her dancing. Glad for it. Takato couldn't deny it may be a little awkward at times because Suki is raised by a soft dad so she has no boundaries of questions. Elated to learn of Yumi's vegetarianism, same as his, when he mentioned that's what their dish for the night would be. Malai Kofta, with homemade naan bread and a side of rice for extra options and additions. While Wren sat herself at the lounge, Takato and Yumi sat at the table to eat, and were able to have a more quiet private conversation. Shared about their days, their families, and expressed pretty similar comments and opinions regarding the most recent rut, and the rut in general. Truthfully, and did not express it, he was glad her interest did not lie in it anymore. Found it to be becoming a dangerous event as he ages, and finds himself worry each year about how she would be treated during it. HOWEVER!! Did mention he thinks the rut is beneath her, and that she is far better than shallow and temporary attraction from those looking to strut their stuff for a week out of a year.
After dinner and conversing at the table, and when he was sure Suki was too wrapped up in her hobbies to ask to ride along, would offer to take Yumi on his cart for a short trip once it was darker. Stopped at his small greenhouse first, and then got the cart and his horse ready. Admired the wild horses and the large hoard of fireflies in a part of open space. Upon their return, offered her a spare room if she would like, but would understand if the comfort of her own home was calling. Surprised, but no less endeared, that she choose to stay. Readied the spare room up for her, and in the morning offered to make her breakfast after fixing Suki's.
+ Respectful, Calm, Approachable, Tolerant
- Vain, Finicky, Stubborn, Push over
~ Seems to shut down when being verbally berated by a female.
~ High affinity for photography. Finds taking pictures as a beautiful and easy means of keeping memories
~ Currently monogamous, and likely to have passed his interest in siring from does he has no romantic interest in
~ Lives a much more feral lifestyle when he's living a nomad life outside of the forest, otherwise of great human emotion
~ Doesn't care to engage in violence outside of rutting and sparring. Will block or shove if needed to defend himself or those he cares about, but capable of putting more force behind his actions should he need to
~ Highly respectful, especially towards feminine/female individuals. As such is overly cautious and careful with his actions, words and presence. Especially more so when it comes to a romantic interest he may have
~ Antlers no longer shed, nor do they go into velvet. Adolescents and young adults of his kind will velvet and shed, though grow back twice as fast until maturing which cause growing, shedding and going into velvet to end.
~ Egotistical to a degree, but not unbearably so. Views himself as the best there is in giving offspring the best kind of genes there is, though holds a slight bit of low self esteem and worth when it comes to romantic relationships.
~ Does not feel jealousy nor possessiveness. However may ward off rivals from interests or a mate if he has one during the rut season. Blindly believes in loyalty, and assumed if you settle to have one at your side as a partner and mate that your interest lies only with them.
~ Sometimes fights with instinct and the way he was paved through his experiences in the world. Can mourn for only a short period of time before moving on, other times mourns for years. Very set in his ways and the way of his herd, though has drifted from some of the more traditional ways.
~ Since the birth and close raising of his daughter; Gita, has begun to view the world in a different light. Not as easily pushed over as he was, not as easily passive as he used to be. Wants desperately for his daughter to grow up in a safe environment, and willing to do anything to achieve it for her.
~ After a trip and form change to a new world, appears to be getting a lot of his old traits back before heartache broke him. Holds himself a lil higher than he has the past couple years, and seems to be getting back the confidence and carefree air he used to have. Feeling lighter and more comfortable.
~ Dark blue in colour, most similar to indigo but taking on a more blue shade. Colour darkens from the fetlock up, to where almost black antlers adorn his head. Markings are a white to silver shade and are bioluminescent that expel a brighter glow during night or dark weather. Hooves and dew claws are silver, and eyes are a little on the darker side of blue.
~ Has an intense need and want to help those he cares about, even females he doesn't know, but doing that also believes 100% that they're all capable of taking care of themself, of being able to handle anything the world throws at them. Still has a deep rooted need to help them, but fears it coming off wrong like he views lowly of them and having them think he sees them as weak creatures that need protection from a meat man.

Lost
Narumi;
First offspring he ever got to watch grow. Fond of her independent nature now she's an adult. Rarely seen, but calms in the knowledge she's grown up to be strong and capable of handling herself.
Pride, distant, adoration
Nephele, Morgen, Eos;
Offspring from Juturnae. Closest to the former, and as such holds a quiet but strong fondness for. Proud of them all, even with the unknowing that's held towards Eos.
Moloch;
Offspring from Lilu. Watches over on occasion from a distance, but otherwise hasnt felt any interest or desire to get closer and make their relation known, especially knowing it isn't his place, nor would it likely bring any positivity for the Violet.
Pride, distant
Mura;
Son from Mairine. The closest of all his offspring in forest, that and because of who his mother is, has a fondness for that exceeds his other children that has been shared. The only child that he has given the opportunity to know closely. Treasures all time spent together and getting a front row seat to watch him grow.
Pride, closeness, adoration
Gita;
Daughter (Galene). Instantaneous adoration and love upon witnessing her birth. Fell in love with as soon as his eyes met her.
Pride, closeness, adoration
Suki;
Youngest daughter (Rye). A bond that took time to build, but since he has held more custody of her presence, finds her the epitome of sunshine.
Pride, closeness, adoration
Mairine;
Has a lot of good feelings towards the doe. Holds an amount of respect for that could rival almost everyone else he knows. Appreciative and forever grateful for the warmth she has showed him since the beginning of their relationship, and believes he couldn't have picked a better partner to have an offspring with. Held some unspoken and small feelings for at one point, though buried them so far he never even allowed himself to think about them or entertain they existed.
Respected. Adored. Familiar
Easca;
A presence that has always been welcoming and warm. Sought out on many occasions, and even after time between visits still feels as welcome as if they just saw each other.
Curious, liked, respected
Lilu;
Drawn to because of her scent, but mostly because of the child she allowed him to help create. Distant towards, but checks up on rare occasions.
Liked, distant
Pagan;
A rocky start, but has since become one of his more closer friends. Finds some sort of comfort in her that he feels he could confide in.
Respected, liked
Yumi;
A close and cherished friend the bull has had for many years. Finds her ethereal and one of the calmest individuals he has ever met. She is perhaps one of only very very few that he can be in the company of and not feel burdened, or that his presence is simply a mere toleration. One of only few females who has never made him feel worthless or misplaced, that his company or opinion is not concerned or allowed. There is no length Takato would go to for a simple need Yumi finds she needs or wants. Protective of her boundaries, be it with strangers or his own presence, and is mindful of his place within her life and parts of the forest that are her safest haunts. Simultaneously viewed as delicate, soft, and tender, but also with immense stalwart, strength, and virtue.
Lieva;
Galene's daughter. Respected for her loyalty towards her mother after everyone else seemed to discard them both. Looked out for quietly, even if it's unneeded.
Respected
Umay;
View has fluctuated. Initially saw her as a pest and a violent individuals because of her targets on Zafeiri, but then turned to indifference with the believe and firsthand experience at Zafeiri creating her own drama. Since then has noticed Galene's discomfort around the lioness, and can only come to his own assumptions that she targets those 'weaker' than her.
Wary of, avoided
Galene;
A relationship he never truly felt was equal or mutual. Felt second best, a choice because the one Galene truly wanted was unattainable due to a traumatic past the two shared. Buried all of his insecurities and worries down, but ultimately could never come out of it thinking that he was only ever a settlement, and not a first choice. A reminder that he is not worthy of relationships. Feelings of sadness and heartbreak have since been replaced with that of betrayal and anger that a mother could abandon their child. Blames himself for it, that she disliked him so much she could not bear to be a loving mother to her own daughter. Finds the act selfish and cowardly. However, despite his feelings, would never voice them to anyone else, and since her disappearance, has done nothing more than leave uplifting and positive words of her to Gita, wishing for their daughter to only have positive associations.
Heartache, anger, betrayal
Sana;
Heartache, guilt, regret
Seti;
Guilt
Zafeiri;
Felt taken advantage of and stringed along with for years, along with the feeling of being little more than a stepping stone for the Oryx until she found something and someone better. Attempted a mend years later, though couldn't help feeling it was all still the same, and when Gita expressed her discomfort with the way she felt Zafeiri was encroaching on his life, decided that it would never work out and decided to keep his own distance. Chose to severe ties with, something that was only reinforced after hearing certain things and assuming she had been lying and talking bad behind his back. A severed tie to never be mended.
Gifts;

Band from Galene, shows her heartbeat

Necklace from foxtrot

Past/Herd history;
Amnula
The first world of its kind
Homeland (Amnula) is always covered in darkness, save for the bioluminescent plant and animal life. Many trees are tall with fanned canopies that keep the rainforest dark. Warmth still radiates, however, but sunlight is a rarity and not needed as the environmental warmth is enough to feed energy to life that needs it. Life there lasts long.
Born into a world ruled by matriarchy. The lead doe (queen) decided everything in life, including who the lead bull was to be (never would they hold a ‘king’ title, the term foreign and unknown in their culture). Lead bulls have no say in any of the ‘politics’ of the herd, their main goal and objective in the society was to keep the herd safe, be the look out (though the herd were capable of doing all that on their own) and used for reproduction. Lead bulls were usually run out by a competing bull (who the queen allowed) or the queen herself after a couple years fawning to keep the lines fresh. New bulls were allowed to run out older male offspring without the queen’s interference, though male offspring were allowed to remain in the herd for longer if no lead bull was acquired, which would result in those male offspring having an even deeper rooted respect for females and a higher view of them. Some years the queen would disallow any male to take the place.
Queens were usually the oldest does, the ones who had experienced the most in life, and while the title was usually passed down to her daughter or granddaughter, it wasn’t unheard of that an unrelated doe, either from the herd itself or outside, would try to take claim. Proving worth came down to a multitude of things, from strength to charisma. While the herd would be bias towards a queen that had ruled for years with lenience and care, strength would also factor in, and could result in a battle to determine supremacy if bias came in to play. Usually the herd would be heavy with bias towards their original queen, if she was loved, and it was extremely rare for an outside doe to take over the herd by vote before battle.
Females of his kind and herd were generally exclusively homoromantic, the queen herself monogamous and would usually have a lover at her side (a kreshan), though polygamy with the does wasn’t unheard of or frowned upon either. Female offspring were the majority and favoured that were born, and while sons were undesired, they weren't treated negatively until they became of age and were run out. Older male offspring born in the herd were usually welcomed to return for visits, though related males born from does outside were usually met with indifference and sometimes hostility. Though does, related by blood, born into the herd or unrelated, were usually accepted and welcomed if they sought to integrate into the herd if the queen concluded they wished for it without malicious intent.
Males were usually larger and brighter to indicate health, which is something the herd would look for to pass on the ‘best’ genes for their offspring. The older the females got the brighter their markings would get, a visual representation of their life experience. Queens, herbalists, crafters, battle maidens are usually all older females, herbalists and battle maidens usually have a younger apprentice at their side to continue the practice once they’re gone and to help before that.
Kato was born to the queen's daughter, and was allowed to stick around the herd longer than usual as their lead bull passed away and the queen drove off any potential claimers. Eventually chased out when a suitable male was accepted into the herd and thus begun his nomad life until meeting a doe (Sana). For the first time in his life wanted to give himself wholly to only her, though came to know that she had been promised to another. Tried to fight for her, which ultimately led to her death. Changed a lot from that experience. Wanders a lot, usually doesn't call one place home anymore.
Born and raised in a forest that has certain levels of radiation pollen from a bioluminescent plant that emits it. The animals there have survived it with mutations, hence Kato's glowing markings, and the need for warmth or sunlight to feed him the energy he needs. Glows in the dark in a last ditch effort in absorbing any warmth or light it can to feed from. Does eat, but needs warmth and sunlight more than food.
After a lengthy period of little to no light or warmth to feed their energy, and is so lethargic they're on death's door, this species markings will continue glowing but also emit a certain amount of dangerous radiation, much like the plants that carved their DNA to begin with it, in another last ditch effort in defense.
