The crow simply nodded, burying his face into the warm fur of the orange stag, breathing out a soft sigh. He hated just sitting here, pratically waiting for somebody to come and sit with him. But he wasn't stupid, he was too weak and vulnerable, trying to move might just make him a target.
"Mm, yeah.. I suppose you're right," he responded with a faint laugh, seemingly distracted by something. His thoughts perhaps. "But thank you, so much."
"I guess-guess... I won-won't believe you, no... Who dare... ?" She was worried for the little crow, who was very fragile to her eyes. Maybe he wasn't, but she prefered ask about his status...
The crow laughed nervously again, ruffling his feathers once more. "It's my punishment for not keeping my damn beak shut," was all he offered on the matter; he knew it was stupid, that he deserved it, especially now after he had Tengfei chew him out earlier.
"I hurt, but it's nothing compared to the pain I felt on the inside. It.. it's getting better now." Much better.
"I... I hope you'll feel better... better an-and better evey-everyday... If you have any-any problem, just t-t-t-tell-tell it. I... I'm strong... Even-n-n-n if it isn't visu-visual phy-physically..." She smiled shyly. She was right. When someone provocated her, or her friends, so she wasn't really herself. She was totally umpredictable, a sort of daemon. Maybe because, when it happened, her past came back ? It wasn't really gone, after all...
Tandem merely nodded, offering the doe a subtle but grateful smile, moving closer just to nuzzle her for the same reason. "Mm, thank you.. I'm certain I will, I'm feeling a little better already."
"And thank you for the offer, but.. I'm hoping to avoid problems such as this in the future. All this violence grows tiresome." He nodded, somehow managing to stay in fairly good spirits with this all. Everything seemed to falling into place again.
Nat-Nat nodded back. "You're... You're right. I think I'm a doe who's searching the problems. I like to pro-provocate the deer that I dislike. But often, I prefer avoid them too." She looked at the little crow, hopping he would be ok with all this strange stuff.
"I go looking for trouble too.. maybe not consciously, but that's how I got myself into this mess in the first place. I know all too well what you mean," he explained. It was stupid of him, how he gets himself in these situations, but.. maybe he was finally starting to learn from it all. "Just as long as you don't end up looking like me, okay?" Offering a halfhearted laugh.
She slighly laughed in back. "I think we should try to control our actions. It seems like we love the mess." She smiled. Maybe she loved them ? Oh, certainly. That's why she always searched the problems around her ennemies, jumping and laughing around. She sighed. Stupid her...
"Hah, I think you're onto something there," he agreed with a faintly amused snort. He wouldn't lie, he was a very spiteful individual and often forgot how small and harmless he really was. At least Nat could defend herself.
- Nat' can be very fragile too, she just needs to be sick, then she is harmless too ♥ But Tandem has friends who are protecting him. Nat' will do if he has any problem again~ And if she is in-forest, of course -
"I don't know.. I don't even know where I would start, if only I could catch his scent or something," the crow murmured, trying to keep his calm. "Maybe you've seen him.. he's a peacock, just a little bigger than I am, with long, white tailfeathers. Have you?"
"Tandem, don't bother with her. She does what she wants, she doesn't listen to me and she's sure as hell not gonna listen to you. She doesn't stop 'til Sorog stops, and that's not happening anytime soon. Just let her do what she wants and save yourself some feathers."
"So you're saying she has no respect for anything or anyone around her? That's good to know.. that you're a horrible judge in character. It's none of her goddamned business, and she sure as hell isn't a martyr or anything close. While it's none of my business too, it's beyond disrespectful of her and I doubt they appreciate her butting in. ... Whatever."
"I don't know anymore. Sometimes I wonder. Excuse me, because I'd be the one jumping in to save your sorry ass when she attacked you for getting in her way, and I don't fuckin' want her mad at me anymore than she already gets. If she wants to stick her face into their business and get it whipped clean off, there's not a single one in this forest who can bloody well stop her," he replied, thoroughly irritated.
For once, however, that irritation wasn't directed at the crow.
"Yeah, if only that would happen. No offense to you, but that brute of yours seriously needs to be knocked down a notch, she's not as high and mighty as she thinks she is," he scoffed, still obviously enraged, "it just pisses me off, seeing her act like this. And here I was under the impression that she didn't even LIKE Sianna, or Sorog at that."
As the crow went on speaking, he kept his mouth shut. In spite of looking mildly annoyed or offended at certain points, he drew in a deep breath, and exhaled it in a heavy, exhausted sigh.
"Yeah, I would. You sure as hell wouldn't stand a chance against her. Though.. I still don't appreciate you calling my mate a brute," he responded, frowning.
"And actually she does like them. She's gotten all buddybuddy with Sianna again and Sorog, I don't get it. I think the guy's a blockhead but he's important to her so I've stood by her defending his sorry butt on a couple occasions." Of course, that was for the usual reason; not wanting to see his lover getting hurt.
"Well.. thank you. But, after what she's done to me, after what I've seen her do to countless other deer, that is all she is to me. And it's probably the nicest thing I could say about her, and I can't apologize for that," the crow huffed, feathers ruffling in frustration. "I understand your view, I just hope you can understand mine." It was thoroughly justified in his eyes.
He quirked a brow at the mention of them being friends now, looking skeptical and quite unamused; "that doesn't seem curious to you at all? That she would suddenly want to befriend those she hated so passionately. Then again, maybe it's everyone else who's dense for forgiving her despite many of them having been hurt by her at one time or another." He scoffed.
"Unlike everyone else, I didn't appreciate her acting all clingy or trying to protect me or whatever shit she might've claimed she was doing. I don't appreciate it in the slightest."
"I DIDN'T COME TO YOU FOR YOU TO FUCKING BITCH ABOUT HER," Crucio snapped suddenly, just as Tandem finished uttering the last syllable.
"I CAME HERE TO.. to tell you not to waste your time," He cooled down, gradually, setting his jaw as a quick shudder ran through him; a tremor, inspired but nothing more than an emotional overload. After a brief pause, he huffed and turned, pinning his ears back as his expression faded into one of extreme fatigue.
".. She'll kill you and I can't guarantee I'll be able to stop her. Just.. stop," he added in, hesitating a moment before starting off again. He was done.
Dismay snapped his beak shut sharply as the stag snapped so suddenly, bringing the bird to tense and draw back a bit, wings ruffling uneasily; just looking completely stunned.
"Look, alright.. I'm sorry," though he wasn't sure what he was sorry for exactly. Certainly not for what he said about that doe. It was likely he could simply feel how stressed Death seemed over this.
He hesitated a moment as he saw Crucio starting to walk off, still unsure of himself. But after a moment he took a few steps forward, looking towards the stag, "I'm still here if you ever need me, Crucio."
"You mean Bird!" The little brown doe stood before the Bird deer her anger bubbling up. "Why cant you leave Levi alone?! She is already hurt and she is having a baby! Don't be so mean to my sister!"
Tandem huffed as he eyed the doe, feathers ruffling in annoyance. He was already on edge and the last thing he needed was to be accused of such ridiculous things. "She's a liar and a backstabber. She's broken the hearts of those I love, hurt countless others. She's the reason my body's covered in scars." The crow tensed up, tears welling up in his eyes out of frustration.
"I once called her my sister too," he snapped, standing taller to stare the doe in the eye regardless of how much his legs trembled under his weight and the tears which threatened to spill over now. "I was trying to protect my family; the ones whom she has hurt. Don't be so quick to judge!"
Hikari couldn't help but take a step back. He was so emotional. "But Levi has had enough for today don't you think?" She looked Tandem in the eyes softly feeling bad for him but her anger still lurking. "I can understand that she might have hurt others, done things that hurt others but Mr. Tandem if you don't let what she has done go nothing will get better. A grudge is never something good to hold on to. And Levi wasn't doing anything to anyone. She was washing in the crying Idol because she was hurt. She wasn't truly bothering anyone was she?"
She ruffled out her pelt and looked around with a gentle huff. "P-please don't cry..." she whispered softly her body growing weak already with exhaustion. So much had happen in such a short time for her.
"I'm not looking for sympathy..." he huffed, trying to stifle a subtle sob. Life had been getting the best of this little crow lately and he could only handle so much heartbreak before he broke down completely. "She holds a grudge against me.. and for what? I don't even know! She never gave me a break when I was broken and bleeding! Why does she deserve any better!?" He snapped again, losing control over his emotions again.
"Tell me.. if somebody took everything you loved from you and sought to take your life as well.. would you hold a grudge against them? Would you be able to let something like that go?" Tandem uttered a broken sob as those tears spilled over, leaving wet trails through his fur as he ruffled his feathers in agony, turning away from Hikari in attempt to hide his face. It was a tough subject for him, and he desperately didn't want to cry in front of anyone else.
"I didn't want to take the chance.. there's never been a time that she's been around without ill intentions..."
Hikari took a step toward him trying to look at the little crows face. "I'm sorry Tandem...." She lowered her head further and stared at her hooves. She could understand how ridiculous it sounded to forgive someone that had done all that. "But.... I will tell you something about me that is like you."
Looking at him she tried to catch his eye "Both my mom and younger brother were killed by a stag that hated my family. My daddy left me alone and that stag kept trying to kill me. Mr. Tandem, I forgave him in the end. When I found him old and broken and still trying to hurt me. I couldn't hate him any more Mr.Tandem. I just couldn't hold my grudge of wanting to hurt him for hurting me."
She gently nosed his wet cheek her own eyes filling with tears she would not shed. After the gentle touch she took a few steps back "I don't want you to hurt Tandem. I don't want to see anyone in this much pain. So..." She hesitated preparing to be shot down "If you ever need someone I'll listen to you. And if Levi tries to hurt you come to me if I am around. She will be mad at me but I don't want you two to keep fighting this way."
"I suppose I'm just not as easily forgiving as others," he muttered dismally, letting his head fall. But there was no way he would ever allow himself to forgive that monster, not after she had done to him. Done to his family.
He twitched somewhat when the doe brushed against his face, stifling another sob. He truly was pathetic. "... Thank you," the crow murmured, just barely audible, lifting his head just enough to watch her walk away.
"You're quite warm" The voice is soft and light, airy almost, a long forgotten dream, spoken through silvery lips. Eyes like tar framed in ludicrously long eyelashes closing for a moment, but only for a moment, before returning to a half-lidded state.
The crow quirked a brow, tipping his beak off in the direction of the larger male. "Yeah? You are too." He hummed, ruffling his feathers pleasantly, a subtle smile tugging at the corners of his beak.
"Am I?" he tilted his head, a drowsy, curious motion. "I must have picked it up from another" he mused, long tail flicking at the tip.
He moved on feet that did not look like they should have supported him, thin and sharp at the ends, inspecting the dark feathers with a look of interest.
He knew other creatures with feathers. But none like this.
"They're quite pretty" he commented.
He could be a subtle creature, but, oftentimes it was better to simply be blunt.
"What is your name?" he questioned then, tilting his head slightly to the side, locks of crimson hair licking at his face.
The crow simply nodded,
"Mm, yeah.. I suppose you're right," he responded with a faint laugh, seemingly distracted by something. His thoughts perhaps. "But thank you, so much."
