background: The Puzzle is The Crocodile's puppet. The Crocodile is a soul-stealer, able to take any form and be anywhere at any time, whenever she wants. The Puzzle was once an immortal god figure in the human world. His name was Alumen, and he was the peace-keeper of all their land, whilst The Crocodile, living deep in the depths of an underworld, grew jealous of the power that Alumen had. The soul-stealers had to find many old, withered, or lost souls to gather up, else they should perish, and Alumen, spreading the kindness to the very stretches of the entire country, was considered responsible for the lack of souls being dragged to The Crocodile. She became angry with Alumen, and waged a battle against him for control of the souls. The Crocodile entered Alumen's mind and began pulling strings. She dragged him to the highest place in all the surrounding area and looked down upon the forested places and villages below. "Look at all of them," she told Alumen. "All those lives...I want them, Alumen. And since you won't give them, I suppose I have no choice but to pull you off of your high and mighty throne and throw you down there with them!" She hissed, seeping out of Alumen's brain and grinning with a toothy, Cheshire smile, dark violet eyes flashing. "You...you have many wonderul characteristics, you know... Allow me to show them to you...hehehe..." Laughing with a sinister tone, she reached with a boney finger into Alumen's own soul and threw what seemed to be nothing into the air and watched the wind take whatever it was away, floating down into the forest below. "Those were your very thoughts and feelings. Your hate, your anger, your beauty, your kindness, your goodness. They are all gone. You are now a puzzle, and you are missing all of your pieces. I suppose, then, that The Puzzle must go find his pieces now, doesn't he? The Puzzle can't go back to his kingdom as a mindless creature, can he? Haha...allow me to watch over your palace while you go frolic amongst the animals. Maybe...maybe if you find all the pieces...then you can return. But, ha...good luck with that, little Puzzle." In one fluid movement, The Crocodile struck him behind the head, shimmering swirls encircling him, and all that was left of the once proud, human Alumen, was a small fawn, looking up at The Crocodile with fearful eyes. "Your pieces have been scattered amongst the animals, you know. The pieces have become part of the deer. The other deer. Go find them. Go find your pieces." She laughed coldly and nudged The Puzzle off the side of the hill, sending him flailing and scrabbling, tumbling down the incline. He fell into the bushes at the edge of the forest, looking around himself with terrified eyes and feeling so very, very empty... |

It is almost like trying to remember things; if meeting a certain deer triggers the feeling of...i.e. kindness, then that deer is one of the pieces. Also, if a deer reacts in a certain way to The Puzzle, i.e. in an 'angry' manner, then that also triggers a 'memory' jump. To collect all of his pieces, he must stay in close communication with all the deer, seeing them as often as possible, and the more times the better. the found pieces: (Note: If you do not want your deer to participate or become one of the 'missing pieces', just let me know.) The Puzzle has found 2 of his pieces. |
