Had her fate dictated for innumerable centuries by her duty to Odin as a valkyrie and lived many lives both mortal and immortal among her sisters and humans. Was also bound by a story of her encounter with a certain hero that was repeated in folktales so often that it became an inescapable rut in time. They met, loved and died, changed names and forms again and again through the centuries, until she could finally take no more and begged her god for release. Unwilling to release her fully, he gave her an enchanted suit of armour that put her in a deep sleep and she rested for several lifetimes, until the legend of her reached the hero who cut her out of it, restarting their cycle once more. After yet another painful death Odin finally relented and displaced her into the Forest, where she would be free of the chains of her fate but still bound by her duty and her work. The hero's fate began to unravel without her to perpetuate his existence, but she tries not to think about that.
