Midnight Stroll
adventures of Deiyoru, the deer dragon
Frogs croaked in the lake off to the side while the hybrid deer trotted along through the night, blending easily with his black coat. However, when the moon's rays landed upon him. A soft wind blew against the tall fur upon his back before brushing against his medium sized tail and extra fur behind his legs while he continued on his way to who knows where.
His ears moved to each sound yet he didn't flinch or stop to see which direction since he knew what it was and it meant no harm. However, at the sound of hoof beats coming his way, he froze in mid step. The other stags were playing in the night despite the hour of his favorite time of day. He listened to every trot and gallop as well as pause they made to jump with each other before deciding to move on when he was sure that they wouldn't be alerted by him.
As much as they wished, they wouldn't find him anyway but they could steal hear him moving. As a hybrid of a deer and a dragon, he was given part of his genes by his mother, a deer, to be graceful and swift, while his dragon father gave him some sort of power. Of what? He didn't know but he did had some clues. A weird circle marking was on his left eye while...some sort of...other marking was on his right. He had no idea what they were but they gave him the power to be invisible in the night while he could be seen during the day. Those who did see him would either be threatened by his different and dark appearance being as black as the night with weird markings.
Deiyoru bent down to graze his mouth upon the grass before starting to grab and chew upon the food source while he slowed to a walk. It was a good thing he was part deer or he would be lurching up the plants since, in this place, there was no source of meat - not counting the other deer of course. He didn't really have the fangs to feed upon them and the small fang near his lips wouldn't help either. As his mustache dragged along the ground, he continued to eat and eat and eat until he had a nice midnight snack before heading off around the pond. As he did so, a roar sounded in the air. As much as his instinct told him to roar back, he held it back.
If he roared, it would most likely scare the other deer for his was far more terrifying sounding than the deer that wore the deer looking masks. His mutated tail twitched behind him at a fly crawling of his legs while he continued to walk onwards. One fly got too close to his nose and he let out a little sneeze and stomped the ground in irritation before letting out a low rumble sound. Damn pests! They never left him alone! Another landed upon his eye, like they knew it would bother him. After rearing up a little, he stomped his feet to the ground before jumping to a gallop. However, he wasn't careful and down he splashed into the pond.
With a low growl, Deiyoru started to swim to shore while scaring away the fish inside it. Stupid flies, they never gave any space! Walking on the shore completely wet, he shook off the water on his thick fur coat before snorting in discomfort. He hated getting wet! With weighted steps, Deiyoru started to venture off to the Old Tree area before the other deer would start to try and find him. Little did he know that the other deer could see his circle markings on his spine area as well as the crescent moon upon his eye. It was like they were floating on some type of form or were dragonflies following a floating moon.
It was a weird and yet interesting sight to behold.

Bit rusty and haven't written about deer in a while. I couldn't get this out of my head at all. I wanted to write out his history first but this wished to be out immediately.
