Name: Cavallo (Cah-Va-Lo) Nickname(s): Cav, Pony, Mr. Sunshine, Horse-face Brand: Grumpy Man Gender: Male, Stallion, Mustang; Him, His, He Pronouns Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual; Polyamorous Species: Mongol/Przewalski Horse Mix Birthplace: Siberia Diet: Strictly Vegetation Offspring: N/A Partner(s): N/A Voice: Vocals: Personality: Charming|Clever|Honest|Proud|Realistic|Comforting Smartass|Aggressive|Touchy|Arrogant|Sexist|Impulsive Cavallo is a very unique horse. Although he longs to make connections and even belong to a group, his stubborn and arrogant personalitly restrains him from forming bonds. With that said, the stallion enjoys being independent and living a bachelor's lifestyle, however will experience moments in which he longs for company. In result, Cavallo tends to seek out females for the instant gratification of having a 'partner', doing whatever it takes to keep their interests and attention on him. Males are welcome to interact with him, though it is a gamble to understand how he may react. The approach is the key. |
Born to the frozen plains of Siberia, Cavallo was welcomed into the world by a nuzzle, from his mother, and the chill of Father Winter on his back. Accepting his unfortunate circumstances, the colt was raised under strict and harsh conditions; being shaped to withstand anything, including the snow. With the ability and knowledge to adapt, Cavallo matured into a strong adolescent, observing and mimicking his father's competence to lead, hoping to hone his own leadership skills. By the age of 3, roughly 23 in human years, Cav transformed into an impressive equine, with all the swagger and charm expected for a stallion of his age. Unable to resist the temptations of his father's mares, Cavallo found himself crossing a boundary that would cost him more than just a pretty face. Bitten, hit, and chased out by his old-man, the male found himself alone, high, and dry. Vulnerable, without the protection of his herd, the horse wandered into uncharted territories, though remained vigilant of his surroundings. Although Cav was far from naive, his curiosity was what usually got him into sticky situations. - Dislikes humans. Finds them to be a selfish species, only interested in issues if they impact them drastcally. - LOVES GALLOPING. Like seriously, he can run and roam for hours. Also enjoys jumping and frolicking like a little foal. - Somewhat patient towards fawns, though will rarely participate in play and give affection if there are witnesses. Enjoys the idea of "teaching" young minds, but not physically affectionate towards strangers' offspring. - Sexist. Believes the female role is to bear the young and please the male. Finds females that take dominant roles to be a turn-off, and out of their rightful place. Believes males were born to be the protectors, teachers, and leaders of the universe. - Will stalk and observe groups or "herds". If comfortable enough, will approach and test individuals. - VERY touchy. Fails to understand personal boundaries, which gets him into trouble. *Feel free to correct him if he crosses the line* - Seeks out certain species. Will be more hesitant to approach human-faced deer just because of his views on them. Prefers individuals that appear like animals of prey. - Has a "Fight or Flight" mindset. Will fight if he believes he as a chance, but will not hesitate to flee if the situation, or individual, is overbearing/lethal. - Can easily be spooked, so may rocket away from an area or individual if this is caused. - CONSTANTLY alert. Will periodically stop, stare, and listen to surroundings. This could be followed by a series of pacing and walking around - Chasing and mimicking another's movements is another favorite pastime, and is a sort of bonding mechanism for Cav. - Will always try to herd. Cav loves a good herd. - Has a fear of fire |
Snaking: Snaking is a herding behavior and can be characterized by a horse lowering its head and pinning it's ears back flat against their neck and weaving back and forth. Cav will display this when trying to set dominance, keep others together (herding), or dictate an individual's direction. lowered antlers + walking/trotting Grazing: Because Cav is a Flower Patch + Obtaining Flowers + Head Nod (Yes) |
Pawing: This is a threatening action. If Cav is feeling uneasy about an individual, this pawing can be seen as a "Get away from me" or "Don't approach me". If this is the case, Cavallo will surely follow up by either fleeing the scene, or charging the perpetrator. Pawing + Lowered Antlers + Headshake Stomping: If Cav is nervous about something, whether it be a nearby predator or uncomfortable situation, he can be seen stomping the ground multiple times and fidgeting. Quick Dance + Headshake Sleeping: Cav will occasionally be seen standing up, and not moving. This is because being able to sleep standing up is a great advantage for a prey animal, and Cav can easily make a quick getaway if a predator were to approach him while he slept. However even though he's able to snooze standing, Cav will also lie down and rest from time to time. Standing and not moving Dust Bathing:Rolling behavior is one of the most conspicuously frequent social and grooming behaviors. Cav can be seen circling an area numerous times before fully rolling on the ground. The reason in doing so could be to dry himself off (if he was just in the water or sweating), scratching an itch, marking an area, or covering his coat with dust to prevent insects from biting. Circling + ROFL + Headshake (shaking dust/dirt) Shaking Coat: Perhaps there is a fly biting him or he's just trying to shake some dirt off, Cav will shake himself to provide more comfort and can be seen doing this constantly, usually after running. Headshake Observing: As a prey animal, Cavallo is always skittish of possible threats. Therefore, he will always be on the lookout for potential dangers. With that said, he will constantly pause, glare/stare in a certain direction, and then fidget slightly. This is his way of noting any movement, or shifts in the area. Halting + Stare + Circling + Halting |
