Hello. I'm Monster.
And this is my show.
I am a scholar.
I document unusual events.
Welcome to my Monster Show.
~Who am I?~
I suppose it is only appropriate to start my work with the most present unusual being at hand.
My name is of no greater importance, but since I come from a long-since extinct species, you may call me "Monster". I assure you I will not take offence.
I am fascinated by all things hidden, all things dangerous. And so, I have made it my life's work to document these things. This shall be my index.
Why do I document these things?
Maybe it is to warn the harmless and vulnerable, or maybe it is my own grim fascination of that which I have only barely escaped.
I take pictures of the things I see with a very helpful device created by the humans called a camera. I operate this using my mind and dexterity. Best not to ask further about this.
I have only recently appeared in these woods, though my work dates back centuries. Most of it has been lost to time and ignorance. Living beings tend to fear that which is different and so, I have wandered the earth for a long time, searching for a safe haven. This forest seems like such a place.
But darkness lurks behind every tree.
It is my mission to document this darkness.
Oh, and as a last note, if you should have any suggestions on anything unusual I could study, I will be happy to hear about it!
Entry nr. 1:
18-04-11
A strange creature observed among the trees.
A childish giggle accompanied it eerily.
Entry nr. 2
19-04-11
Managed a snapshot of the illusive
Rockhound.
Very fast little critter to capture...
Entry nr. 3
24-04-11
Met a very fascinating
individual at the ruins while searching for the creature from entry nr. 1.
Further research seems absolutely necessary. Subject is "armed" and dangerous, though recovering from, as he said, "an acid-bath".
29-06-11
How I ever managed to become this dangerous megalomaniac's private doctor is beyond me at this point. Luckily he is kept placid and mellow through flattery, but I can only disguise my nervousness for so long. Thanks to his violent behaviour I have acquired a limp on yet another leg. It will likely heal, but the scars and boils will last, I fear. A small price to pay for science.
I managed a look into his inner workings some time ago... It is truly fascinating! The power of his claw seems to originate from a large organ next to his heart filled with a mix of blood and some unknown pathogenic liquid, I gather. Incidentally, this little looks was also the reason for my current disability. I only praise my lucky stars I am still alive.
Entry nr. 4
30-04-11
-part 1-
A rather stressful week has passed by. This entry will be slightly longer than the rest.
6 days ago, I contacted the
malevolent entity inhabiting the blue bowl, as locals call it. I communicated with it and persuaded it to let its current victims be, if I could manage a proper burial for its remains. I managed to recover said remains under the "watchful" eyes of
a dear, old friend of mine and their... acquaintance. However, I sustained slight injury to one of my limbs by doing so. Must make future entry on the lake-dwelling beasts. They are, luckily, non-venomous, as I found out. Will bury the bones of the malevolent ghost at the ruins as soon as possible. They seem as good a place as any to do so.
-part 2-
Success! I managed to bury the bones in a quiet, sunny spot at the graveyard, close to a small field of poppies. I do hope my meagre contribution to the grave will be sufficient and will appease the restless spirit. Now all there's left to do is hope for it to work...

An artist's representation of me. How pleasantly surprising!
07-11-2011
Another artist's representation of me! A request on my behalf ♥
EMR flicked his tail, an
"Any way I can. Hehe." He figured that Monster would want more description than that.
"But, I like to infect through the mouth. Minimal defenses, and often plenty o' bad germs already there to help me out. Y'know, humans should really abandon the 'five second rule.'" He smiled menacingly. The movement of his jaw caused his neck muscles to move under Monster's claws. After that little tidbit, he fell silent, save for an eerie hum that quickly turned to nearly inaudible singing.
"...When you put your arms around me / I get a fever that's so hard to bear / You give me fe-ver..."
---
*drools* DAT SONGGGG...that's the song he always hums, ftr. ;]
[edit]; PAGE TWO IS MINE BWAHAHA.
Unknowingly, Monster could
"I see! How fascinating! How long does it normally take for the human to die?" He asked, not being aware of the fact that he might be stepping on a mine... He still had that hungry curiosity all over his face, like a sort of scientific wolf... And twice as greedy, it seemed, as he hardly noticed the paste beginning to run out.
---
*joins in the drooling* Do want! TwT TO THE YOUTUBE-MOBILE!
Fffff, you little page-ninja < w < ♥
He began
Chuckling.
Laughing again.
"Ooh, baby. I get better every time." He held his chain up on his hoof pinched up one of those violet beads.
"This little girl here from Cali...three weeks." He shifted around, pulled up another one. "Friendly lil' lady in De-troit. Six days." He pulled up yet another, laughing coldly. "Old man in Philly. Seventy-two hours."
He suddenly seemed sad. "My record was forty-eight hours...but they brought that guy back." Angry. A snarl contorted his face. "That's when that bastard killed me."
---
SPEAKING OF YOUTUBE. I found another superlulz video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByxzzeA23Ow
Monster frowned... But his
"And yet here you are... Alive. And, if I may, a lot more difficult to kill in your current state of being..." He was pondering... who would bring a creature such as this back from the grave, much less transform it into a cervine beast?... As he thought he carefully chewed another dose of paste, looking like he would be ponderously scratching his beard if he had hands... Or a beard for that matter. He seemed so deep in though, he was almost removed from reality, a frown creasing his brow and a heavy fog clouding his eye, half-lidded as it was in the sunlight. Obviously his naked skin and large eye did not enjoy the mid-day light.
Soon he began applying the paste again in utter silence, lost in his thoughts...
---
Omg, I laughed so hard XD
-Laughed even harder at Thrax' Thankless Job~ *is a repo-fangirl too*
He too sat in silence,
Harder to Kill.
He liked that thought.
He winced as some of the paste ran over a more exposed cut, pupils constricting to an impossibly small size as he immediately whirled and glared at Monster, then the wound, then back where he was looking earlier without a word.
He slowly calmed down and began humming again. It was creepy and strangely alluring, from the way he hummed it and the actual tune being quite nice but the smile on his face making him look more than just a little out of his mind.
---
I knowwww.
That one is funny too. I like the lip sychronization on that one too.
OH. DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO DO? We need to get on iScribble or something together. ;]
Flinching back as EMR lashed
He blinked calmly.
"Did it hurt?" He asked calmly, sounding even further away from reality than usually, but there was something... a small twitch at the corner of his mouth, a special tone in his voice... He almost sounded like he liked the thought of EMR being in pain! And he wasn't very good at hiding it to boot. At least not from someone who knew what to look for.
---
We totally should! Though I've never been on it before XD;;
(that's not very nice you
He hardly moved when Monster asked his question. He didn't even stop humming. But from the corner of his eye, he saw that smile, heard that pitch. He suddenly seemed quite inspired to destroy something.
Monster knew what it looked like when the Boss dug his claws in to a rock. But a little snake just so happened to be slithering by.....
EMR smiled creepily, moving his heated claw forward and ever so lightly touching the snake's lithe back, which caused the creature to flinch. Veins of orange began to spread over its body. It writhed in agony, mouth agape as it screamed inaudibly, before literally exploding into a bubbly red mass and bursting into flames. Flames die. The snake is gone.
"Fe-ver! / 'Till you sizzle / But what a lovely way to burn..."
---
Shall we? If I could have your username, I can invite you to my board. :]
Though this had an unexpected
He stared for a moment.
Then a positively disturbing grin crept across his face.
"My word! I've never seen anything like that!" He said, finally directing his gaze back to the much larger stag. There was not a hint of fear. Only hungry, greedy curiosity.
---
Derp, I'll have to make an account first, then XD;;
He did not at all seem
"I'm the Red Death, baby. I'm the only one who can do that." He smiled darkly, examining his claw, his handiwork, and then the odd little stag who was now becoming something of a friend, even if the feeling wasn't exactly mutual.
"It's even more fun with birds. If we get one, I'll show you." He said happily, willing to show off his disturbing talent.
---
Okay. :]
And yet again, Monster's eye
"Do indulge me, good sir, why would it be even more "fun" with birds?..." Even excited, Monster kept a professionally polite tone. He sounded like he was mentally stuck somewhere in the Victorian era... Not an unlikely theory at all, seeing as he was centuries old already...
---
Argh, it ain't accepting new member atm D:
His face was equally
"Birds are more fun...the fire's more impressive with all those feathers. And they scream." He grinned and tried to mimic the sound...not hard for him to do. It was a very convincing raven-death-scream, and he chuckled afterwards.
"But they're much, MUCH louder."
---
Fft. DAMN YOU ISCRIBBLE.
Tilting his head slightly,
"Sounds fascinating!... I would very much like to study the different effects your... power has..." He said, inching closer yet again to rub the rest of the paste onto The Red Death's wounds.
He was completely swept away by this individual... In the darkest corners of his heart, he even wished the bigger stag would get hurt again so he could experiment with healing herbs on him... and maybe look into how he was able to even be alive, having been a single-celled organism in a previous life... And the most unsettling part about all of this, should one be able to read the tiny scholar's heart... would be that that darkest corner was his heart.
---
Totally! D:
He chuckled. "Sure, I'll give
"Sure, I'll give you a look if you can catch me the bird, baby." He almost purred, as if catching a bird would be a true delight. He was enjoying the slight sting of the herb paste being applied to his skin, especially because it would make him able to go home and add to his collection sooner.
---
A very late, short post. /fails
Do you have Skype, then?
Though Monster gave a small,
"I do believe catching a bird might prove to be a... challenge... for an anatomy such as mine..." He said in a very clinical manner as he pulled away, beholding his "work" with satisfaction, tilting his head from side to side. He was a predator, true, but like vampire bats he waited until his victims were asleep before pouncing... Still, give it 'till midnight and he might be able to find a bird somewhere... He looked thoughtful.
"But I might be able to capture one in an unaware moment..." he mused, directing that sharp, seeking eye at EMR once more. It was like a scalpel, ready to cut a tumour away...
---
-edit- Yes, I have skype >w< My name is the same as my main-account here, so easy enough to find~
He nodded. "I got one when it
"I got one when it landed on me and tried makin' a nest in my hair." He shook his head, and the purplish tendrils flopped against his neck.
He too stared at Monster, his gaze less sharp and more piercing. It was almost welcoming, but in the back of it you could see that there was a certain greed and definite bloodlust, and something else that could not be named.
---
I added you. I am theonlymockingbird ;]
Chuckling slightly, Monster
"Such silly, little creatures... they seem to be completely at peace with the inhabitants of this forest..." He said quietly, observing as a spider flitted across the bared ground.
---
I can't find you! D:
He touched the spider with
"Mmh-hmf."
He then resumed to hum his chilling tune as if nothing was happening.
---
DAMN YOU SKYPE. *tantrums*
Only managing another curious
"Would I be wrong in assuming you don't like spiders?..." He asked, eye shining at the prospect of learning more... As always.
The tiny thing shivered slightly, but not from the cold. From the rays of the sun. They were annoying his skin and making him give an almost blind glare at the sky.
God, how he wished they could move to the shade... Somewhere damp and shady, preferably...
---
FFFFFFFFFF, We are not amused!!
Send me a message or something so I can find you? : D
He glanced at the sky,
"Every time I see a spider, baby, it tries to eat me." He looked at the small pile of ashes. "'Course I don't suppose they're a big threat to me now...heheh."
With the way the sun was positioned, there was a shadow cast by the large stag on just the other side of him. Not damp, but significantly cooler than the sunlit side.
---
Okay.
And lo and behold, Monster
"I see... Good point that..." He said, giving an extraordinarily toothy yawn. He'd been up all night and it was finally taking its toll, especially with his brain working double-time trying to figure out the mystery that was EMR. Being up in the sunlight didn't agree with a nocturnal being in the least.
---
I'm not sure I got that T___T
Yawns are contagious. His
Viruses are non-living organisms with some living characteristics. They cannot reproduce among themselves. They do not need nourishment or sleep. They are resistant to cold, heat, water, and wear. Alcohol is their only real weakness.
At this rate, he would only become more tired and hungry until eventually he perished.
"Hnnh..."
---
Yeah, it's saying it didn't send. Hmpf.
Do you have a Yahoo?
Tilting his head and
"Have you been resting properly lately?..." He didn't really know if he should help this virus... it would probably be best to just let him die... But how could he let such an interesting test-subject die?! It would be scientific blasphemy!
---
No, but I have an hotmail, it's not_getting_this_one at hotmail dot com >w< <-- also my msn : D
With that little outburst he
"STAY AWAY FROM MY FACE." He growled, trying not to make a scene. The swift movement had dropped a few dreadlocks into his face, making him look quite threatening.
He didn't answer the question, but his claw began to glow very brightly. It wasn't cooling down this time.
---
OH DAYUM HE PISSED HIM OFF NAO. /shot
I'll send you a request. :]
Fear flickered quickly in the
"Now, take it easy..." He said, standing his ground, though having been shoved quite a way away.
"I was merely enquiring as to your sleeping-habits. Excuse my... straightforward form." He said, somehow managing a soothing tone to his voice.
There was something unnerving in the way he barely even flinched as he was shoved away and how he just stood there, still as a rock... Either he'd tried this much too many times, or he had an ace up his sleeve... Well, fur... Skin-folds? Whatever. It was still and ace, and he still possibly had it.
---
Yeeessss~ Let's poke that tiger, why don't we! : D
He seemed to calm down
"Well, stay out of my face. I don't need anyone that close." He huffed indignantly, and even in the warmth of midday it created a slight fog. Touching him now would feel like placing your hand over a burning candle.
After that little episode, his patience would be running quite thin.
---
I think he just needs a nap. Oh wait. He doesn't know how to sleep. Poor guy. :c
Did I get his temper down alright?
Sensing his thinly-worn
He sat down calmly, licking his teeth.
"Did you ever sleep as a cell?..." He asked calmly, sounding almost like a psychiatrist. He was a scholar, alright... of pretty much everything. Doctor one moment, teacher the next and shrink the last. He had had many lifetimes to study everything his ever-hungry brain could engulf itself in.
---
Prolly XD I wonder if Monster'll ever convince him to go to sleep XD
And yeah, you got it spot-on! 8D
He chuckled coldly. "You seem
"You seem smart. Don't you know that viruses can't sleep?" EMR's head drooped. He kinda sapped out his energy with that little outburst. "I've never slept a wink."
Then he remembered. Thraie. She was teaching him how to survive here, and sleeping was one of them. But he couldn't sleep well without a little bit of assistance. Best not to ask this new aquaintence...he seemed a bit off his rocker...
---
Okay, I was worried I messed up. I can totally see him being this drowsy, hormonal, mood-swingy dude if he ever needed sleep for some reason. xD
Monster simply tilted his
"You don't know how to sleep." He stated neutrally, laying down, stretching, though still keeping a very sharp eye out for EMR. He knew when to be cautious, after all. And now, while his newest subject was being on edge and frustrated was a very good time to be cautious indeed.
Though he was hoping very much his little subject would at the very least ask for some help if sleep wouldn't come naturally to him...
---
Yeah, exactly, me too xD
"What a deduction." He
He dropped his now pain-free head and neck to the warm grey stone. It wasn't so much a matter of getting to sleep as it was waking back up. Once he slept for half a day, Thraie had to watch him the whole time to make sure he didn't die or anything. But death was unlikely, seeing as the beast was fairly robust.
And yet with that thought he felt his eyelids become too heavy to keep open and he drifted into a dangerously light sleep.
---
Okay, I'm gonna call it a night now. It's 1:30 in the morning, lol. Go ahead and reply, just don't dissect poor sleepy Thraxie. <3
Monster watched. And
And watched.
Waited...
And finally smirked.
He was positive that the red stag was asleep.
Getting up lightly, he crept closer, looking the sleeping being all over, sniffing his wounds and injuries, making calculations at how fast they would heal, snapping a few more snapshots... And finally lifting a claw, suddenly seeming dangerously sharp, striking it downwards!... -to cut a very fine, loose piece of skin away from a thoroughly treated wound.
Smiling, Monster put himself down in the shadow next to the stag, wrapping the piece of skin in some leaves. He'd catalogue it later... right now, he was tired... tired enough to sleep next to something that nearly bit his head off only moments earlier. He only hoped El Muerte Rojo would be in a better mood once he woke up...
---
Ohhh, it was almost too tempting xD And I pulled an all-nighter too, it's 07:45 over here and I RP'd through the night xD
(Oh damn, all-nighter? -shot-
It was fascinating ;A; well done you guys~ )
Aw, you little stalker
Yus. I had fun. I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be on the road all day today so I might get on later tonight (you and I have like...a six hour time difference, but whatever xD). It would be funny to see him wake up and somehow notice that he's missing some skin and just start spazzing out, lol.
"HOMG WTF DID YOU DO TO ME? D:<"
Oh my lord, totally!
"Gah, nuffin'! D:" *hiding skin behind back*
Also, I hope I'll catch you at that time, I really enjoy RPing with these two xD
^ LOL. RUN.
Run like the wind, Monster!
xD
-flails around here-
I think today's events
This is a written account, presumably by a previous victim. The implications of this record suggest the writer themselves is likely deceased, and was in close contact with another victim. All that is legible is here;
"Its bloodlust is insatiable.. never has the spirit made contact with us, but I feel it has tried to take over us on more than one occasion. My body feels rigid, as if ice is beginning to run through my veins, freezing my blood.. that's how I know it's here. It started with nightmares.. I'd wake up in a cold sweat, shaking, and for a while that was all that happened. As the weeks went on I became ill with anxiety, unable to sleep, for fear of more of these terrors. I'm worried that it won't go away, now it's following us, now that we've disturbed it so foolishly."
There's a breaking where the writing is impossible to examine, exceptionally messy in comparison to the rest. Then, after a few lines, there's this;
"They ended it themselves, they couldn't stand it, it became too much for them.. it's been weeks for me, I can't stay here, I can't stand it, it needs to be GONE, it's--"
The ink then trails off, there are smudges all across the page, and tears in a few places. The tears may only be from weathering and aging, however.
I'm concerned that it's chosen a new victim as of tonight.. this one, Quiver. It may be wise for you to speak with him.. ideally before his mind comes undone, if all that's been said is true. We may have a silent killer on our hands.
What an intriguing piece of

I'm so glad you think so! No,
