Hearts are always sadder

Hearts and harps are always sadder when their strings are not plucked
Pulled apart from almost every chord they hold here
And will I wait for you through times of trouble and darker forest still?
Though I will carry you, will the weight be too much?

"Hush now, heart of mine.

I know, I know.

Soon now"

What will my heart appear to be after all this is done?

"I hear you. I hear you.

Soon now, I swear."

"Ever bossy, they always say follow your heart. Some don't know the meaning of that.

Hush now, darling.

I know, you fret.

They will be fine. My son. My friends. The world goes on.

The world goes on."

"But those in it.

Do not."

Hearts and harps are always broken when their strings are pulled too hard
Fragile frames are often known to break a thousand times again
Though I will carry you, will the weight be too much?

And if I dream of you, will the sleep be too much?. . .

_________

Short and simple. He always was like that.
I want to thank everyone who was a part of his story.
Especially Whey, Ammy, Leveled, Kaoori, Scythe and Amazon.

Feels like the end of a chapter.

I've been clinging to him for too long. Quite a weight.

You may feel free to reply In-character as well, if you feel your deer was close enough to him to have anything to say in parting.

Villy? Tracking.

Villy?
Tracking. Hard.
Stalking like a hawk.

Oh... Vil ♥. He's glad

Oh... Vil ♥. He's glad to go, mm?
It's beautiful that you did this for him, short and simple, yes.
I couldn't stop myself.

It was not something that was to be expected, certainly not. Even after so long without seeing her dear friend, she had not expected this. It had been the scent that had tipped her off, it had always been unmistakable. Neck bent, a foreleg brushed her mask away, something so seldom done. She met the blood-stained fur with her muzzle, pressing her face into his neck with a shaky sigh that made her entire body shudder. She nudged him hopelessly, and whispered to him, "It has been a w-while, dear Vilnius." she paused here, resolving that she would not stutter, not now, no matter how she felt. "I still remember when we sat in the Old Oak, it was raining outside and your pelt was clean, your mask shone." the blue doe curled into his side, licked his fur affectionately. It did not matter that he was no longer there, a corpse would do little to frighten her away. She stayed beside him, finding no will within her to leave him, no strength to stand. Burying her face into his side, she locked out the world and thought only of her dear friend, as painful as it was to do.

Eventually, after an unknown space of time had drifted on, she rose from beside his lifeless side. It was a slow rise, reluctant, and hauled herself before his face, his antlers, and his heart. With her muzzle, she delicately reached out and touched the green organ, as if somehow afraid of hurting him. "Always carrying the hearts of others upon your tines, did your own heart finally grow weary of keeping so many others safe?" her voice was soft and filled with sorrow, however there was also the unmistakable sound of affection within it, too. He seemed at peace, out of pain. Should she really be feeling so broken if he himself appeared to have accepted this?

"Whenever it rained, I always hoped that you were somewhere enjoying its cleansing. Whenever it rains, I shall remember you, and be assured that it will always be with absolute fondness. I wish only that we had the opportunity to spend more time in each other's company." and, having tried her best to convince herself that he had been peaceful in passing, she scooped her mask up once more and lingered no longer around his corpse. Her thoughts, however, they would stay with him, and he would never be forgotten.

Kao and Vil didn't get along,

Kao and Vil didn't get along, but I think they came to an unspoken truce, and I'm glad of that now.

I'll definitely write a small reply..I just want to find the words.
