The thrush flapped her unbroken wing, she knew it would be no use, but it was worth a try.
The cat leaped on her with a yowl, it's claws sinking deep into the thrush's back. Teeth snapped dangerously close to her neck, pulling out feathers. The cats jaws closed around the thrush's neck, about to bite down, when an angry human voice rose above all other sounds. Suddenly, the cat was lifted off the thrush. The thrush turned her head weakly to look up at the human. It held the cat in its arms, making angry noises. Then the human put the cat down, shooing it off in the other direction.
The human crouched next to the thrush, making soft cooing noises. The thrush couldn't understand what the human was saying, but she thought it felt sorry for her.
Then the human stood up, walking away, leaving thrush all alone in the grass.
The thrush must have fallen asleep, for when she woke, the great raven, the god of all birds, was standing in front of her. There was an unmistakable sorrow in his eyes, one that that made the thrush feel as if the world was ending! The great raven looked at her for a heartbeat more, than spread his wings and flew away.
The thrush felt terrible. The raven had just left her! As the thrush lay there, her life bleeding out onto the grass, she wondered, if she did not follow the great raven into the sky, where would she go?
The thrush didn't know how much time had passed, but as her eyes began to close, the great raven appeared again, this time followed by two others. The raven landed in front of the thrush, one wing spread out as if to point to her. The others, deer, the thrush thought, looked at each other. Then one walked up to the thrush and looked at her. It turned to it's companion, who nodded. Then it looked to the raven. The raven nodded, and bowed to the deer. The other deer walked up, and, before the thrush knew what was happening, she was in a forest.
'Welcome," The thrush heard voices in her head. "To the Endless Forest. We are the Twin Gods, ABIOGENISIS. We will keep you safe, we keep all safe, here, in the Endless Forest." The thrush lifted her head, witch felt heavier than usual, and looked around. "For a new life," the Twin Gods continued. "We decided to give you a new body, and a new name. We found it only fitting that you should be a-" "A DEER!!" The thrush screamed. "IM A DEER!!" "Yes." The Twin Gods said. "The majority of the creatures in the Endless Forest are deer. But don't worry, we picked a name that has ties to your old life. You, are Cholena. It means bird. A part of you will always be a bird." With that, the Twin Gods were gone, and Cholena, was all alone, in the Endless Forest.
Cholena spent most of her time checking herself out, and exploring the forest.
One day, Cholena woke to find a thrush perched on a tree branch above her. It tweeted, and Cholena was surprised to find that she could understand him! Who are you? The thrush tweeted. You're new!
*THIS IS UNFINISHED. I WILL DO MORE LATER.*
