...actually, I can´t see why not, since I have undrestood that even regular deer/elk might sometime kill small animals and eat some part of them. Atleast when they´re in enviroment that the food-source isn´t good enough they can eat bones from dead animals to get calcium(?) or some other thing they´d need... in some occansions they have even realized that they get bones also from live-animals, and might attack them. Saw a documentary of it in tv some time ago... a bit disturbing mental image. ^^;
I also read once that reindeer might catch and eat lemmings&other small rodents, but not sure how true THAT is since that was the only time I have even heard about such a thing.

My point being, TEF-deer might be able to prey on small animals also, maybe even better than real deer, if they feel like it... isn´t there already a few meat-eating characters in the forest?

I kind of disagree, to me the eyes on the TEF deers always looked as if they more to the side than anything else, taking into consideration the fairly human face.


I've heard about rabbits and such sourcing calcium from fallen deer antlers, but not the other way round! How odd, you wouldn't think they'd be able to do that @-@;

I can't say I'm a big science wiz but I have been told by people that hunt white tail deer is that the white tail bucks will eat the velvet sheddings from their antlers when the times comes. It is supposedly full of nutrition.

I would not be surprise if deer eat plenty of bugs too. Whether they do it on purpose or not. After all with all the grazing they do they are bound to digest a bug or two that happens to be on the plant.

I thought it some time ago, and i agreed that Kat would be omnivore (cuz this deer has sightly eyes at the sides, not like humans-humans ) but then, we could not know! When TEF deer's open their mouths, you cannot see any teeth! XDDD

I looked at the picture and thought -If cat were on that situation... OmG! Run Kat, feeding chain has collapsed!- but then i realized about... -Kat would eat him first! XD-

Not very gory, but do not watch if something like that freaks you out, just thought that it would fit in the subject since it´s quite bizarre to see them doing something like that.

Deer are really herbivorous, but seems like they have some weird habits sometime... I think my deer will never hunt anything more menacing than mushrooms or grass, though, be TEF-deer omnivorous or not. I don´t think they are meant to be hunters either, maybe opportunists if there isn´t enough food at most. That shouldn´t be a problem in the Endless forest though with all the grass and berries around. ^^
