hmm..........tipstipstips..........umm let's see:

1. Hue/Saturation is your friend
2. so is the lasso tool
3. and layers XD
4. Under Image>Adjustments are all types of awesome things to try out.
5. as well as the Filter menu
6. In the layers box under "layer mode" experiment with the different types.
7. Transparent text can give a nice effect
8. ALWAYS check to see if the images you are using are stock images and that the creator gives permission for others to use them
9. experiment with everything to find out what you like best. Combine things you never before thought to combine. just go crazy with pressing buttons. Sometimes something awesome happens, and other times it looks bad. So just click undo and try something else.

that is, if you use photo shop, if it's paint or whatever, I have no idea X'D
