Cuz I... felt like it. I DUNNO. Everything in this story is unedited. I didn't add or subtract anything.
---
It was sunny, the blue sky bright overhead the strange little moon. The rocky gray soil slightly damp from the rain last night. The planet it circled was high overhead, just next to the sun, seemingly. Pine-like trees were now unfurled to catch all the sun they could before it set again. It was quiet. Only a few birds chirped in the trees, and a few bugs made their noises as well. No creatures that we're familiar with, but close to them.
But there was a small band that had awoken some time ago, and were on the move. Their face was a kind of mix between animal and human, with thick woolly fur surrounding most of their bodies, save for their wrists down, their calves, and their faces. And their legs were constructed like that of an animal, with hooves at the ends, but larger, and segmented into five toes. Their tails were of medium length, but the fur grew long and dragged along the ground. They had the likeness of sheep.
One was a young man named Giuseppe. A paranoid creature who could never leave the presence of his mother. His woolen fur was dark gray, while the shorter fur along his arms, calves, and face was black. The horns growing just above his long droopy ears were fairly short, barely curved at all yet. He was thin, and trembled often. His voice was quiet, and his mindset was that of a child.
Another, Giuseppe's mother, was stronger than her son. She stood straight and her build was firm. Her name was Florence, a kind, motherly creature with much patience and understanding. Though at first she could come off as cold. Her woolen fur was white, and the shorter fur was a dark chocolaty brown. The hair on her head was long, white, and wavy, just as her fur. She had three somewhat covered scars on her left cheek.
The other two were common looking creatures, light gray wool with white shorter fur. The names were not revealed for these two. Some say the first was named Matt. He was an explorer and archaeologist, looking for new discoveries and clues to the civilizations before them. The other has even less information about what his name was. But the popular belief is that his name was Noah. He was a partner to Matt, and some say a brother.
These four were moving, running across the rocky land in search of something, anything. They ran on all fours, for some reason, their animal-like back legs being more powerful that way than running with two legs. They had traveled far since the morning began, since the second rising of the planet. They ran across the gray sand and rocks, jumping down any dips in the surface and climbing back up the other side. There were many small craters that could be easily ran across, but all that climbing took its toll.
Giuseppe, the one in the lead today, climbed a particularly large crater and stopped, panting. There was snow here. A thin layer of patchy snow across the rocky soil. He had tried running through it, but it was rough and crunchy, making his knuckles and feet hurt. He looked to his mother, who was behind him.
“Mama, I'm getting tired... Can we rest here?”
Florence trotted to a stop, looking around, before nodding. “Sure... It seems safe to rest here.”
The mother and son found two flat boulders to lie on, away from the snow. They climbed up to the top, telling the other two to do the same if they wished. Giuseppe laid down on his back, next to his mother, propping his head up against another flat rock he found up there. His thick, curly hair made plenty of cushion for the hard surface he had to sleep on. Florence only sat for a while, singing a tun to help Giuseppe sleep while the sun was still up. Matt and Noah climbed onto the same rock, but sat at the edge and spoke of their past discoveries.
Giuseppe still peeked around with sleepy eyes. He looked at the planet, halfway setting on the western horizon. It was covered in white, spiraling clouds. He pointed to the planet, “Look Mama... A hurricane.” He smiled sweetly, only seeing a hurricane on the planet once before. It was a great sight to him.
Florence, having seen many hurricanes before, only looked. She smiled kindly at her son's wonder, and continued to sing softly. The sun was still fairly high, the day was only a little more than half over.
When Giuseppe had finally awoken, the sun was about to set. The sky was a darker blue, becoming an orange-red near the horizon. The planet was gone. The other two were on the ground again, looking around. Florence helped him climb down with her, but when they touched their feet to the ground, Giuseppe jumped.
The snow had melted over the hours, and now everything was covered in a few inches of water. The water was cold, which had taken Giuseppe by surprise. But when the surprise was over, he was amused. He splashed his large hooves in the water before spotting something.
“H-Hey Matt, look at this!” He picked up a small, broken coin, showing it to Matt. “It was in the water..”
Matt took the coin, looking it over. “I haven't seen one like this before...”
Giuseppe blinked, “Eh, there's another one!” He picked a different coin up, once again broken, and showed it to Matt. And Matt took the other one.
“This place must have quite a few things here...” He studied the two coins. “Maybe we should stay here for a while.”
Florence nodded, letting out a yawn. They would continue in the morning. She didn't have the energy to stay up all night with Giuseppe, who had slept through the evening. But she couldn't let him off on his own. She decided to climb back onto the boulder with her son, keeping him close and telling him not to get off the rock. He could sit there all night and watch the stars. And if he stayed up long enough, he could see the planet rise again. Giuseppe had never done that before.
