I got a tablet YAY and am just starting to get the hang of it, i would really like your advice. Tell me how improve, if you think it's rubbish, just say as well! x3
1) Practice! Everyone starts somewhere and you only get better with time, if you keep at it.
2) Look at photo references. Try to avoid drawing something from another art reference, because there may be hidden anatomical flaws. :3
That is all. &hearts
This is very nice, by the way! I really like the tail for some reason..
Thank you, and yes, i hate the back end.... Also, the tail, that was just fun lol xDDDD I did do a big bushy one but it looked like a horses so i just rubbed it out, and then.... nothing, but thank you both for your replies -now goes on link to look- Thanks
The neck/chest looks slightly off somehow to me, and I can't quite pinpoint why D8 But otherwise I think this is amazing :3 Keep it up~! -snugs + feeds lovemuffins-
I love it i dont see nay major probs cause at the end of the day u had a go so a big well done. Theres not much i can say cause everyone elses hints and tips are really good and constructive. so please keep it up don't lose heart and happy drawing.
Well, first thing I noticed is his/her back could use some more shape (the spine that is), have it protrude a bit where the front legs' shoulders should be. Well, I guess fayne sums it all up better than I could.
It helps if you draw a quick skeleton/shape to get the anatomy correct before you start drawing, I do it everytime I have to draw a human character anyway.
Also, the eyes are bigger then they should be, depending on if you're going for a realistic style or more cartoony. But try to keep in mind there's eyeballs in there, and if the eyes are that big, the eyeballs wouldn't fit in a head that size.
As for the coloring/shading, if you make your brushstrokes in the direction of the fur, it'll look like fur ^^ (like you did on the head and legs, but not the neck). Use the coloring not just to fill the linework with color, but to create texture as well by thinking about the direction of brush strokes for example.
Over all I think it's a very impressive drawing, way better then the wolves I was drawing just a few months ago.
~Random tip that may or may not help, sometimes just watching a dog running/jumping (Videos off youtube and such) Can give you a feel as to how they're shapped and how the move, it can make posing a lot easyer. <3

In anycase, it's not too bad. Also, the tail is upside down =P It'd look better if it was bent into a backwards J shape.
Also, this is a very good tutorial for basic dog anatomy from an artist's point of view http://bonz847.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-Canine-Anatomy-37102097
