Something Dark - 1-29-09

I just love being a grown up. Oh, did I forget to mention that? Yup, I've finally grown up and into my antlers. I'm not that pretty to look at just yet, but with each passing day I become more and more like the me I'm meant to be.

Well, as I woke up today---expecting the forest to be all bright and full of bird-song---something strange welcomed me. Fog. Now, I love fog just as much as the next deer, but when it's coupled with the haunting cries of wolves... *shivers* The fog was much to thick to see the lurkers, but I'm ready for them! Just let them try to eat me!! Bats where also rampantly flying over head, their leathery black wings beating across the sky, but I rather liked them.

.

Fog or no fog, wolves or no wolves, I love the forest and no little precipitation is going to stop me! So after finding a few friends and experimenting with coat colors---and even dancing to a very haughty tune!---I laid down within a fairy ring with another fellow who proceeded to turn me into a bat! I'm afraid to say the other fellow got the short in of the stick, as I repeatedly failed to gain the transformation spell. I'm not surprised that after a while he grew tired of me and went to seek fun else ware. But I was persistent, after 3 tries I managed to gain the power and return the favor.

The forest is starting to get colder. I think I'll curl up beneath the big tree for the night. With those wolves roaming the forest and the wind whipping about, I'll feel much better there.

SCRAPBOOK - Pg 1

My first couple of days in the forest.

I met a bunch of new friends and got to play around with the antlers and coat colors. I only wish they would stay. I can't wait until I grow up!

My first antler alterations ^_^ I love the big ones, and the candles.

Perhaps some new friends?

Some new friends and I played around with the masks then did some line dancing ^_^ It was fun trying out all the new faces and their voices!

I came across these guys while I was wondering the water's edge. With some more line-dancing and spinning in place! Yay!

I woke up today into a bright and cheery forest. Dandelions had sprung up in the wake of yesterday's rain--their yellow heads brightening the forest even more. And my coat color has changed! I now sport a lovely gray coat. I can't wait until I'm bigger so I can keep it. Until them I will stick with my pretty purple flowers.

Off to play!

The herds that roamed the forest during the day have thinned and all but disappeared. Those I do find are curled-up tight for the night. It seams like most the other deer have gone to bed. Perhaps I should, too. I've enjoyed my day and the tranquil lapping of the waterfall is luring me to sleep. Not to mention all the rock jumping I did today. Perhaps I'll practice flying just a bit longer...

I did just give myself a fright! I turned myself into a squirrel! First orange and than a squirrel--what more mischief can I cause before it's bedtime?

I just saw myself! Quite literally, too. I was looking for a nice spot to sleep for the night and lo-and-behold, there I was, curled up and and fast asleep already. I must be some sort of a time travler! ^_^

Today is officially my second day in the forest. Everything still feels all new—I just love my velvety-soft fawn pelt. I can't wait until I grow up and those flashy pelts I see the stags running around in finally stick. Flowers for antlers will have to do for now.

It's raining today, which is a nice change from the snow of two days ago. I love snow, but the tall purple flowers that have sprouted around the forest are just to magical. They're so unique I can't help but ponder their greater importance than to entertain the birds. Not to mention all the fairy rings! I just love mushrooms, don't you?

*yawn* I'm tired. Running around in the forest all day can be tiring for a fawn. I think I'm going to go take shelter under that big tree in the middle of the woods and take a nap.
