Eyestrain, I know what you mean... I used to be very cautious with watercolors like that. But if you´re using oil or acrylic, you really don´t have to be worried about ruining the canvas, because if you don´t like what you make you can always paint over it.

Sighthoundlady, Thank you, you flatter me. =) Like I said above, oil isn´t actually that "cruel" media as it might feel like, because you can keep working on it as long as you want. I have found out that it´s more "forgiving" that watercolors (atleast to me) because fixing it is always possible after it´s dried out.
