You're saving the spelldata by:
Go to My Computer
Local Drive (C:)
Program Files
Tales of Tales
The Endless Forest 3
userdata (NOT data)
COPY SpellData.cgr
Make another folder where you can remember it
Name the folder something like "DriumSet1" do NOT change the name of SpellData.cgr
Put SpellData.cgr into "DriumSet1" (I put my folder in My Documents, but that's me)
And it's Saved.

To change SpellData, my suggestion is to have both your Local Drive (C:) and "DruimSet1" folder windows up.
Ok, COPY (NOT cut) the SpellData out of the folder YOU made
Flip over to the other window (C:) -> Program Files -> Tales of Tales -> Endless Forest 3 -> userdata
Now, once in userdata, PASTE your SpellData
A window should pop up asking if you wish to replace the current SpellData with your copied SpellData.
Say yes/ok

If you do this while you have the Forest open, it won't work.

I don't know how Vista effects things in the Forest, so I don't know if it is or isn't the problem, but try COPYing your SpellData next time, see if it works then
