Born into a nomadic tribe, Yarrow once lived peacefully with her family in the deep mountains of the Highlands, a cold and cruel place to those uncertain of their fates until a group of dire wolves attacked them viciously and drove them out. Forcing them out of the forest and to wherever else, the tribe was sent on their way with little to no food. The Highlands were a safe haven compared to what lie below in the desolte and monsterous wastelands. Her mother and father knew little about this strange land and with their injuries from the attacks were too weak to venture further. Not wanting their daughter's last memories of them to be fraught with pain, they had called on the help of the gods to take her elsewhere from here and asked that her mind be free of this memory. That they could be forgotten in their dying hours.
If only they had accounted for the pain this would later bring to the young fawn in life.
Now faced with amnesia and a desperate desire to understand and find out her past because she can feel it in her bones she wanders aimlessly through the Ruins and the Pond, seeking answers at the idols and shrines of the gods and wondering why it hurts so much to remember.
The gods for their part are indifferent to her plight, seeing as how her parents' wish was granted. Perhaps had they not been so callous with their magic, they could have saved her from the future that will come for her. But that is a story for another day.
She's not too hard to understand, at least never at first. If you happen upon her you'll discover she's not so easily startled by your approach, just how you act. Yarrow is a girl of few words (because hardly anyone seems to understand her) so she tends to be quite lonely when she is by herself. Within minutes of meeting someone, however, she is quite charming and endearing, often times just wanting to play.
Soft-spoken and tender-hearted, she makes her emotions rather visible on her face. Because of this nature, she tends to be more prone to approach those who are kindly or sweet to her. In fact, any sign of kindness is often returned in a roundabout way of doing the creature a kindly favor or gesture.
