"It is a pity that 'knock' on the head proved only a solution to a moments insanity.
Sir, your intelligence continues to amaze me." The deer spoke, his words dripped with the most obvious sarcasm. "Be not such a fool, please."
"Ah, but you must not understand the intentions, nor state of mind, which this foolish creature resides in. An insane man will never claim his own insanity.
So neither will I admit my foolishness!
For I have yet to find reason to linger here, while the world which I know passes by me. My world ages." His voice trailed off.
"You found a way out, from what I've heard.
Unpleasant and brief as it was, you escaped.
Correct?"
--
"My mind presumes in to be like this. It is programmed like such.
And... consider it a plan of sorts. Cry isn't quite the correct term for it.
P-p-planning.
This trick cannot be performed without it.
Heh, thank you~
Crazy as he is, he's still hoppin' about. C: I'd suggest a bop on the head but I don't think that'll make it improve. XD;
Tongues lave across huge teeth, white as new tombstones. "There is another way. Not up nor down, in, nor out. I have gone beyond this place before, to the realms where men live.
"There are many... ways out of this forest... but what lays beyond... is no better than... what's already here." He rasps wisely, resting on one side. "I could... lead you out... but returning... is not always... as easy as... a backward step." he adds, long fluffy tail twitching behind him.
From the depths of the woods, a voice speaks, female in nature, yet devoid of any true emotion. She masks it well, letting the wind carry her voice, choosing to stay behind in a world that has moved on.
There is a way out. However, it is an exit most would prefer not to take, lest they are sucked in and lose themselves. It takes a strong mind, or a strong connection, to make it through. I only made it because of the links I had to those who existed around me.
A deep sigh is heard, carrying the weight of regret, of plenty things lost.
It doesn't make it any easier on the heart. And it's even more painful to return.
What is there to "escape" from? Or, perhaps, it is not truly the forest you wish to escape from... Ah, but what do I know? This forest is all I've known, save for a few vague memories that I'm not sure are even real, so I suppose that is why it is so hard for me to imagine leaving.
But, Sir... How would wings help? After all, gaining wings is as simple as having a transformation spell cast upon yourself. Yet, even in the form of a bird, it does not seem possible to simply fly out of here. At least, I have never heard of anyone doing so. I have never tried it myself, of course.
Bylah-
The creature lowered his head, listening quietly before tilting his head upwards in confusion. "....sideways?" He stumbled over his breath. "You speak in riddles."
Batman-
A chuckle reverberated from deep within the magician's body, his grin visible through not only his smile, but his lightly dancing 'antlers' as well. "If only it w-were that simple...!"
Zerg-
The riddler leans his head a bit closer, though hesitance radiated through his body language as he performed the action. "Can you be so s-sure?" A pause. "For what I remember the world beyond this clutches far better memories."
Silence then lifted his head, 'antlers' dancing about him. "Why so?"
OokamiAzura-
The riddler brought his ears forward, chilled by the whispering voice that carried itself around him. He desperately began searching for its source, finding little evidence of anything to rely on. "Have y-you.....?"
His voice faded, a maniacal chuckle rising in his throat. "Or are you merely insanity that speaks aloud to me~?
What has happened to you, darling?"
VCG-
A grin cascaded onto Silence's features. "Oh, but s-so many things, my good sir."
Nuevapaz- "Ah, but if you clung to those faint memories no doubt you'd remember a little more of the c-concept which I speak of.
The concept of infinity, once so debated by scholars, haunts this place like a p-plague.
Drives man mad.
Drives this mind mad, in fact.
....and...prefer to think of it as wings in a figurative sense. For even the birds here cannot cascade higher than the t-tallest branch."
Serenai-
The riddler chuckled, flicking an ear in amusement.
Flyra- "Accepting endlessness is like accepting death, my darling. You can say you understand it, accept it, acknowledge it's existence and such the like, but I know in the d-depths of your mind you still find unease with it.
But even here d-death doesn't quite exist.
S-so I suppose it isn't much a metaphor." Haha, it's quite alright~ <3 Flyra's awesome. Just sayin'. C:
No, I am not the insanity, nor am I deceased. I am living flesh and blood. For now, I hide myself however. Perhaps someday, you and I can properly meet.
She hesitates upon his next question. No, she won't tell all.
Only what's truly important.
Wordsmith, I know not of your relations to others, but it would be a mistake to leave. That much I can say.
If only I could... Although those vague memories contain only pain, fear, and death...that doesn't stop me from wishing I could remember more. They are but memories, after all. They do not frighten me.
I am not sure there is nothing finite here... Fawns grow up, they do not remain fawns forever. New lives are created. There has even been some death, from what I've heard...
You have friends here, do you not? Would you leave them?
The great whole of him rose up endlessly, tines stabbing at the underbelly of the sky; it bled out more stars, little great lights. "That is not mine way. One may come and go as they please..." he rasped, before seeming to disappear into nothingness with the subtlest lean to the left....
"...if one knows how," the Beast rasped, from where he was striding around from behind Silence, his smile as wide as the ocean's deepest trench.
AKA Silence is being stupid.
