Transparency?

Nimariel's picture
Question about transparent pictures. The background from page to page varies, so I'd like to make a transparent backed signature deer but I don't want to have to make it in just a brown-coloured box when the comments box on someone's page is say, bright green.

Is there any tricks to it or am I doomed? Eye

+apologize for the number of questions been asking recently. Some things that are supposed to make sense escape me.

If you know how to make

If you know how to make layers, I can tell you how to on GIMP!

First, make your drawing on one layer. When making a new layer, select 'Transparent background' BEFORE you make it.

Then you delete the white layer which appears automatically and save as .png!

What if you're trying to give a picture that you made, in say, MS Paint a transparent background? How would you go about doing that?

.gif has an inherently transparent background too, though it makes the quality of the drawing suffer. You can upload .png-images via tinypic.
Also, which program are you using? >w<

What I did for mine was take the image from Paint to another program that allowed me to set whatever solid color I had the background as already to transparent (in this case MS Photo Editor).
