Soft-Effect Setting?

Redkora's picture
I was wondering how people like to play the game soft-setting-wise, for fun. Personally, too much soft effect gives me a headache, and I usually just like to use none when I'm playing normally. I use the soft effect to get neat screencaps for further editing, though.

Maybe I'll go back to using no soft effect for screenshots, too. I don't know.

How about you?

I tend to play with it off.

I tend to play with it off. I'll turn it on slightly on rare occasions, when I'm going for a certain mood in screenshots.

I don't like playing with

I don't like playing with the soft effect on, I think I have it on the teeniest bit. It does look nice in screenshots though!

Yeah, I usually play with it

Yeah, I usually play with it turned off. Though lately I've had it turned on pretty high, for some reason. I like how dreamy it makes everything. Just depends on how I'm feeling, mostly. :')

AT one point I temporarily

AT one point I temporarily made a part-blind character and when I played him I played him with the whole soft effect on so I'd know how he was seeing things, but I quickly started not liking that and I became bored with the character and I recycled his picto. Smiling

I use to play with it on

I use to play with it on when I first joined TEF.
But that quickly changed when I found
that my pictures seemed to be too blurry to
enjoy, as well as the forest scenery. I like
it more when things looks more "scrapy".

However I do enjoy to put on the blur when
Abios are going on. <3

Those screenshots are

Those screenshots are lovely, Redkora!

I always have the Forest soft - it's usually set a little over halfway. I had to work up to that setting, though, because it hurts my eyes too. But now I cannot imagine playing the Forest without it. I tried that once, actually (by accident, when I tried to run the Forest as an actual screensaver) and I was startled by how stark and sharp the Forest is without it. I just really love the way it makes everything look-- soft, dreamy, and kind of magical in a way. I always get a kick out of seeing other people's screenshots, because the same scene often looks dramatically different on their computer.

i used to turn it off, but

i used to turn it off, but now i keep it on a very low setting... it makes it look more natural actually, with the sunbeams and the floating particles, makes it look more hazy...

Ever since I've discovered

Ever since I've discovered it, I've been using it. If it's too strong, it can give me a headache, too, but I have mine just over 50% soft I believe, which makes it absolutely beautiful to me. So very, very dream-like.
