Ah, the silent one has returned. Your quick fashioning of gutteral sounds, of voices, into beautiful riddles intrigues me still. Wordsmith, though I am no riddler, my first inhibition to the answer would be A pair of shoes... Hehehe, although, as you have said, one must think beyond the script. I do not think I should grasp the concept easily, and so, I will stand by my answer.
Welcome back <3 The Puppeteer has pondered the Wordsmith's whereabouts ;3 (The answer is for the second riddle. My mind is too tired for the first XB)
I'm unsure, but I think the answer to your first riddle would be neither, as they are presumably meeting on the same spot and thus are at a tie or something? I don't know, too tired for riddles today.
I won't answer the second one though, I'll leave that for a smarter person or deer.
"My mind was unhinged at the time of those utterings, dear Riddler. The ghost of one's former lover would give anyone pause... It just so happened that my own form of shock was that of the mind. I apologize if I have alarmed you. And I see... no answer to your riddles - but a deeper self inside. Please...please do not be afraid to share with me any woes or questions that your brilliant mind may peruse...
... I would love to perform for you, dear Sir - if I may, one day. When you are not too stressed, busy, or otherwise occupied. Please allow me to entertain you in the only way I know how."

"I am not the Kirin Prince my father wished me to be. I am the three-horned darling of the Forest,
and my friends are my strength."
"You seem quite... elevated today in the forest, to say the least. Mushrooms can only be good in moderation good sir, so please keep care of yourself. You worry me sometimes.
As for your riddle, you have truely stumped me. I'll wait and let some other smart deer answer this one. Keep care, Sir Silence."
You seem almost surprised, Slytongue. I am present in many-a-deer's company, even when they are not aware. I have... Strings, one could say, linking me to every little fold of a page in this forest. Still, there are those few scraps of paper that I am unable to decipher; your words cause my eyes to betray me once again. You do have me consistently interested, however, and... I feel the need to delve into your mystery once more.
Upon my knowledge of many lifeforms, for my travels have been far, I believe one must break a horse in order to use it. A foolish suggestion, but one that takes the corner off my mind; I shall await your response.
"I will indeed elaborate for you, dear wordsmith! I have been granted a great gift by the Gods. Music now plays in my mind, which only I can hear. I have only the intense desire to DANCE to this music, and so I do. My performances... are being often interrupted - but I am by no means an expert, so I have no problem with this.
Ah, but it is exhilarating to dance in the cold! Especially in such a form. As you may imagine, I do not undertake these acrobatics in my cervid form. I would break my deer back! However, when I dance, even those of such a mind as to be frightened... don't seem to be. It is a most wondrous thing!
Of course, those who wish to JOIN the dance cannot hear the music - but it is a wonderful thing nonetheless, to have a miniature party within the forest. And ah, but the constant music is a blessing. I find I can turn it OFF if I need to rest. But that has been very infrequent as of late. I wonder if, perhaps, the Gods are blessing me? I wonder for what reason. But I will not question their wisdom.
Instead... I will dance!"

"Greetings, Sir, it was a pleasure to make your brief acquaintance earlier! Hope you are well? It was a great relief to see that you seemed safe, I can not deny my concern for you these cold few days.
Hm, your riddle baffles me once again sir, I shall have to pass~"
Mmh. It does seem that my ancient mind has not yet been hindered with the dementia one my age may be griefed by. These thoughts are sharp yet.
And despite my wits, it is nigh impossible for my slow hooves to hold pace with your own, Wordsmith. Your presence feels unlike any others', and I was very aware of your whereabouts in the Birch Forest. Alas, I was troubled by the absence of my puppet and was hardly interested in anything else- until, would you guess, you travelled off. My curiosity was far too much to bear, and my, though I followed you 'cross all terrain, you still managed to escape me.
... You realize, O Riddlespeaker, that one cannot go running forever. But I shall leave my detriment at that.
I have pondered these past hours, and come to the conclusion that your quartet of words follow a pattern... One of the spellings in the english language; vowels. And though I could fall short of this answer, I shall project the thought anyways... Could the fifth word be arterious?
Hmm... I see.. This means there'll need to be a word which has a, e, i, o and u, in this order... D8 But I can't think of any, since I'm not english.
Oh well. Maybe someone else will. :B
(Sorry if I weren't supposed to speak that out... D8)

Would the answer be "A
Would the answer be "A horse"?Corn on the cob.

*tracks* ....Why do I bother
....Why do I bother with these? I obviously don't have the mind for riddles. Or the patience. But they interest me, anyway...
Aha, I've an unfair advantage
I find my knowledge too unfair, but I part the other guessers with a hint. A big hint, indeed.
Wrath.
Hatchet.
Facelift.
Dandelion.
And for the last...well, those will the skill of diction should be able to find an answer.

Edit: Oi, I should really learn to check around before posting my discoveries. Tragedy of the youth.
I'd say there's an answer among these replies.
Great riddle, Sir.
