Question to everyone

I've been curious about this for quite a while, and I figured I might as well ask:

When role playing, do your characters see pictograms? Their own or another's?

I think it varies a lot from player to player and deer to deer.
Some of my characters do, some of them don't but are aware of them, others aren't aware/I'm not sure on them yet.

I usually assume the pictogram is always there, but since the deer knows it's there, they just seem to ignore it. So when I'm roleplaying as Quad or whoever, I don't mention the pictogram because he'd be so used to seeing it that it's just tuned out.

Wondered about this too.

It varies for me from character to character but for the most part, no. Sometimes just to be safe, so I'm not going around in my updates talking about a character's picto, when their player doesn't want the character's picto to even be visible, or part of their overall design.

But pictos represent things like scents, or for one of my characters, souls. So if they were to see a picto on the in-game map/navigation, it'd be as if they'd picked up the character's scent or sensed them, ect.

They don't see the pictos as pictos, but I use them as representations for what they would see, if that makes any sense.

Mine see it, but because it's one of those usual things, there's really no need to mention it, unless they're looking for someone.
Account previously Mjrn, returned to Veedeer.

My characters don't see

My characters don't see pictograms, though I often draw my characters/other peoples characters with their pictos. I see pictograms as a visual for their scent or mark. SO if I find a character in game by their picto, it's essentially finding them via scent/sound. That doesn't mean that that is wrong. it's just how I play ^^

Personally, I find it hard to explain, or I did, until I read through the other blog we were just linked.
I find that I'm heavily reliant on pictos when in the Forest to recognize characters and that translates over to my characters having to see them as well. But..these:

I generally visualize all Forest and rp interactions in my head, and when I first meet a character, their picto is there. And it just occurred to me that I no longer see the pictos of characters I can recognize anymore. They just disappear over time.
To, personally, give reason to this..er.. phenomenon, the magic of the Forest gives a visual of a character's spirit/personality/what-have-you to those who do not know the character well, kind of like a cheat sheet, if you will. That will probably be my reasoning for my characters now, now that I can put it to words, sorta. Like, once my character knows another by sight/sound/smell/etc., there's no need for the pictogram anymore..

And Qanat, Lats'vel soulsight is one of the reasons why I finally posted for answers on others' views of pictos.

Soli, yea, using pictos in game to find someone, is like, essential. I tried playing with pictos off..Yea that was frustrating as all get out :I So I do that, too, using pictos to find peeps and explain using sight/smell.
