How do I darken pencil lines so the scanner picks it up well? I go over it a lot with a pencil, but it doesn't really work. Help? :c

Hmmm... I suppose you don't want to ink it, there is way to darken the lines in art programs as photoshop. I just don't know how that works. Maybe you can find a tutorial about it on the internet?

I've looked, and tried. One said using markers helps, but it makes my drawings look ugly. I don't have photoshop either. Thank you, though. c: I'll keep looking.

I have the same problem, (which is why I rarely work with traditional media XD; ), but I believe there are some ways around it. One thing you could do is go over your pencil lines with ink or a rolling ball pen (I would recommend Pilot's Precise V5). Or you could always go with the Photoshop route. Here is a tutorial that I found to be very helpful in developing a lineart method: http://acaraluv.deviantart.com/art/lineart-with-the-pen-tool-21814747

Everyone's already said the methods (I use Levels in PhotoShop myself to darken.), but there is a way to make the scanner adjust the line darkness when it scans. I'm not sure how your scanner works, or what scanning software came with it, so all I can tell you is experiment with it.

Well, whatever image editing program you do have, you can change the contrast. Just fiddle with it until the lines are darker. Microsoft Digital Image Suite is your friend. c:
