Once upon a time, there was a kingdom.
Once upon a time, there were two kings.
Once upon a time, there was a queen.
Once upon a time, there were two horses,
Once upon a time, there was a knight.
And this tale shall never end happily ever after.
---------
There was one kingdom, and it was ruled by two kings and a queen. One king and his wife, the queen, would bring peace to the kingdom and wanted the world to have peace. The other king, who did not ever marry, was known as The King of Darkness. He would try and bring darkness to the land, and wherever he walked the grass around him would turn black, and the king would always leave a black trail.
There were two castles: The king and queen's was the most beautiful building in the kingdom. The water around it sparkled in the moonlight. The King of Darkness's castle, however, was black and the water around it would be black with dirt and moss. Crocodiles lived in the water and the Darkness king would train them to be so ferocious they would kill any living creature they saw, even a fly, and continue to attack the dead body until there was noting left- including bones. In the middle of the kingdom there was a village, where the people of the kingdom lived.
When there was a full moon, the peace king would become so powerful that anything could turn peaceful again and the King of Darkness would become weak and powerless. When there was a New Moon, The King of Darkness's powers would be their greatest, and the peace king would lose his powers. According to legend, if the world was dark, one night, when it was a full moon, it would turn into a new moon, and the peace king's powers would be gone for good, and the Dark king's powers would be extremely powerful and would stay that way. But, if the world was at peace, then one night, on a New Moon, it would suddenly turn into a Full Moon, and the King of Darkness's powers would be gone forever, and the peace king's powers would become so powerful and it would stay that way forever.
---------
Two horses rode. It was a full moon, and the moon's light beamed down on the horses' backs. One was white, and one was a dark brown. Two knights rode on the horses. Suddenly, the light of the moon seemed to grow dimmer. The knight on the brown horse looked up at the moon, which seemed to be dimmer now. Weird, I thought the moon was brighter? The knight did not dwell on it for long and rode on.
Then the light seemed to grow even dimmer. "Wait a minute! Hold on!" The knight yelled to the other knight. Both horses stopped, and the knight on the white horse turned around and said, "What is it?"
"Is it just me... or... is the moon getting dimmer?" Both knights looked up at the moon, which had grown dimmer. Suddenly it turned completely black. The knights waited for it to return. They soon felt the ground shaking. "It's a new moon!" Cried the knight on the white horse. Both horses reared, neighing. The knight on the white horse fell off. The grass turned black and the leaves on the tree withered and fell, and lighting struck the sky as black rain fell. "Earthquake!" There was a big crack, and the knights could see a crack in the ground. There was a yellow glow shining from the crack... which turned black as black lava spewed out of the crack and into the air.
The white horse grew wings and flames burst from it's body. It's knight watched in awe as it neighed and flew to the sky, and flew out of sight. The flaming Pegasus would never be seen again.
The knight was in too much shock that he did not know there was a black lava wave falling at him. He was buried in the black lava and was never seen again.
Luckily the brown horse and the knight got away to warn the village about the lava. Suddenly the horse's color changed. His neck and muzzle turned into a bright blue, his back turned gray, his tail turned into a dark blue, and his belly was dark green, and his legs turned yellow. There was a yellow stripe on each side. The knight gasped but still rode on.
The village was now in sight, but still a distance away. The black lava was catching up to both the knight and the village, so the horse tried to run as fast as he could. They were almost to the village when suddenly the multicolored horse tripped and fell. Black lava was everywhere, and a wave was about to crash on the village, and the knight. The horse suddenly grew beautiful blue wings, the largest wings in the world, even larger than a dragon's, and the wings covered the knight and protected him as the black lava fell.
---------
The lava had stopped and turned to ash. The knight, shocked that he was alive, looked around. Half of the village was destroyed. Many people had died, and few had survived. There was no moon light, it was pitch black, as it was still a new moon. The horse was no where to be seen.
The knight heard crying and looked down to see a baby, naked. It was a boy. Probably orphaned just minutes ago, the knight thought. although he seems very young, a newborn.
"Is anyone willing to raise this child?" He said, holding the baby up in the air. A woman came up and the knight gave her the baby, and she returned home, with the baby in her arms.
---------
10 years later
---------
Ever since the Earthquake, the kingdom grew darker everyday. More people and creatures died. The grass turned more black each day, though most places didn't even have grass. There were more fights and sadness each day. There was still some black lava, hanging on the barren tree branches, and there were barely even any trees. The King of Darkness grew stronger everyday with his power. The kingdom grew miserable every minute.
According to legend, if the King of Darkness was killed, the king would gain his peaceful powers, everything would be returned to normal and the kingdom would have peace. It was decided that they would train a man to be a strong, powerful knight to kill The Dark King and save the kingdom.
The king went to the village, which was not a thriving town anymore. Half of the village was ruined, destroyed forever, and the remains of the village were also somewhat ruined. Most people lived on the streets. The king looked around and saw a little boy, around ten years old. His mother told him his name was Ansley. "The Darkness King, he is powerful, but I see something in this little boy that is powerful and might save us." The mother gasped and put her hand on her son's shoulder. "You mean... you're training him to defeat the King of Darkness?" The king nodded. "He shall be a great knight, and when the time comes, he'll save us all."
---------
"Mother...I had the weirdest dream."
"Ansley, listen to me." Mother grabbed her son by the shoulders. "They are coming, to take you. We might never see each other again." She was grabbing her son, crying.
"But... you wouldn't let them take me, mother. I'm you son."
"No, Ansley, you're not my son." Mother said quietly. "Ten years ago, when you were born, an earthquake struck. After the earthquake you were found by a knight named Harman, who was a young knight at the time. Oh, Ansley, please understand all of this, I know this is so hard for you!"
"But... if i'm not your son... and you're not my mother... why do you love me?"
"Ansley... I love you because you're still my son, even if we don't share the same bloodlines."
"But-"
"Please understand, I still love you, I never wanted this to happen. But now the king orders to train you, and when you're an adult, you'll be fighting the King of Darkness!"
---------
Ansley went with the king to train. Over the years he grew stronger and was ready to fight the King of Darkness. When he was 20 years old Ansley got on a horse, who galloped to the Darkness's king's castle. When the village heard this they were very happy that someone was willing to kill the King of Darkness.
Ansley had finally reached the Dark king's castle. It was night, with no moon. For ten years the moon had never shown again.
Ansley walked in the castle. No body had never saw what the castle looked like inside before. It was black, with black rats and spider webs everywhere. Ansley searched every room for the king, but the king was not at the castle.
The king was actually at the Peace King's castle. "Aldrich?" she asked, looking around, calling the king's name. The king was not there, bu the dark king was. He used one of his evil powers to make the castle pitch black and used a power to change his voice to sound like the king's. "I am here. What do you need?" He said. "I was wondering where you were. Why is it pitch black?" she replied, not knowing it was actually the darkness king.
"I do not know. Maybe it's because of the Dark king's powers? Maybe he does not want us to see?" The dark king lied. "Queen, there must be a prince or princess around here, or else there would be no future king or queen?" The dark king asked.
"I suppose you are right. But there is no prince or princess!"
"Well, we can fix that right now."
---------
And the queen had walked right in the Dark King's trap. Meanwhile, Ansley was wondering where the king had went. He searched the kingdom everywhere, until he heard a dark, rough, voice. "Hello, Ansley." Ansley whipped his head around and saw the Dark king. His head was a skull and the rest of his body was covered by a black cape. "You have made our village and this kingdom suffer. Now you will know our pain!" Ansley grabbed his sword and with his horse charged at the king. Lighting stuck in front of them. Although the horse reared, neighed, and wanted to run away in fear, Ansley wanted to show the king how horrible he was.
The fight went for a few minutes, but using just a few powers Ansley was laying on the ground, dying. "If they thought you were powerful enough to kill me, they do not know just how strong I am. I am much stronger than I acted in that fight. I was going quite easy on you, and you were too weak." And the Dark King left the young knight to die.
---------
"I'm... i'm dead. It's over." There was nothing but pitch black, but then a blue light. Ansley walked over to the light and saw a wizard, with a blue orb in his hands. Ansley's memories struck back to him like lightning. He and a friend were magical, and chosen by this wizard. They had more than one life and when they die they would see the wizard again, who would give them another life and wash away their memories until they die again.
"I knew the King of Darkness was stronger than you, and you would be defeated tonight." The wizard said, his eyes focused on the orb. "Remember you friend?" He asked. Ansley nodded.
"He had only four lives, like you. His last life was his last one, and now he's gone forever." The wizard held up the orb, which showed Ansley's friend's lives: A human, a bird, a horse who had turned into a flaming Pegasus at the earthquake so many years ago, and a human again. "This next life is your last one." The wizard then showed his lives: A dragon, a horse who's pelt color changed and grew wings at the earthquake, and now he was a human. "Unlike your other lives, you will be in a mother's womb for the beginning of your life. Remember, this is your last one. After this life you'll be gone forever." The wizard said.
"But- wait!" But it was too late. Ansley was no longer Ansley. He was a baby in the Queen's womb; the son of the Peace queen and the King of Darkness.
---------
The news about Ansley's death saddened the people greatly, but the news that the queen was pregnant and there would be a future prince or princess made the people happy. Everyone except the peace king. "But, I don't remember agreeing to a child," he said. "But I clearly remember you saying that we needed a prince or princess," the queen replied. "I do not remember saying anything." Both the king and queen were confused now.
One day while the queen was pregnant a sound like thunder roared. She jumped back and her belly started to turn black. The king gasped.
"The Dark king! You are having a child with the Dark King!" He roared. The queen gasped. The King of Darkness had tricked her! She was now carrying the Dark King's child. "You've betrayed me!" The king growled. "You don't understand! I-" The queen tried to explain but was interrupted. "I do not want you in my presence. I don't want you in my kingdom! You are banished, and I hope to never see you again!"
---------
The queen, now a poor woman, rode on a gray mare. She was out of the kingdom's borders and she was now in a forest. She did not know where she was. All she knew she was a woman who was once a queen but had foolishly walked into a trap. That cost her almost everything she had, now she was a woman without her crown, and dressed with ragged clothes, riding on a gray mare. Her once light blue eyes almost seemed black and ragged, like her clothes, now.
She kept riding until she saw something. A light. Coming from a bush. She walked over and pushed the bush over. A portal. Leading to where? Was it a place better or more worse than this place? Did the portal lead anywhere.
The woman did not care now. She jumped in, leaving the world she knew behind forever.
---------
When she woke up, she was in a forest. And she was no longer human either. She just didn't feel like a human. She heard a pond in the distance and walked with her now four legs. What was she? She gasped when she reached the pond. Deer everywhere... with human faces! And magical antlers and pelts and some even wore masks! She looked around. Two fawns with human races ran, laughing, and jumped into a statue, which seemed to be crying. They were sucked into the statue and left a blue cloud. She gasped. Were they alright? A second later they jumped out, laughing, and with red, shiny, pelts. They ran off into the distance.
The once queen walked to the pond and looked down. She gasped. She was one of the human faced deer too!
Where am I? The now antlered doe wondered. All she knew this was not a normal forest. She walked closer in the pond and accidentally stepped in the deep water, and she felt herself shape shift into a frog! The doe swam around a bit and then got out. What a weird forest.
Over in the distance the doe saw a hill with two statues on it. Curious, she walked over to them, and then saw two deer appear in front of her. "Hello." They said. One was a doe and one was a buck. "I am Auriea," the doe said. "I am Micheal," the buck said. "We are the Twin Gods, the gods of the forest, may we assist you?" They both said at once.
"Yes. What is this place?" The antlered doe asked. "This is The Endless Forest, a magical, peaceful forest," They both said at once. "Endless? This place is endless? Ha! I'll get out of this freaky place in no time!" The doe started to run, now used to her four legs. She kept running, passing the pond three times. The fourth time she arrived at the hill, out of breath. "Ok... apparently... I've... been... running... in... circles... I'll... try... another...time." After the doe had caught her breath she asked another question. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PLACE?" she yelled.
"Nothing!" Auriea said. "The forest is a beautiful place, isn't it?" Micheal said. The doe looked around and noticed something- some of the deer had little bright lights above their heads. "What are those bright things?" She said.
"Those are Pictograms, written in a language no one knows how to read." Auriea said. "It shows your name, and you can also get a spell without losing it." Micheal said. "Wait, what? Spells? Please tell me what this all is," The doe asked, confused.
So the gods explained to the antlered doe what the spells were and the pelts, antlers, and masks. She also learned that she was a nameless. If she got a pictogram she would not be a nameless.
"Do you want a pictogram?" Micheal asked.
"...Sure, I'll live in a place where there is no darkness.
---------
It was months later. The queen, now a doe with silky, long, blue fur and a real deer mask, was still pregnant with her child. The child of the Darkness king, she growled in her mind. She had been feeling contractions for a while. Suddenly she needed to sit down. The baby was coming.
She knew that this child would be different. He was the son of The King of Darkness and The Queen of Peace. He would want peace in the world, but his darkness powers would take over him and he would turn into a rage, bringing black and darkness everywhere he went.
The doe had a plan. Once he was a year old she would tell him that he is The Prince of Darkness, and had both the powers of peace and the powers of darkness. He would have to control his anger so he would not destroy the Endless Forest, and she would train him to do that.
But that was a year from now. Now was birth. She pushed until she could feel the prince's body slowly push out. Finally there was a new fawn in the world. He had a beautiful, colorful pelt. He had a bright blue neck and a dark blue tail. His back was gray and there was a yellow line on each side on his body. His legs were yellow. ...Peacock? The doe tried to remember all the pelts she knew.
The fawn squealed and jumped around playfully. He was already running around. The doe knew he would grow up to be a hyper deer.
The Prince of Darkness jumped, and then charged into his mother's side, as if he was piercing him with something. He yawned and fell asleep. The doe nuzzled him, and thought of a name for him.
"Welcome to the world, Peirce, the Prince of Darkness."
