For many, Paavo's life was a blessed one. He was born into a royal family with his mother and father being leaders of a herd. However, he felt that his life was more of a curse than a blessed gift. From the moment he was able to stand on his own feet, the idea of being perfect was drilled into his head. His father did not want to pass down the crown to an unworthy stag. He felt that the only way Paavo could prepare to be a proper king was to begin building proper characteristics through strict training as early in his life as possible.

Everything he did had to be perfect; there were no exceptions and mistakes were not allowed. Each day he was criticized. His flaws were pointed out to him as he was spoken down to by his father. He often spent much of his fawnhood with strange deer that began to instruct him on how to become the "perfect" prince. He had to learn to eat properly...How to walk properly...How to stand properly...How to talk properly...Even how to sleep properly. Any time he failed to meet the standard set by his father, he was servilely punished for it.

He was not allowed to run and play with the other fawns because they were lower in the social status than he was; his parents felt they were not good enough to be around him. Occasionally, his mother would set up play dates with other royal fawns from other herds for him to play with. (Though he did not enjoy their company since most of them were very stuck up.) His father also set up an arranged marriage between Paavo and another young doe when they both were old enough to marry, though Paavo highly opposed of the idea. This left him feeling extremely lonely and out of place, as well as bitter, as he longed for freedom from their chains of perfection and class.

He did not have a strong bound with either one of his parents. His father was always away defending the herd's territory from rival stags; when he was around the herd, he'd often challenge Paavo and test his ability as a leader. His mother tended to ignore him as she went about being a queen while admiring herself in the pond and often disappear with a mysterious stag. The little bit of time he did spend with his parents were bitter for they would mainly criticize him or talk down to him as a failure. The only escape he could find was to listen to old fairy tales told by elders in his herd. When his parents discovered, they were greatly disappointed and banished him from speaking to lower class deer. With his only freedom taken away, Paavo decided to run and go in search of a new place to call home; a place that would not judge him.

{ A p p e r a n c e }

Paavo has a distinguishable patch of fur on his chest near his heart. The fur pattern looks like a cello leaning against a chair (his picto) that the Baroque family crest. The cello is to represent a sturdiness, yet elegance, something that all Baroque stags must have. It leans against a chair because right now, it has no player (a symbol for a leader). This is to represent that Paavo is only a prince. Typically, once a prince becomes a king, he goes through a ceremony were a symbol that looks like a person is scorched into the fur to show that he has been handed the crown; this represents that there is now a leader. However, since he ran away, he'll never get the 'person' symbol.

He also has a patch of black fur on the top of his head, the same color goatee lays on his chin. He has golden strips that wrap around his body, which has turned into a variety of shades of yellows and light browns. His body type is well built. He's fairly tall but isn't too muscular, giving him a that body is actually quite lean for a male though he remains majestic in appearance. It is easy to see that he definitely carries the body of a future king.

His stubs have been replaced with tall, bleached white antlers. They twist high above him, and might make him look intimidating even though in reality, he is the opposite. If one looks into his gray eyes, they will find nothing but tenderness and sorrow.

{ P e r s o n a l i t y }

The events in Paavo's life have left him broken and bitter. His bitterness began to develop more as he grew older mainly because he started to have a harder time understanding why his parents acted the way they did. Now that he sees things a different way, he can't help but question and feel angry at the coldness his parents showed him as well to life itself. He has a temper and isn't afraid to show it. When alone if pissed, he'll run off to fight with a tree since he doesn't want to hurt anyone unless they provoke him. (Though he's far from being a bully, he does not think twice about backing down from a fight.) If anything, his angry ways are just masks that hide is true self: a stag in pain.

He finds himself swaying in and out of depression as he longs to find a place to fit in... To find a place to call home. While he tends to have a temper, he longs for a gentle touch and kindness. Under the tough exterior and strength he shows, lies the heart of a lost romantic looking for acceptance and love.

After all, it is in his noble blood to protect those he cares about, even at the thread of his life. Once someone grows dependent on him, he will remain at their side and stand between them and danger regardless of the circumstances. He has already gotten himself in a few fights in his earlier days trying to protect someone near to him. Yet even with charm, he is a failed ladies' man. "Love" is something that he feels he does not deserve. Due to being separated from other fawns when growing up, he often does not know how to act around does. He fears that he'll make a fool of himself or chase them away with his natural-protective aggression. It was this ignorance that resulted in a stalemate when the stag had fallen in love. As days turned to weeks... And weeks into years... The golden stag never forgot about the sweet doe he had so tenderly watched from afar, longing to be beside. At times he can be seen overlooking the pond lost in memories as he whispers her name... Shyla.

{ B e h a v o i r }

Changes in life have caused a shift in how he acts. He tends to keep to himself as he strides around the Forest. This allows him to protect his fragile heart from another break since it prevents him from making any new friends who could possibly walk away from him. When alone, he either wanders deep in thought or releases anger by running madly through the Forest and attacking trees. At times he can also be found staring sadly at the pond as he tries to shake away faded memories.

When a friend feels threatened, he automatically jumps in front of them and tries to scare off the offender. He'll scratch the ground, lower his antlers, and stand on his back legs. However, he also tries to let the deer know that he isn't being aggressive, but protective. He'll occasionally bow to them even with his antlers lowered as a way to say, "Hey, I have nothing against you...I just am not sure about what you're doing!" It is in his blood and it is a concept that has been thrusted upon him since his birth. He feels a strong need to protect those around him, even if they don't need protection. Without it, he feels useless.

When it is time for him to go, he'll bow and look sad before laying down to sleep. A small guide has been made to help everyone better understand Paavo in the Forest.

His adolescence was taken up with Kumiko's emoness and the creation of Argyle/Ely. Then he had his Stag Day but I didn't really do anything since I wasn't sure how to get the Spellsaver to work, but now that it is working, I hope to use him more. Especially since he's a stag now.

Gah...I really would like for Shyla to say something about this, but I can't seem to get anything from her, or figure where...or when...bleh.

In case I NEVER do...I just want to say she isn't bothered >< Mainly because she doesn't understand it, heh. She doesn't really know what the difference between love and 'love' is, and she loves all her friends equally for different reasons. Ark just happened to be alluring in a romantic way, but Paavo has a special place in her heart as well. I don't thiunk she could ever prefer one over the other...that's what I love about her XD
