Bored. Wanted attention. Sought it out from the first deer she encountered: a large, older stag whom she'd heard rumors of, by the name of Walter. She marched right on over and attempted to make conversation with the fellow. Didn't mind that he was a little rough around the edges. Found it amusing.

Was stalked by a very obvious Reate. Ran to greet the unicorn, and took a seat with him in the sun. When the flame-colored brute fell asleep, ran off.

Discovered Judaius. Curious creature; realized shortly that he didn't like romping. Didn't mind that, though it was unusual. Cut the cute act, and took a seat nearby. For some weird reason, she liked this guy. No flattery, no fake politeness, no awkwardness; just brutal honesty. A good change.

Personality

Born an Aquarius in early February, in a bizarre season for her kind to be birthed, Hyssop is friendly and humanitarian, honest and loyal, original and inventive, and independent and intellectual. Aquarians usually fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist. Hyssop would fall into the both! She must occasionally retire from the world and become a temporary loner, and tends to put important relationships at risk when she does so. However, she longs for recognition, and usually will return feeling much better than before she left.

When some cause or work of nature inspires Hyssop, she is capable of such devotion to it that she may drive herself to the point of exhaustion and even risk damaging her health. She can be intractable and contrary, perverse and unpredictable, and often detached. She's airy, and dislikes interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on her own terms. However, she likes being fought and fawned over, and grows excited about those who crave her attention.

All in all, she can be quite the handful, and has difficulty getting maintaining strong relationships with others, but when one truly understands and opens their heart to her, she will fill it up with enough love to make it burst.

Rut Behavior

During the rut, Hyssop will partake and socialize much like a regular Roe doe. During her estrus period, she will make soft, bird-like calls and entice bucks to chase her. She will be picky and even somewhat unemotional when it comes to choosing a stag, as she intends to birth young this coming spring (with or without a lifetime mate), and will only settle for a brute who holds his ground with dignity.
