The young female had barely left her home tree. Keeping herself curled up into a tight ball. She had been so excited & happy to see her father days before, though she had only been in his presence once before, she thought the world of him, just as she did her mother. Her eyes were swollen from the constant crying though it seemed perhaps she had cried all the tears she was able to right now since none fell. Had she upset her father? Had she been a bad daughter? So many questions ran through her mind as she recalled his distant behavior towards her prior this day. Her eyes were closed tightly as she heard his voice but she didn’t budge. His voice had to have been in her mind, after all. It wasn’t until it was quiet & the sun seemed to be hidden by an object did she dare open them. Her breathing stopped as she saw her father beside her. Had he come to scold her? No, his words were too kind for such a thing.

”Daddy?” she whispered, squinting her eyes to see him better. He didn’t seem… all there though, but she didn’t care. As long as he WAS there, that’s all the youth cared about.

”Scared… an worried… I did something to make you mad. I don’t want to upset you, daddy” she sniffled, wanting to bury herself in his feathers but fearing the outcome. Fearing he would be gone just as the previous day.

Her eyes grew wide as she looked up into her fathers face ”I haven't upset you?" she asked through a few sniffles. Her ears pinned back as she listened to him. Surely he wasn't going to be doing what she thought ”Are you leaving again, daddy?" she asked, her face soft & her ears drooped. She had already lost grandmother, would her father be gone next?

She hummed quietly at his compliments of her. Nothing sounded better then hearing that her father loved her, that he wasn’t mad or upset with her, that she wasn’t a bad daughter but the humming soon stopped once he began explaining that he would indeed be going away. She didn’t understand some of what he said, but she knew well enough he would be leaving, leaving her. This time she would start her own grooming of him, unaware or worried if he would dislike it or not but she needed to have some closeness before he was gone again. “I love you daddy” she whispered, rubbing her cheek into his orange feathers, her heart sad but happy all at once “and I’ll miss you soo much” She hadn't been with her father as much through her life as she would have wanted, but no matter the time in between until she was with him again, he would always be her daddy & she would always be proud to call him that.

”Even when you can’t see me or feel me, I am always with you too, daddy” she said, closing her eyes & rubbing her cheek gently on his feathers. She prayed this moment could last forever, that it was just a dream & her father would still be here tomorrow & the day after that, but wishing wouldn't be able to help her now. She opened her eyes, however & looked up to her father with complete awe. “Won’t ever forget you, daddy and I’ll always wait till I get to see you again.

She was unsure how she would enjoy her time knowing her father would not be around but she still had her mother, her sister, brother & of course her uncle Zash. They would keep her strong, she just knew it. ”So proud of you too, daddy” she said, closing her eyes as his beak rested against her small heart shaped crown feathers upon her forehead.

Tracking, this is cute.

She was trying to be brave, trying to make her papa proud by seeing the lighter parts of the forest and trying to greet others, and though she still ran from tree to tree around the forest, the doe stopped to peek out from behind one in particularly as she watched a stranger sleeping. Anyone else would find it, perhaps, a little unsettling, but Gia didn’t think much about how she appeared, and when he rose and stretched, she slunk back a little more. She hadn’t noticed just how much larger the male was and when he made his way over to her, it took everything to stop her body from trembling.

”H-hello” she quietly stuttered, hopeful he would find her too pathetic to eat or harass. She couldn’t lie, the smile she saw on his lips eased her mind, but his massive build still made her nervous, and she would quickly flatten her ears and give him a low and submissive bow, her tail tucked tightly against her rump ”I hope I didn’t wake you”.

She watched the dark male fold his legs and rest on the grass near her and instantly she felt at ease. His words and names also did the little doe wonders. She’d never been spoken to like that and she found his charms unfamiliar, and perhaps a bit strange, but she also found them alluring. Slowly her posture returned to its normal stance, her ears moving to straighten up as she took a small tentative step forward. A smile of her own even danced on her maw as she finally decided to join him and fold her own legs underneath her. ”Sorry” she shied away, even though he had just told her not to be. ”My name is Gia. It.. it’s nice to meet you” she added, her smile still firmly on her muzzle.

“No need to be sorry, Baby,” Peppino said as he watched her small form sit beside him. She was such a pretty white, so pure, so clean, and her feathers looked soft like down. “Gia…I like it,” he said, his eyes looking over her delicate face, “It’s a lovely name.” The doe was obviously the shy type, which only made flirting with her all the more sweeter. “And how has your day been, Sugar?” the blonde asked.

She couldn’t help it. The smile and widening of her eyes when he said he liked her name and complimented it was hard to hide and, honestly, she didn’t particularly care to hide the fact anyway. ”You do?” she gasped, her little white tail flapping against her rump gently as her eyes glistened towards his own ”Pepinno is very nice too. I-I like it” she shied away slightly, before she was drawn by his voice once more. ”It’s better now that I have company” she smiled ”a-and yours?”.
