» Vol is used to being completely alone, with the exception of an occasional traveler crossing through his territory. After arriving to the Endless Forest through a cave in the Playground {the cavern leading to his previous home closed after he passed through it, but has since reopened}, he felt deeply uncomfortable with so many others around, but is gradually adapting.

» Despite his elusive tendencies, Vol can't deny that he is curious of the creatures in the forest. He prefers to watch from afar rather than directly approach, but this may change once he feels more comfortable in this forest. If caught and a negative reaction is received, he'll promptly move away.

» Fawns who aren't obnoxious might spark a need to guard in Vol. If there are too many deer in the area, he'll lead them away someplace quieter. If there is a fawn who is aggressive or too persistent, however, he has no problem with pushing it around a little to get it to leave. He prefers to be seen as a sort of guardian or a protective friend rather than a father-figure.

» His old home was cast in nearly perpetual darkness and there was almost always a storm. The lack of both in this sunny forest is something he's started to get used to. The bright light of spells leaves him blinded for a few seconds, and he avoids them whenever possible.

» Until arriving in the forest, Vol had not spoken in years. He had no need to, since he was alone for so long. He was afraid to speak to anyone at first in case his voice sounded strange from not being used, but after practicing by himself he was finally able to whisper and is now capable of a normal tone. Will likely never raise his voice, but can release loud, echoing croaks if he ever needs to get someone's attention. Can produce a variety of sounds and calls for different reasons.

» Omnivorous. Likes meat over plants and berries, though. Prefers fish.

» Not a very jealous creature. If he were to ever feel jealous, he likely wouldn't act possessively over the individual he wishes to receive attention from. He simply accepts that his company may not always be the most desired, and - usually - he's okay with that.

» Isn't very confrontational. He will fight to protect himself or another but wouldn't go out seeking violence unless something very serious occurred.

» In the process of gathering items for a nest. Wearing the things he finds - he doesn't want anything to be stolen if he stashes it somewhere unattended. So far, twigs and sticks are intertwined among his tines with poppies, and feathers are stored between the feathers of his wings.

Birth

` Centuries ago, was crafted within the fiery tempest of a volcano and burst into existence when he was launched into the clouds of ash during its eruption.

` Is actually a god.
--- Vol is aware of a village in another world that has considered him a deity for centuries, ever since he first appeared to them. Made a promise to one male villager {a good friend, the one who found him} to continue behaving as their raven deity even after he died to keep them from becoming lost, and has not broken that promise. Doesn't like to view the villagers as his followers or subjects, even though they consider themselves to be - tries to treat them equally if they let him.
Is not known to them as 'Vol', but instead Corvol Dhivi, meaning 'raven god'. He doesn't realize that he really is, in fact, a god.
--- He is neither omnipotent nor omnipresent.

Abilities

` Capable of a range of abilities, but he has not discovered their full potential.

` Those he knows of:
--- Rapid healing » Any injuries will heal quickly, the rate of which depending on which world he is in. In the forest, his wounds heal quicker than normal but the process is certainly not instant {a few days on average}. The worse the injury, the longer it will take to heal. Vol cannot be harmed by fire or lava however, as he was crafted by and born from both.
--- Healing of others » Vol is able to heal the wounds of others, but the amount and extent of the subject's injuries will decide how much energy is taken from the Ravenstag. Cannot bring the dead back to life, but can try to save them from death if he is able to get to them before they die and repair as much of their injuries as he is able.
--- Night vision » Can see in the dark just as clearly as daylight. Darkness is easier on his eyes because of how long he has spent in a world where daylight was rare {the place he lived before arriving to the forest}, but has adapted well to light of the forest. Spells still render him blind for a few seconds, though.

` Those he doesn't know of:
--- Creation of life » Vol is capable of creating life, but there is a specific process he must follow in order to do so. His lack of knowledge of both that process and his own capability has kept him from ever doing so.
--- Pyrokinesis » Can control fire. Vol has never considered this possible, because although the thought of creating fire has crossed his mind, he is unable to do so without having a 'starting source' - if there is, for example, a lit candle, only then would Vol be able to manipulate the flame. His attempts to create fire had all been without any starting sources since he didn't know they were necessary, so he deemed himself unable to control fire at all and hasn't tried again since.
--- Resurrection » Able to return from death. Although Vol knows he is unaffected by time, he has never died before and therefore doesn't know if he is able to come back to life. If he were to die, his body would turn to ash. It would take a few days - up to a week? idk man - before those ashes would come together again to form him no matter how far they might've dispersed, and Vol would awaken, alive once more.

Relations

K i o s y d a n » Considered a member of Vol's 'flock'. The buck is the closest relation the Ravenstag has had in decades. What began as a mutual fascination when Kios was a newborn has developed into a close-knit friendship. Vol has always kept an eye out for the younger male and offered his comfort whenever he could - knows of the rift between Kios and his family, however has yet to discover the extent of the damage. More than willing to surround the buck with wings and feathers anytime he needs it, although that tends to happen each time they sit together anyway. Vol enjoys watching him grow, especially having never gone through an aging process himself. Has never felt paternal towards despite his keen protectiveness of the Crow, but harbors a powerful devotion and great amount of affection for.
Vol is unaware of Kiosydan's belief that he is the crow who follows the buck. Does his best to be a constant presence regardless, having found that he is at his happiest in Kios' presence.

V a v a r a » A friendly acquaintance who, if more time is spent together, could become recognized by Vol as a member of his 'flock'. Found the fellow raven deer as a fawn, and was drawn to his raven-like feathers. Unaware that Vavara is also a shapeshifter, and has yet to see him in his adult form. Hasn't seen in a while, but keeps a sharp eye out for.

R a e » His first friend since entering the forest, having met her when she was just a fawn. Took her under his wing - literally - and kept her safe from harm whenever he was around. First called "Feaders" by him when she was younger, which changed to "Feathers" after she got a little older. Enjoyed watching her grow. Taken aback when she asked him to be the godfather of her unborn children, but accepted. Despite rarely seeing her anymore, would still gladly visit should he catch her scent.

N i d h e m » Always seems to find the buck alone and in need of company, and is always willing to offer his. Considers Nid vulnerable due to his small size and missing leg, and is protective of. Unaware of Nidhem's attack on Kiosydan.

H ä l l a » An acquaintance. All meetings have been brief, but pleasant. Deeply appreciated the time she sent off a pair who had been tailing him for a while, and would do the same for her. Despite barely knowing the doe, thinks very highly of her.

F a y e » One of the first he met in the forest. Faintly amused by her curiosity, but appreciated her kindness and patience with him while he was still unwilling to speak. Hasn't seen in a while.

A r v a r i s » An acquaintance. Liked her company, but she was often surrounded by others, which caused him to feel uneasy if he was among them all. Had protected her once, and would do it again. Hasn't seen her in a long time.
