"I wake up and think of how to avoid him again, he's been looking for me less recently thought as my injuries aren't half as bad as they were. I don't want to see him, he made a mess of me". his words trailed off as he became agitated at the thought of his lost tail and shattered antlers.
He laughed "yeah maybe I can one day". That made him feel better in a way, it was like a small bit of encouragement that he needed to rescue his small amount of pride.
He stood up and looked back at the stag. "I suppose you can... and you will" He smiled a little. Then he gently said goodbye as he was going to another journey.

The little blue grey deer came to a pause after steadily inching their way closer to the red stag- even though they've met him a good couple of times before. Their grey eyes looked him over. "Is feeling better? Looked hurt last time Cualli sat with, yes." they gave a little nod.
lets do this B) though I haven't been using coloured speech, still need to work out what the best colour would be against the background |D

Thorne turned to see the small deer he had met a couple times before, he was surprised with the attention he was getting recently. "My ass is feeling a lot better but its still a mess". He turned to sniff the small deer, still trying to work out if its a male or female. he was curious about the small creature "So how about you, you doing okay?"
Yeah that might be hard with the background of the comments. Hmm. A darker red maybe? Dunno. ._.
They gave a couple of sniffs in his direction, mostly to copy than to do much of anything else before moving over to plop beside him, "At least getting better though," they said before nodding, "Cualli doing okay. Some days worse than others, but mostly happy. Don't like seeing others sad," they shook their head after that, "No, don't like seeing others sad or hurt. Can't help much with hurt, though."
He slumped down next to the little deer, "yeah it sucks to be injured, can't do anything without causing pain or making the wound worse". he sighed loudly and looked back at the scar that will never fade where his right tail used to be.
"Mhm," Cualli nodded, some old part of their mind understanding the pain the male was going through, but the new part didn't have much of a clue, "Never felt wound pain before," they stated, trying to keep the conversation going, "If has...don't remember it...but hasn't here...doesn't look fun though," they scrunched up their face as they looked over the male's wounds.
Cualli stilled, seeming to put all of their energy into pondering this question. It took them a few moments to answer, "I don't know." They frowned, "Can't remember. Just woke up. See things though. Sometimes. Like I know them. But can't remember, really."
"you don't remember huh? Got amnesia?" he looked at the deer with curiosity, he was interested in where the deer had come from as he hadn't come across many that looked similar to this creature.
"Its when you forget things, sometimes it can be small things and sometimes it can be a huge part of your past that's missing" he looked at the deer "your definitely an interesting little thing".

"See bits and pieces of things, but no sense to them..." they muttered, "Must have been apart of a Before if remember pieces of things...right?" the creature tilted their head at the male.
He thought for a moment to try and reword what had been said so that he could understand it, "yeah must be. Maybe you'll remember more as time passes". He stretched out his legs to test his wounds, they were healing nicely and wont leave him limping permanently.
They seemed happy at that answer, tail flicking as they gave a nod, "Maybe so. Should just be patient and see if they come back." they watched him stretch out, before trying it themselves and giving their back legs a good stretch. "Sitting is nice sometimes," they stated quietly.
"yeah it is", he stretched out more as he was content with the company he had, he felt like he could let his guard down with the little deer even if he still couldn't work out if it was a male or female..maybe it was both or neither at all. Thorne was also content that the little deer had small horns, there was nothing there for him get envious over. "In a few months time they should be a decent size again" he mumbled to himself about his own antlers but it was laud enough for the other to hear.
Cualli tipped their head at him, confusion crossing their face. Had they zoned out again and missed half of what he said? Giving a sheepish, apologetic smile, they asked, "What?"
"Oh er, my antlers, I hate how small they are right now" he looked away to try and find something to look at to stop him from getting annoyed with himself, he really hated not having decent antlers. he thought it was so shameful that they had shattered so easily in combat.

Cualli frowned, their head tipping up to catch sight of the other's tines. "Antlers grow back don't they? They fall off and get bigger when they grow back, right?" How they understood this was debatable, but Cualli just gave a nod and continued, "They'll come back."
Waning-Sun: "yeah..they will. its just annoying to see others with huge racks and mine just splintered and shattered so easily". He wanted to change the subject but wasn't sure on the right topic to choose as his company may not respond well with its memory loss. He signed and rolled over onto his side, he was fine with lack of conversation, it was soothing enough to have someone near him.
Cualli listened to Thorne, their gaze having fallen to the ground. They didn't completely understand Thorne's displeasure, but they did understand that he was sad. Their eyes traveled to the stag when he rolled over to rest on his side. Their ears drooped, wondering to themselves if this was the stag's way of saying their conversation was over. Not wanting to overstay their welcome, they started to get up to wordlessly leave, but then stopped themselves. Thorne was a friend, and he was a sad friend. He needed someone to make him feel better. Using that logic, Cualli switched tactics to slowly move closer to the red male's side, curling themselves up beside him and starting to groom what fur of his they could reach.
He twitched as the other began to groom him, he tensed at first as he wasn't used to the feeling, but after a while he began to relax. This was the first time someone had groomed him, and he liked it, he could fully let his guard down to the little deer and almost forget his worries. He gave a sigh of satisfaction and turned his head to the other "your pretty good at that...thanks".
Cualli smiled, pausing long enough in their grooming to nuzzle Thorne, "Forgot for a long time how to groom, Cualli did. Remembers now. New friend reminded Cualli. Friends groom each other." They looked up at him, the happy smile still on their face.
Friends groom each other...he'd attempted to groom one other before now, maybe he could try again with this deer. He moved closer to the other and sniffed at their fur, he needed to do it without getting his canines in the way. Then he realised, this deer had said 'friend'. Thorne looked away to hide the smile on his face, hearing those words had affected him more than he thought they would. After a few minutes he turned back and started grooming the other as gently as possible, though it may have been a bit rough for the small deer.

Cualli did their best to supress the urge to wriggle happily at being groomed back. While Thorne acted like he could use a little more practice in the grooming department, they didn't seem to mind much. They just groomed him back as best they could, giving off the occasional happy little kitty purr. The little blue gray was completely enjoying the moment. They remembered grooming as a bonding time and a comfort for both. They were more than happy to share that with Thorne.
He soon realised he was pretty bad at grooming but he continued all the same. He was self concious of the size difference between the two of them and was making sure that he didn't move his body to close to potentially smother the smaller deer. He paused every now and again when he heard things around him, his paranoia seemed to be getting worse as of late but he made sure not to let it bother his company.
The blue gray noted the occasional pause, and after a couple of them they raised their head to tilt in his direction. "Is...is okay?" They picked themselves up and moved around Thorne, ears perked as they stared around them. Nothing was there...at least, nothing that they could pinpoint. Giving a tail flick they looked back at Thorne, a puzzled look crossing their face. "Sees nothing, Thorne."
