The Deer: Shaggy, unkempt, with broken bones beyond repair that claw through the raggedness of her taupe pelt. She never bothers to groom, and looks a wreck. Her eyes are close to blindness; only able to pick out dark, blurred images. Her antlers are stubby, and short, with rounded tines that are unable to inflict pain. She appears as a long-lost creature of darkness, seeming to have lived beneath the soil for years on end.

History
Like many, The Endless Forest presented a second life to this suffering animal. Before, Taya was a despicable vermin; a horrible old mutt who lived deep within a cave network, and hunted it's unlucky visitors. She bared her teeth to the meek and innocent, and took pleasure in playing mind games; tricking trespassers into walking in circles through her dark corridors for hours, days even, before they dropped dead of hunger or fear. However, with her last victim, she was taken away from this horrific existence. Brought to this place of serenity and peace, she was given a chance to start again. Of course, she hates this idea, and wants nothing but to return to her home in the caves, but her destiny has other plans. This world of light and beauty and magic frightens her more than anything, and it's inhabitants come a close second, but she is slowly discovering that this is her damnation, and there is no escape from this place.

A soft grunt was exhaled when the doe gave her name, relieved to match a name to a face. Despite his glowing antlers, he had seen many like him; and was surprised to be regarded as something so unique. "I am a deer, like you.", he paused to exhale, the only proof it was him who did it was the rise and fall of his chest. Somehow, he could speak without needing to move his jaw, and he could see through empty, dark eyesockets. "Although, I cannot explain the fact why my antlers smoke as they do."
